Have students look at the picture on page 18 and answer the following questions. What are the people doing in the picture? Where do you think they are? How do you feel when seeing this picture? 2. Have students first predict what we will do in this unit and then read the unit overview on page 18 to answer the following question. With the help of the picture and the title of “Neighbourhood”, can you guess what we will do in this unit? Step 2 View and answer Have students look at the four pictures in Part A on page 19 and answer the following questions. What places can you see in the pictures? Who works in these places? Step 3 Listen, label and match Have students listen to Simon talking about his neighbours and finish Part A on page 19. Step 4 Talk and share 1. Have students talk about Simon’s neighbours’ jobs and workplaces with a complete sentence. 2. Have students introduce two or three of their own neighbours’ jobs and workplaces. Step 5 Listen and fill Have students listen to Amy and Simon’s conversation in Part B on page 19 and complete the table. Step 8 Introduce and share 1. Have students work in pairs and introduce their own neighbourhoods to each other. 2. Have students finish Part C on page 19. Step 9 Homework Compulsory homework: 1. Polish your sentences about your neighbours and share them in pairs. 2. Preview Reading on P20.
