Approximately 12,000 bikes are available to rent 24 hours a day, all year round. You can hire a bike from any of the 800 docking stations and return it anywhere on the network. The three-speed bikes are pretty strong. They come with a bell, a front basket and a chain guard. The front and back lights come on when you start pedaling and the seat height is easily adjustable. How much does It cost? Unfortunately, the free under-30-minute-ride deal was canceled in September 2022. *£1.65 per 30-minutes How to hire a bike? There are two ways to hire a bike—at a docking station terminal or via an app (the easier way) At a docking station *Touch the screen and insert a credit or debit card. The machine will print a receipt with a release code. *Enter the release code. Wait until the green light lashes and pull out your bike and go. Via the Santander cycle hire app Smartphone users can now use an ios or android app to hire and pay for a bike. However, using the app does not reserve a bike. You still only have 10 minutes to use the release code, so make sure you’re near the docking station when you use it. Please note: You have to be 18 or over to pay for a bike. You also need a credit or debit card-cash is not accepted. 1. How much does it cost to rent a bike for 3 hours? A. £9.9. B. £1.65. C. £3.3 D. £6.6 2. What should you pay attention to when renting a bike via an app? A. Making an advance booking. B. Carrying enough money. C. Keeping the time limit in mind. D. Offering your personal details. 3. What is the main topic of the text? A. A bike docking station. B. Service for renting bikes. C. Having a trip in London. D. An app used for hiring bikes. A 2. C 3. How much does It cost? 故选A。 由文章倒数第二段中的“However, using the app does not reserve a bike. You still only have 10 minutes to use the release code, so make sure you’re near the docking station when you use it. (但是,使用该应用程序并不能预订自行车。您仍然只有10分钟的时间来使用释放码,因此请确保在使用释放码时您已靠近停靠站。)”可知,应该注意的是记住时间限制。故选C。 【3题详解】 主旨大意题。通读全文,尤其是由文章第一段“Renting a bike is not only one of the most pleasant ways to travel around the back streets of London; it’s also one of the cheapest. B。 B Shane Grammer’s artwork can be found in cities in Mexico, South Korea, Dubai and beyond. In the past years, it’s the murals (壁画) he painted on damaged walls throughout the town of Paradise, California that have gained attention and touched viewers. In 2018 the Camp Fire, the deadliest wildfire in California’s history, swept through Paradise, flattening entire communities, killing scores of people, and displacing tens of thousands. Grammer, whose hometown was just 15 miles from Paradise, was living with his family and working in the Los Angeles area when he saw accounts of the destruction on his friends’ social media pages. A single mother he knew shared a photo of ash and rubble (碎石) where her home once stood. A childhood friend’s post showed her burned-down house. After he saw a photo of a friend Shane Edwards’ home, which had been reduced to a brick wall with only a chimney standing, he was driven to paint it. With Edward’s permission, Grammer then used spray (喷) paint to transform Edwards’ burnt chimney into a strikingly black- and- white portrait of a woman, a piece he called “Beauty Among the Ashes”. Once the image was posted on Instagram, the victims of the fire, especially, could not contain themselves. “You bring beauty and hope,” one posted. Over three months, the 47-year-old created a series of more than a dozen spray-painted murals on the remains of buildings and vehicles made useless by the flames. The images included a victim of the fire, a young girl who survived but lost her house, and a series of religious characters. As a street artist, Grammer has committed his life to creating more art installations (装置艺术) all over the world that connect people through tragic life events. He has started a foundation called the Art Through Hope Foundation where he intends to bring peace through his art to those affected by tragedy. “I want to do something powerful and make art that emotionally influences people,” said Grammer in an interview with KRCR. “I think any artist would consider that as their ultimate goal. And to me, that is the biggest miracle I feel like.” 4. What has led to Grammer’s rise to fame? A. The post of a burnt-down house. B. The Art Through Hope Foundation. C. His art installations all over the world. D. His paintings on the ruins in Paradise. 5. Why did Grammer paint murals after the Camp Fire? A. To bring hope to the victims. B. To record the wildfire. C. To remember his friend's home. D. To add beauty to the ashes. 6. What does the underlined word “that” in the last paragraph refer to? A. Working miracles in art. B. Creating touching art. C. Doing something amazing. D. Bringing peace. 7 What can be a suitable title for the text? A. From Paradise to Worldwide: Street Artist’s Journey B. From Ashes to Art: Street Artist’s Murals of Hope C. From Mural to Miracle: Shane Grammer’s Art Mission D. From Tragedy to Hope: the Story of Shane Grammer 【答案】4. D 5. A 6. B 7. 根据文章第一段 “In the past years, it’s the murals (壁画) he painted on damaged walls throughout the town of Paradise, California that have gained attention and touched viewers.(在过去的几年里, 他在加利福尼亚州天堂镇的破损墙壁上画的壁画引起了人们的关注,触动了观众。)” 根据文章第三段“‘You bring beauty and hope,’ one posted.(‘你带来了美丽和希望。’一个人发帖说。)”可知,Grammer在野火后画壁画是为了给受害者带来希望。故选A。 根据文章最后一段“‘I want to do something powerful and make art that emotionally influences people,’ said Grammer in an interview with KRCR. ‘I think any artist would consider that as their ultimate goal.’(‘我想做一些有影响力的事情,创作出能够感动人的艺术,’Grammer在接受KRCR 采访时说。‘我认为任何艺术家都会把这看作是他们的最终目标。’)” 可知,“that”指的是创造感动人的艺术。故选B。 【7题详解】 主旨大意题。根据全文内容,结合第一段“In the past years, it’s the murals (壁画) he painted on damaged walls throughout the town of Paradise, California that have gained attention and touched viewers.(在过去的几年里, 他在加利福尼亚州天堂镇的破损墙壁上画的壁画引起了人们的关注,触动了观众。)” B。 C A new kind of fuel made from the power of the sun, which could revolutionize motoring, has been invented by scientists. The solar-powered technology changes carbon dioxide and water into liquid fuel that can be directly dropped into a vehicle’s engine. The researchers from the University of Cambridge controlled and used the power of photosynthesis (光合作用) to transform CO2, water and sunlight into multi-carbon fuels — ethanol and propanol (乙醇和丙醇) — in a single step. These fuels have a high energy density and can be easily stored or transported, according to scientists whose work was published in Nature Energy. “Shining sunlight on the artificial leaves and getting liquid fuel from carbon dioxide and water is an amazing bit of chemistry,” said Dr Rahaman, the new study’s first author. “Normally, when you try to change CO2 into another chemical product, you almost always get CO or syngas, but here, we’ve been able to produce a practical liquid fuel just using the power of the sun.” They managed this by developing a specific catalyst (催化剂), optimized to allow the artificial leaves to produce more complex chemicals. Unlike fossil fuel, these solar fuels produce net zero carbon emissions, and unlike most bioethanol, they do not take any agricultural land away from food production. “While the technology is only in the laboratory phase, the ‘artificial leaves’ are an important step in the transition away from a fossil fuel-based economy,” the researchers said. Bioethanol is often regarded as a cleaner alternative to gas since it’s made from plants instead of fossil fuel. The United States is the world’s largest bioethanol producer. Almost 45% of all corn grown in the USA is used for ethanol production. Currently, the artificial leaves and the specific catalyst are proof of concept devices and demonstrate only limited performance. The researchers are now working to optimize the light absorbers so that they can better absorb sunlight and optimize the catalyst so it can transform more sunlight into fuel. Further work will also be needed so the device can be mass-produced and make large volumes of fuel. 8. What is a potential advantage of the new fuels? A. Accelerating photosynthesis. B. Storing ethanol and propanol. C. Promoting the use of renewable energy. D. Increasing the speed of current vehicles. 9. What did Dr Rahaman mainly want to show in paragraph 3? A. The components of the artificial leaves. B. The difficulty of changing CO2 into CO. C. The innovation of the transformation process. D. The factors of producing a practical liquid fuel. 10. What did the researchers say about the new fuels? A. They are less economical than fossil fuel. B. They mark a significant shift from fossil fuel. C. They are merely appropriate for laboratory use. D. They require more agricultural land than bioethanol. 11. What does the last paragraph tell us about the artificial leaf technology? A. Its ability to thoroughly replace fossil fuel. B. Its improving efficiency and production capacity. C. Its present widespread application and performance. D. Its immediate impact on the mass-producing artificial leaves. C 9. C 10. B 11. 根据第一段“The solar-powered technology changes carbon dioxide and water into liquid fuel that can be directly dropped into a vehicle’s engine.(这种太阳能技术将二氧化碳和水转化为液体燃料,可以直接注入汽车的发动机)”可知,这种燃料是通过太阳能技术将二氧化碳和水进行转化而来的,因此其潜在优势是促进可再生能源的使用。 根据第三段““Shining sunlight on the artificial leaves and getting liquid fuel from carbon dioxide and water is an amazing bit of chemistry,” said Dr Rahaman, the new study’s first author. “Normally, when you try to change CO2 into another chemical product, you almost always get CO or syngas, but here, we’ve been able to produce a practical liquid fuel just using the power of the sun.”(这项新研究的第一作者Dr Rahaman说:“将阳光照射在人造叶子上,从二氧化碳和水中获取液体燃料,这是一门令人惊叹的化学。”他说:“通常情况下,当你试图将二氧化碳转化为另一种化学产品时,你几乎总是得到一氧化碳或合成气,但在这里,我们已经能够利用太阳的力量生产出一种实用的液体燃料”。)”可知,Dr Rahaman主要展示转换过程的创新,通常情况只能得到一氧化碳或合成气,但这次却能够利用太阳的力量生产出一种实用的液体燃料。故选C。 【10题详解】 细节理解题。根据第四段““While the technology is only in the laboratory phase, the ‘artificial leaves’ are an important step in the transition away from a fossil fuel-based economy,” the researchers said.(研究人员说:“虽然这项技术还处于实验室阶段,但‘人造叶子’是向脱离化石燃料经济转型的重要一步。)”可知,研究人员认为这种新能源标志着从化石燃料的重大转变。故选B。 【11题详解】 主旨大意题。根据文章最后一段“Currently, the artificial leaves and the specific catalyst are proof of concept devices and demonstrate only limited performance. The researchers are now working to optimize the light absorbers so that they can better absorb sunlight and optimize the catalyst so it can transform more sunlight into fuel. Further work will also be needed so the device can be mass-produced and make large volumes of fuel.(目前,人工叶子和特定的催化剂只是概念验证装置,只表现出有限的性能。研究人员正在努力优化光吸收器,以便更好地吸收阳光,并优化催化剂,使其能够将更多的阳光转化为燃料。还需要进一步的工作,以便该设备可以大规模生产和制造大量的燃料。)”可知,最后一段主要讲的是人工叶技术的提高效率和生产能力。故选B。 D The growing interaction between humans and artificial intelligence (AI) is shaping a new way of thinking, known as System 0. This new cognitive (认知的) framework exists outside the human mind and works as an external “thinking assistant”. System 0 works alongside the two established models of human thought: System l, which is fast, intuitive (直觉的) , and automatic, and System 2, which is slower, more analytical, and reflective. Just as an external drive allows us to store data that are not present on the computer, and we can work by connecting our drive to a PC wherever we are. AI, with its powerful processing and data-handling capabilities, can represent an external circuit to the human brain capable of enhancing it. Hence the idea of System 0, which is essentially a form of “external” thinking that relies on the capabilities of AI. By managing enormous amounts of data, AI can process information and provide suggestions based on complex algorithms (算法). However, unlike intuitive or analytical thinking, System 0 can perform calculations, make predictions, and generate responses without truly “understanding” the content of the data it works with. The integration of system 0 into human cognition raises some concerns. One of the most pressing ones is the potential damage to our critical thinking and reasoning abilities. If we blindly trust the output of system 0 without questioning it, we risk losing our ability to think independently, leading to a weaker capacity for innovation and creativity. At the same time, it is important to acknowledge the potential benefits of system 0 in increasing our cognitive capabilities and addressing complex challenges that may be beyond the capacity of human intelligence alone. Despite the polarized visions on the topic of the evolution of AI, we recommend that this revolutionary system be the object of a deep, shared reflection on how we plan to integrate it into the future of human thought. To ensure that AI remains a tool to enhance — rather than decrease — our cognitive autonomy, clear boundaries must be established. 12. What is the purpose of paragraph 1? A. To state AI’s influence on daily life. B. To introduce a new cognitive model. C. To compare three thinking systems. D. To discuss AI’s role in decision-making. 13. Which can best describe the essence of System 0? A. A deep meaning seeker. B. An analytical thinking pioneer. C A smart decision-maker. D. An external cognitive enhancer. 14. What is the author’s tone carried in paragraph 4? A. Pushy. B. Indifferent. C. Objective. D. Dismissive. 15. What will the follow-up paragraph most probably talk about? A. Moral dilemmas in human-AI integration. B. Possibly promising prospects of System 0. C. Technical challenges in sharpening System 0. D. Specific guidelines on using System 0 critically. 【答案】12. B 13. D 14. C 15. D 【解析】 【导语】这是一篇说明文。文章主要介绍了一种新的认知模型——系统0,介绍了其本质以及工作原理等情况。 【12题详解】 推理判断题。根据第一段“The growing interaction between humans and artificial intelligence (AI) is shaping a new way of thinking, known as System 0. This new cognitive (认知的) framework exists outside the human mind and works as an external “thinking assistant”. System 0 works alongside the two established models of human thought: System l, which is fast, intuitive (直觉的) , and automatic, and System 2, which is slower, more analytical, and reflective.(人类与人工智能(AI)之间日益增长的互动正在形成一种新的思维方式,即系统0。这个新的认知框架存在于人类思维之外,作为一个外部的“思维助手”。系统0与两种已建立的人类思维模式一起工作:快速、直觉和自动的系统1,以及较慢、更善于分析和反思的系统2)”可知,第1段的目的是介绍一种新的认知模型——系统0。故选B。 【13题详解】 细节理解题。根据第二段“Hence the idea of System 0, which is essentially a form of “external” thinking that relies on the capabilities of AI.(因此就有了System 0的概念,它本质上是一种依赖于AI能力的“外部”思维形式)”可知,系统0的本质是外部认知增强剂。故选D。 【14题详解】 推理判断题。根据第四段“The integration of system 0 into human cognition raises some concerns. One of the most pressing ones is the potential damage to our critical thinking and reasoning abilities. If we blindly trust the output of system 0 without questioning it, we risk losing our ability to think independently, leading to a weaker capacity for innovation and creativity. At the same time, it is important to acknowledge the potential benefits of system 0 in increasing our cognitive capabilities and addressing complex challenges that may be beyond the capacity of human intelligence alone.(将系统0整合到人类认知中引起了一些关注。 根据最后一段“To ensure that AI remains a tool to enhance — rather than decrease — our cognitive autonomy, clear boundaries must be established.(为了确保人工智能仍然是增强而不是降低我们认知自主性的工具,必须建立明确的界限)”可知,接下来的段落最有可能讨论严格使用系统0的具体指导方针。故选D。 第二节 (共5小题;每小题2.5分,满分12.5分) 阅读下面短文,从短文后的选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项.选项中有两项为多余选项. However, the youngster responds, “Why am I going to school if my phone already knows everything?” As a senior high student, I think it is essential to acquire not only knowledge, but also cooperation and communication skills at school. Just after 8 a. m. on a beautiful Sunday morning, they set off. Brandon’s backpack held his phone, Clif bars (能量棒), packets of apple sauce, apples, water bottles and fishing gear. Brandon had planned a varied route up the mountain. The winding upward slope was fun and uneventful. Near the top, thick snow blanketed the path. Excitedly, the kids raced across the hard surface. They shared the second-last Clif bar and rested for an hour. Brandon looked around. His phone showed 1:30 p. m. and no signals. When the kids started down, Brandon said, “You guys really want to find those fishing lakes, don’t you?” “Oh, yes!” Ezri said. So they took an unfamiliar route down the other side of the mountain. By the time Brandon realized the path had become an animal trail alongside a stream, it made sense to keep following it. The stream sang to them, and they kept following it down. Mid afternoon, when the sun disappeared behind heavy gray clouds, they suddenly felt lost, cold and hungry. For half an hour they cautiously moved downward until they reached a steep cliff (悬崖) edge. The stream became a noisy, six-metre waterfall. Mist enveloped them as the water raced over a huge rock. Brandon cursed (咒骂) himself for taking an unknown route down. They held hands and inched down until Oliver slid on a loose rock and all three went flying. Brandon wiped blood from his forehead and gathered his senses. Was anyone hurt? Oliver, crying and shivering, seemed okay. Ezri was weeping, but she too appeared uninjured. Brandon himself didn’t feel anything worse than the wound on his forehead. The backpack was stuck in the rocks six meters away. He saw no use trying to find it back. The air was cold and getting colder. They were wet and tired. 注意: 1.所续写短文的词数应为150左右; 2.请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。 To save the kids, Brandon realized he had to look for a way out alone. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ A helicopter with the father and many volunteers set off immediately. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】 To save the kids, Brandon realized he had to look for a way out alone. After he made the decision, he wrapped his coat around them and kissed each of them on the forehead. “Stay here, no matter what. I’ll go for help,” he repeated several times in a trembling voice. In the following hours, Brandon walked through the bush and even suffered another bad fall on the way. Exhausted and bloodied, he emerged from the forest and bumped into a family of hikers, who called 911. A helicopter with the father and many volunteers set off immediately. On the return trip, Brandon anxiously described the general location of the children to the rescuers. Finally, after a long search, they successfully located the poor children. Upon the helicopter’s arrival, Brandon jumped off and ran to embrace his children, moved to see so many strangers in bright red jackets. Every time he thinks of bright red jackets, he would feel he was not alone there’s always someone out there who is willing to help. 词汇激活 行为类 ①穿过:walk through/pass through ②碰巧遇到:bump into/run into/come across ③拥抱:embrace/hug 情绪类 ①焦急地:anxiously/worriedly ②感动的:moved/touched 【点睛】【高分句型1】After he made the decision, he wrapped his coat around them and kissed each of them on the forehead.(由连接词after引导时间状语从句) 【高分句型2】Exhausted and bloodied, he emerged from the forest and bumped into a family of hikers, who called 911.(由关系代词who引导非限制性定语从句) 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $$ 大庆实验中学实验二部2022级高三得分训练 (一) 英语试题 第一部分 听力 (共两节,满分 30 分) 第一节 (共5小题;每小题1.5分,满分7.5分) 听下面5段对话。每段对话后有一个小题,从题中所给的A、B、C三个选项中选出最佳选项。听完每段对话后,你都有10秒钟的时间来回答有关小题和阅读下一小题。每段对话仅读一遍。 1. B Shane Grammer’s artwork can be found in cities in Mexico, South Korea, Dubai and beyond. In the past years, it’s the murals (壁画) he painted on damaged walls throughout the town of Paradise, California that have gained attention and touched viewers. In 2018, the Camp Fire, the deadliest wildfire in California’s history, swept through Paradise, flattening entire communities, killing scores of people, and displacing tens of thousands. A To bring hope to the victims. B. To record the wildfire. C. To remember his friend's home. D. To add beauty to the ashes. 6. What does the underlined word “that” in the last paragraph refer to? A. Working miracles in art. B. Creating touching art. C. Doing something amazing. D. Bringing peace. 7. What can be a suitable title for the text? A. From Paradise to Worldwide: Street Artist’s Journey B. From Ashes to Art: Street Artist’s Murals of Hope C. From Mural to Miracle: Shane Grammer’s Art Mission D. From Tragedy to Hope: the Story of Shane Grammer C A new kind of fuel made from the power of the sun, which could revolutionize motoring, has been invented by scientists. D The growing interaction between humans and artificial intelligence (AI) is shaping a new way of thinking, known as System 0. C. A smart decision-maker. 第二节 (共5小题;每小题2.5分,满分12.5分) 阅读下面短文,从短文后的选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项.选项中有两项为多余选项. In recent years, outdoor sports have become increasingly popular. When the kids started down Brandon said, “You guys really want to find those fishing lakes, don’t you?” “Oh, yes!” Ezri said. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $$
