Many teachers are afraid that students will use the artificial intelligence (AI) tool ChatGPT to write their reports or do their homework. But other educators are including (包括) it in the classroom.
Donnie Piercey is a teacher in Kentucky. He told his 23 fifth-grade students to try and make full use of the tool that was creating writing. Piercey says his job is to prepare students for a world where knowledge (知识) of AI will be needed. He describes ChatGPT as just the newest technology (技术). But it also makes teachers worry about that students may be not honest (诚实的) in the exams. “As educators, we haven't found out the best way to use artificial intelligence yet,” he added. “But it’s coming, whether we want it or not.”
What is ChatGPT? ChatGPT is a very modern AI chatbot trained by OpenAI which communicates in a conversational (对话的) way. The conversational program makes it possible for ChatGPT to answer questions, agree about its mistakes, challenge incorrect ideas, and refuse wrong orders. ChatGPT quickly became popular after it came out last November. Many educators around the country say schools need time to get ready for the chatbot. But they also think saying no to AI will be useless against students.
______ One student said, “They can help students who have trouble putting their thoughts into writing.” “You can use it for advice, but should not use it to do all the work. You shouldn’t fully depend on it,” said McCormick, a ten-year-old student. “You’re not learning anything if you input (输入) what you want, and then it gives you the answer.”
28.What is NOT Piercey’s opinion on ChatGPT?
A.We should fully use ChatGPT which creates writing.
B.The artificial intelligence is coming.
C.With ChatGPT, people needn’t worry about students may be dishonest in the exams.
D.Teachers should get students ready for a world where AI knowledge will be needed.
29.What does the underlined word “it” in Paragraph 2 refer to?
A.artificial intelligence B.the best way
C.the possibility D.being not honest
30.What can we learn from Paragraph 3?
A.ChatGPT can ask and answer questions itself.
B.ChatGPT can challenge correct ideas.
C.ChatGPT can refuse to accept orders which are not right.
D.Saying no to AI will be useless against educators around the country.
31.Which of the following can be put in the ________?
A.Piercey shows the good and bad parts of working with chatbots.
B.Piercey’s students say yes to working with chatbots.
C.Piercey’s students can see the good and bad parts of working with chatbot.
D.Piercey’s students say no to working with chatbots.
【答案】28.C 29.A 30.C 31.C
根据“But it also makes teachers worry about that students may be not honest in the exams.”
根据“As educators, we haven’t found out the best way to use artificial intelligence yet,” he added. “But it’s coming, whether we want it or not.” 故选A。
根据“The conversational program makes it possible for ChatGPT to answer questions, agree about its mistakes, challenge incorrect ideas, and refuse wrong orders.”
根据后文“One student said, ‘They can help students who have trouble putting their thoughts into writing.’ ‘You can use it for advice, but should not use it to do all the work. You shouldn’t fully depend on it,’ said McCormick, a ten-year-old student.”

I’m Mike. Last summer, my grandmother introduced me to Baduanjin, a traditional Chinese exercise. At first, I was doubtful about how slow, simple movements could make a difference. However, I decided to give it a try, and it became one of the most valuable experiences of my life.
Every morning, my grandmother and I visited a nearby park, where she guided me through the eight movements of Baduanjin. The first exercise, “Holding the Sky with Both Hands”, felt strange at first. I stretched (伸展) my arms up while keeping my feet firmly (稳固的) on the ground. Though it looked easy, I quickly felt my muscles (肌肉) working.
As the days passed, I began to enjoy practicing Baduanjin. The movements were slow and graceful (优雅的), like a dance. My favorite was “Drawing the Bow to Shoot the Eagle”, where I imagined holding a bow and arrow (弓箭), making me feel strong and focused.
What surprised me most was how calm and relaxed I felt after every practice. Deep breathing and easy stretches cleared my mind like magic.
Dear fellow students,
Nowadays, most students choose to stay in the classroom instead of going outside to exercise during break time, which is harmful to their development. We usually sit at our seats for study for a long time. Our bodies and minds need a good rest outside the classroom. It’s important for us to get some exercise, so that we can get a full-development of our bodies and minds.
We can do different kinds of exercises to relax and make ourselves stronger. For example, running can get the whole body moving and reduce our stress. Playing in team sports is a good chance for us to get on well with our classmates and build teamwork, such as football and volleyball. Some simple exercises, like walking, can also help us relax and protect our eyesight.
For our health and development, I hope we can all go out of the classroom and try to do some exercise. Get moving and enjoy your break time!

Even when preparing for midterm exams, my stress seemed lighter, and I felt I had more energy. My grandmother smiled and told me, “Baduanjin isn’t just good for your body, it also helps your heart feel peaceful.”
By summer’s end, I had learned all eight exercises and began practicing at home. 60.Now, whenever I’m tired or stressed, I take a few minutes to do Baduanjin, recalling those peaceful mornings with my grandmother. Baduanjin has taught me the importance of balance in both exercise and life—a gift I will always treasure.
56.Where did Mike practice Baduanjin together with his grandmother?
57.What is Mike’s favorite movement?
58.How did Mike clear his mind during the practice?
59.Did Mike continue to practice Baduanjin after the summer?
