Have you ever heard of fennec foxes(耳廓狐)? The fennec fox is the smallest of all the world's foxes. Its head and body are only 24.1 to 40.6 cm while its tail can be 17.8 to 31 cm. 1 They live mainly in desert areas of North Africa. It has to avoid the daytime heat of the desert environment. 2
These foxes are creamcolored with blacktipped tails. They have long, thick, soft fur coats with a thick undercoat. It helps them keep warm during cold nights and protects them from the hot sun during the day. __3__ However, the most interesting part of them is their large ears. Their batlike(蝙蝠状的) ears send out the body heat and help keep the foxes cool.
4 They have been known to jump in the air 0.6 m high from a standing position. And they are able to jump over a distance of 1.2 m.
These foxes live in small groups of up to ten members. 5 Like most desert animals, it has the ability to go for long periods without water.

Polish(波兰的) Children No Longer
Have to Do Homework
Ola Kozak is happy. The 11yearold, who loves music and drawing, thinks she'll have more free time for her hobbies after Poland's government put strict limits(限制) on the amount(数量) of homework that younger school children will get.
Teachers can no longer give required homework to kids in first to third grades. In grades four to eight, homework is now optional(可选择的) and it won't be counted in endofyear grades.
But not everyone likes the change.
“If there is something that will make students enjoy school more, then it will probably be good both for the students and for the school,” said Ola's father, Pawel Kozak.
However, his wife, Magda Kozak, disagreed. She believes homework is a good way to remember what you've been doing at school during the day.
Teachers aren't sure either. The head of the teachers' union said many thought the change was made too quickly.
Discussions about homework are common around the world. While some studies have shown that homework may not really help young learners, other experts say that it can encourage good habits.
In Korea, homework limits were set for primary schools in 2017. However, teenagers often study long to pass tests and to get into university.
In the US, some primary schools have taken away all homework to give children more time to play and spend with families.
Pasi Sahlberg, a Finnish education expert, said that the value of homework depends on what kind of homework is given.
