Now in its third year, it received 320 entries from 14 countries. Here’s a closer look at the four winners, who represent a range of disabilities. Raindrops on Petals Deepanshi Sharma saw this pomegranate flower one evening in a park near her home in Delhi. She took it as a quiet reminder of life’s delicate beauty. Although Sharma has to use a wheelchair after being diagnosed with Pott’s disease, she chooses to be happy, believing that everything happens for a reason. Congruence David Carpenter took this striking shot of the Toronto Reference Library. With geometric patterns and sharp lines, it highlights two figures climbing stairs apart. “Every disabled person has felt that loneliness at some point in time,” he says, relating to his Alzheimer’s diagnosis. Yet he chooses photography to share his love for life, not giving in to depression. Fishermen Casting Their Nets Sai Mohith has been blind in his left eye since birth. He will never forget the evening he photographed this scene. “Seeing a fisherman keeping his boat steady in the Godavari, a river famous for its high waves, while his coworkers cast nets, reminded me of how we try to keep our lives afloat despite the challenges that come our way,” he says. Balancing for Life Awinash Kulkarni, who lost his leg in an accident, now works at Helpers of the Handicapped. While photographing this boy performing risky acrobatics (杂技) to support his family, Kulkarni reflected on his own journey, grateful for his good job and family’s support enabling his photography pursuits. 1. Who is the Global Ability Photography Challenge intended for? A. Unemployed workers. B. Nature lovers. C. Low-income individuals. D. Physically-challenged people. 2. Which photo displays a sense of loneliness? A. Raindrops on Petals. B. Congruence. C. Fishermen Casting Their Nets. D. Balancing for Life. 3. What do Sai Mohith and Awinash Kulkarni have in common? A. They are blind in one eye. B. They have supportive family. C. They record struggles in daily life. D. They voice against dangerous performance. D 2. B 3. 根据第一段中“The Global Ability Photography Challenge is organized by Youth 4 Jobs, a nonprofit organization in India working to help people with disabilities access education and employment. (“全球能力摄影挑战赛”由印度非营利组织Youth 4 Jobs主办,该组织致力于帮助残障人士获得教育和就业机会)”可知,这项比赛是为残障人士举办的。故选D项。 【2题详解】 细节理解题。根据Congruence部分中““Every disabled person has felt that loneliness at some point in time,” he says, relating to his Alzheimer’s diagnosis. (“每个残障人士都曾在某个时刻感受过这种孤独,”他谈到自己被诊断出阿尔茨海默病时说)”可知,Congruence这张照片表现出一种孤独感。故选B项。 【3题详解】 细节理解题。根据Fishermen Casting Their Nets部分中““Seeing a fisherman keeping his boat steady in the Godavari, a river famous for its high waves, while his coworkers cast nets, reminded me of how we try to keep our lives afloat despite the challenges that come our way,” he says. B At 18, British writer Lara Prior-Palmer chose an extraordinary path: the Mongol Deroy, an extremely challenging 1,000-kilometer horse race across Mongolia’s wilderness. In her first book, Rough Magic, Prior-Palmer describes her ride in all its pain, boredom, and ultimate success. “Somehow,” she writes at the beginning, “against all the odds, I won a race labeled the longest and toughest in the world and became the youngest person, and first female, ever to have done so.” Yet her story avoids overused phrases of self-praise, balancing vivid landscapes with honest words about painful saddle (马鞍) wounds and bad-smelling outdoor toilets, making it an unusual pleasure to read. For much of the book, she and her horses — 25 in all, a new horse every 40 km — drag slowly with great effort across a landscape that resists Prior-Palmer’s sight. She’s especially gifted with metaphor (隐喻) — when it rains, “there appears a smooth path behind us, as though the earth is water and we have been fish, until now,” and the clouds are “piled high as if lining up for a funeral”. For every gorgeous metaphor, there’s a pair of wet riding trousers or a toilet that’s only “a smelly hole in the ground with wet boards above to stop you from slipping into it.” By the end of Rough Magic, Prior-Palmer is amazed by the land around her. “Living in desertion,” she writes, “the land knows what I don’t: no one can carve a story into earth or sky. The wind sweeps the clouds away, the stage clears for another day.” She keeps competing, while trying to persuade herself to be more patient, and humbler. Her final hope is not to win the race — though she wants that, too — but to let the race make her free. Rough Magic seems to stand as proof that she succeeded. And as I read it from the skyless comfort of my couch, I briefly felt a bit freer, too. 4. How did Prior-Palmer feel about her performance in Mongol Derby? A. Unsatisfied. B. Pitiful. C. Expected. D. Proud. 5. What is the language style of Rough Magic? A. Plain. B. Humorous. C. Descriptive. D. Logical. 6. Why does the land impress Prior-Palmer? A. It blocks heavy winds. B. It mirrors human evolution. C. It varies with time and weather. D. It is inclusive and ever-changing. 7. What is Rough Magic about? A. A bittersweet journey. B. A well-grounded theory. C. An inspiring fairy tale. D. An impressive landscape. D 5. C 6. D 7. 根据第二段““Somehow,” she writes at the beginning, “against all the odds, I won a race labeled the longest and toughest in the world and became the youngest person, and first female, ever to have done so.” (“不知怎么的,”她在开头写道,“克服了所有的困难,我赢得了这场被称为世界上最长、最艰难的比赛,成为有史以来最年轻的人,也是第一位做到这一点的女性。”)”可知,Prior-Palmer成为有史以来最年轻的人,也是第一位做到这一点的女性,所以应是感到骄傲。故选D项。 【5题详解】 推理判断题。根据第二段“Yet her story avoids overused phrases of self-praise, balancing vivid landscapes with honest words about painful saddle (马鞍) wounds and bad-smelling outdoor toilets, making it an unusual pleasure to read.(然而,她的故事避免了过度的自我赞美,在生动的风景和对痛苦的马蹄伤和难闻的户外厕所的诚实描述之间取得了平衡,使其成为一种不同寻常的阅读乐趣)”可知,《Rough Magic》的语言风格是描述性的。 根据倒数第二段“By the end of Rough Magic, Prior-Palmer is amazed by the land around her. “Living in desertion,” she writes, “the land knows what I don’t: no one can carve a story into earth or sky. The wind sweeps the clouds away, the stage clears for another day.”(在《Rough Magic》的尾声,Prior-Palmer被周遭的天地所震撼。“栖居在这片荒芜中,”她写道,“大地知晓我所不知的真理:无人能在山川苍穹刻下永恒的故事。风会抹平云迹,舞台每日重置。”)”可知,这片土地是包容和不断变化的让Prior-Palmer印象深刻。故选D项。 【7题详解】 推理判断题。根据第二段“In her first book, Rough Magic, Prior-Palmer describes her ride in all its pain, boredom, and ultimate success.(在她的第一本书《Rough Magic》中,Prior-Palmer描述了她经历的所有痛苦、无聊和最终的成功)”可知,Rough Magic是关于一次苦乐参半的旅程。故选A项。 C Not long ago, Uganda used to be home to both the black and northern white rhinos (犀牛). But by the early 1980s, due to illegal hunting and trade, and political instability, native populations — once thought to number around 700 — were wiped out. More than a decade later, an initiative to bring back the majestic animals was born, with newly formed charity Rhino Fund Uganda approaching Captain Charles Roy, former pilot and owner of Ziwa cattle ranch (农场), which they had targeted as ideal rhino habitat, with the idea that he should move the herds of cattle out, and rhino in. Roy agreed. In 2005 and 2006, six southern white rhinos were relocated to the ranch. The result is a big success: the rhino population at Ziwa is now eight times the original number, with five born in the last three months. Wendy Roy, daughter of Captain Roy, has since taken over some of Ziwa’s management. Brought up between the UK and Uganda, she admits that she was not born a conservationist, but now, as she gets more involved, she is starting to see the magic in it. “Sometimes in the evenings, when I see the rhinos coming near, I think, ‘Wow, this looks like the Garden of Eden,’” she says. “It’s incredible: not just rhinos but zebras, antelopes, waterbucks. It’s peaceful.” Roy believes this calm setting is one of the secrets to Ziwa’s success. Also key are the rangers who provide 24/7 protection. This stops those seeking rhino horns for the illegal wildlife trade, and it allows rangers to monitor rhino behavior, gathering detailed data that can be used to inform rhino conservation globally. It has always been Ziwa’s central mission to raise the number of rhinos so that they can be moved from Ziwa to other national parks across the country. If the move is successful, the benefits could be significant. This will not only help to enhance biodiversity, but boost Uganda’s wildlife tourism. 8. What caused rhinos’ distinction in Uganda by the 1980s? A Human activities. B. Food shortages. C. Disease outbreaks. D. Climate changes. 9. How many rhinos are there at Ziwa cattle ranch now? A. 700. B. 6. C. 48. D. 43. 10. What contributes to Ziwa Ranch’s success in rhino conservation? A. Constant protection. B. Wendy Roy’s leadership. C. Behavior data collection. D. Laws against illegal trade. 11. What can be a suitable title for the text? A. History of Ziwa Cattle Ranch B. Restoring Rhinos in Uganda C. Rise of Uganda’s Wildlife Tourism D. Challenges of Moving Rhinos 【答案】8. A 9. C 10. A 11. 根据第一段中“But by the early 1980s, due to illegal hunting and trade, and political instability, native populations — once thought to number around 700 — were wiped out. (但到了20世纪80年代初,由于非法狩猎、贸易以及政局动荡,当地一度约有700头的犀牛种群已全部灭绝)”可知,20世纪80年代,人类活动导致了乌干达犀牛的灭绝。故选A项。 根据第二段中“In 2005 and 2006, six southern white rhinos were relocated to the ranch. The result is a big success: the rhino population at Ziwa is now eight times the original number, with five born in the last three months. (2005至2006年间,六头南方白犀牛被迁至该牧场。这一举措取得了巨大成功:如今Ziwa牧场的犀牛数量已达最初引入时的八倍,仅过去三个月就有五头小犀牛诞生)”可知,现在Ziwa牧场有48头(=6×8)犀牛。故选C项。 【10题详解】 细节理解题。根据第四段中“Also key are the rangers who provide 24/7 protection. (同样关键的是巡逻员提供的全天候保护)”可知,成功关键包括巡逻员的持续保护。故选A项。 通读全文,尤其是第二段中“More than a decade later, an initiative to bring back the majestic animals was born, with newly formed charity Rhino Fund Uganda approaching Captain Charles Roy, former pilot and owner of Ziwa cattle ranch (农场), which they had targeted as ideal rhino habitat, with the idea that he should move the herds of cattle out, and rhino in. Roy agreed. D CRISPR, a groundbreaking gene-editing technology, has transformed biology. Yet students rarely get the chance to understand the technology by using it themselves. To bridge this gap, a team from Stanford, led by Professor Stanley Qi and students Matthew Lau and Marvin Collins, created CRISPRK it — a low-cost, safe classroom tool priced at just $2 per student, allowing students to perform gene-editing experiments and analyze results using just a smartphone. “Our goal is to democratize biology,” said Lau. But before making this vision a reality, the team had to overcome the barriers like costly equipment — even pipettes (移液管) alone can cost $500. For Lau and Collins, the answer was to do a lot of experimentation. After some 50 separate experiments, they switched to using inoculation loops (接种环) — instruments tipped with a small loop for sampling — after a failed run of the tests. Besides, they also set eyes on the key reagents (试剂) for the experiment, which make up about 80% of the cost of the kit. Happily, Qi contracted to Michael Jewett, a Stanford professor of bioengineering whose lab works with one of the key reagents. Jewett’s lab produces their own reagents through bacteria. Under the guidance of Brenda Wang, a member of the Jewett lab, Collins were able to make it in-house and reduce the cost. In 2021, the team partnered with high schools to refine the kit. “Out of the 17 groups, 15 got it to work, which made me so happy,” said Collins. He was especially impressed by one high schooler who even went beyond to do a pressure test, repeating the experiment many times to see the consistency of results. “I was genuinely moved by that student’s devotion. There was a direct impact of our research on the kids, where you could see their enjoyment and investment. Perhaps this could serve as a model to bring these kinds of opportunities to classrooms,” he added. 12. Which is closest in meaning to “democratize biology” in paragraph 1? A. Raise fund for biology. B. Apply AI to biology. C. Define biology accurately. D. Make biology accessible. 13. Why did Lau and Collins finally choose inoculation loops? A. They are eco-friendly. B. They are affordable. C. They are strong enough. D. They are conveniently structured. 14. Who produced the key reagents in-house for CRISPRK it? A. Stanley Qi. B. Michael Jewett. C. Marvin Collins. D. Brenda Wang. 15. What do we know about the team’s partnership with high schools in 2021? A. It was well-received by students. B. It promoted the sale of CRISPRK it. C. It brought convenience for educators. D. It motivated students to major in biology. D 13. B 14. C 15. 根据第一段中“Yet students rarely get the chance to understand the technology by using it themselves. To bridge this gap, a team from Stanford, led by Professor Stanley Qi and students Matthew Lau and Marvin Collins, created CRISPRKit — a low cost, safe classroom tool priced at just $2 per student, allowing students to perform gene editing experiments and analyze results using just a smartphone. (然而,学生们很少有机会亲自使用这项技术来了解它。为了弥补这一差距,由斯坦福大学的斯坦利·齐教授以及学生马修·刘和马文·柯林斯领导的团队创造了CRISPRKit——一种低成本、安全的课堂工具,每个学生只需花费2美元,学生们只需使用智能手机就可以进行基因编辑实验并分析结果)”可知,团队创造低成本工具的目的是让学生有机会体验基因编辑技术,让生物学大众化。故“Our goal is to democratize biology”中“democratize biology”意思最“让生物学大众化;让生物学可接近”。 根据第二段中“But before making this vision a reality, the team had to overcome the barriers like costly equipment — even pipettes (移液管) alone can cost $500. For Lau and Collins, the answer was to do a lot of experimentation. After some 50 separate experiments, they switched to using inoculation loops (接种环) — instruments tipped with a small loop for sampling — after a failed run of the tests. (但在实现这一愿景之前,该团队必须克服昂贵设备等障碍——仅移液管一项就可能花费500美元。对于刘和柯林斯来说,解决办法是进行大量实验。在大约50次单独实验后,在一次测试失败后,他们改用接种环——一种带有小环用于取样的工具)”可知,团队面临设备成本高的问题,改用接种环是为了降低成本。所以用接种环是因为价格实惠。故选B项。 【14题详解】 细节理解题。根据第三段中“Under the guidance of Brenda Wang, a member of the Jewett lab, Collins were able to make it in house and reduce the cost. (在朱厄特实验室成员布伦达·王的指导下,柯林斯能够在内部生产这些关键试剂并降低成本)”可知,是马文·柯林斯在内部为CRISPRKit生产了关键试剂。故选C项。 15题详解】 细节理解题。根据第四段中“‘Out of the 17 groups, 15 got it to work, which made me so happy,’ said Collins. He was especially impressed by one high schooler who even went beyond to do a pressure test, repeating the experiment many times to see the consistency of results. ‘I was genuinely moved by that student’s devotion. There was a direct impact of our research on the kids, where you could see their enjoyment and investment. (柯林斯说:“在17个小组中,有15个小组成功了,这让我非常高兴。” 一名高中生甚至还进行了压力测试,多次重复实验以观察结果的一致性,这给他留下了特别深刻的印象。“那个学生的投入真的让我很感动。我们的研究对孩子们有直接的影响,从他们的快乐和投入中就能看出来)”可知,这个团队与高中的合作受到了学生们的欢迎。故选A项。 第二节(共5小题;每小题2.5分,满分12.5分) 根据短文内容,从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。 Is there a pessimist in your life-a person who thinks about the negative aspects of a situation more than the positive? ____16____. The strategy to not let a pessimist get you down is to reduce the effect pessimism has on you. The following tips may work. ____17____ Sometimes we can spend so much time worrying about others and how they are feeling that we lose sight of ourselves. Take responsibility for your own feelings and reactions towards pessimism. By focusing on your own happiness and less, you take the power away from negativity. Give attention to the person’s good qualities The individual’s views on things isn't her only feature. ____18____. So rather than fixing on the negatives, look for the good things. Is she intelligent? Supportive of you? Is she unique enough not to care what anyone else thinks about her? Pay attention to the positive aspects of a person and seek to balance out the negatives. Practice acceptance ____19____. Learning to get along with people who are not like us is an important part of self-development and socialization. Being pessimistic isn't always bad. Some researchers have argued it may actually make people happier and closer to reality because they will be more prepared and less disappointed if they consider that the worst outcome might occur. Create boundaries You may need to spend time apart from this person or distance yourself. Setting boundaries on what you discuss with the person and how long you bathe in her influence can be useful ways of overcoming your dislike of being in her presence. Of course, do not just ignore her. ____20____. A. Care about others B. Focus on yourself C. There are many more complex qualities within a person D. Don’t be too quick to dismiss people due to their pessimism E. That would be considered passive-aggressive communication F. Accepting the pessimistic ideas can make you more adaptable G. If you are optimistic, it may be hard to deal with a pessimist’s opinions 【答案】16. G 17. B 18. C 19. D 20. E 【解析】 【导语】本文是说明文。文章主要围绕“如何应对生活中的悲观主义者”这一主题展开,提供了具体的建议和策略。 【16题详解】 根据前文“Is there a pessimist in your life-a person who thinks about the negative aspects of a situation more than the positive?(在你的生活中是否有悲观主义者——一个总是考虑事情的消极方面多于积极方面的人?)”以及后文“The strategy to not let a pessimist get you down is to reduce the effect pessimism has on you.(不让悲观主义者打倒你的策略是减少悲观对你的影响)”可知前文询问在你的生活中是否有悲观主义者,后文提到不让悲观主义者打倒你,所以空处应是过渡句,G项“If you are optimistic, it may be hard to deal with a pessimist’s opinions(如果你是乐观的,可能很难处理悲观主义者的意见)”承接上文,并引出下文,提出减少悲观对你的影响的策略。故选G项。 【17题详解】 设空为本段小标题,根据后文“Sometimes we can spend so much time worrying about others and how they are feeling that we lose sight of ourselves. Take responsibility for your own feelings and reactions towards pessimism. By focusing on your own happiness and less, you take the power away from negativity.(有时候我们会花太多时间担心别人和他们的感受,而忽略了自己。对自己的情绪和对悲观的反应负责。通过关注自己的快乐和消极,你可以从消极中获得力量)”可知,本段主要讲述了关注自己的快乐和消极,你可以从消极中获得力,所以B项“Focus on yourself(关注自己)”符合本段主题,为本段小标题。故选B项。 【18题详解】 根据前文“The individual’s views on things isn't her only feature.(个人对事物的看法并不是她唯一的特点)”可知,C项“There are many more complex qualities within a person(一个人有许多更复杂的品质)”是对前文的进一步解释,并和后文“So rather than fixing on the negatives, look for the good things.(所以,与其总想着消极的一面,不如多看看好的一面)”构成因果关系。故选C项。 【19题详解】 设空位于段首,为本段中心句,根据后文“Learning to get along with people who are not like us is an important part of self-development and socialization. Being pessimistic isn't always bad. Some researchers have argued it may actually make people happier and closer to reality because they will be more prepared and less disappointed if they consider that the worst outcome might occur.(学会与不像我们的人相处是自我发展和社会化的重要组成部分。悲观并不总是坏事。一些研究人员认为,这实际上可能会让人们更快乐,更接近现实,因为如果他们考虑到最坏的结果可能会发生,他们会更有准备,更少失望)”可知,本段主要讲述了悲观情绪有时也不是坏事,要学会与不像我们的人相处,所以D项“Don’t be too quick to dismiss people due to their pessimism(不要因为别人的悲观情绪而过早地解雇他们)”符合本段主题,为本段中心句。故选D项。 【20题详解】 设空位于段尾,应是对前文的总结,根据前文“You may need to spend time apart from this person or distance yourself. Setting boundaries on what you discuss with the person and how long you bathe in her influence can be useful ways of overcoming your dislike of being in her presence. Of course, do not just ignore her.(你可能需要暂时疏远这个人,或保持适当距离。 Jack threw the papers on my desk. “Next time you want to change anything, ask me first!” He shouted before storming off. I stared at the ____21____ feeling bitter. I had changed one long sentence, and ____22____ grammar — That’s my job! Colleagues warned me about Jack’s bad temper, but ____23____ it was different. Weeks passed, and my ____24____ grew. One day, after another ____25____ comment, I marched into his office. “The way you’ve been treating me is wrong,” I said firmly. “I’ll treat you with kindness, but I won’t accept this.” Jack sat back, ____26____. The next week, he avoided me. Work documents appeared ____27____ on my desk. I left cookies on his chair and notes saying, “Hope your day is great.” Slowly, Jack ____28____. Every time we met in the hall, we shared a smile. After all, that’s what ____29____ do. A year later, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. _____30_____ took hold of me. One day, I woke up to find a bag of tulip (郁金香) seeds beside my bed, with a note reading, “If you plant them, they’ll _____31_____ next spring. Right across from our office is a small family-owned breakfast shop run by a friendly couple. Their little shop isn’t fancy, but the food is exceptional, and it’s become our go-to spot to grab something to eat before the day gets busy. The shop has a simple yet delicious menu: steamed buns, xiaolongbao (soup dumplings), steamed dumplings, and sometimes even a bowl of savory zhajiangmian (noodles with fried sauce). Everything is incredibly tasty, and every item we try has its special taste that keeps us coming back for more. But there’s one item we both love above all others: the beef buns. The beef buns are like a treasure we’re always hunting. Perfectly soft, filled with juicy beef, and just the right amount of seasoning-they’re everything you could want in a breakfast bun. But the problem is, we’re not the only ones who think so. The beef buns are always in high demand, and they sell out quickly. In fact, if we manage to get one even once out of five visits, it feels like we’ve struck gold. And if there’s only one left when we order, we always face the dilemma (窘境) of who gets it. Over time, we developed a system for sharing the precious beef bun. If there’s only one left, we take turns eating it. I’d have it this time, and she’d get it the next. Typically, as soon as we enter the shop, one of us will ask, “Do you have beef buns today?” If the answer is no, we settle for another item from the menu, though secretly hoping that one day we’ll find an unlimited supply of our favorite treat. This morning, however, things were different. As we stepped into the shop, we noticed that the shopkeeper’s wife, who’s usually busy managing orders and cooking, had spotted us right away. 注意: 1. 续写词数应150个左右; 2. 请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。 She gave us a big smile, which felt different from the usual polite greeting. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ We both looked at the buns and then at each other, hardly believing our luck. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】 She gave us a big smile, which felt different from the usual polite greeting. “We’ve been expecting you,” she said warmly, gesturing toward the kitchen. Her husband emerged carrying a bamboo steamer stacked high with golden-brown buns. “We noticed how much you love these,” he explained, “so today we made extra.” My colleague gasped as the fragrant steam revealed rows of perfectly plump beef buns. The couple explained they’d adjusted their cooking schedule just to ensure their most loyal customers wouldn’t go home disappointed. We both looked at the buns and then at each other, hardly believing our luck. For the first time, there was no need for our sharing routine. As we bit into the juicy buns simultaneously, laughter bubbled up between us. The shopkeepers joined in, their faces glowing with satisfaction. That morning, we lingered longer than usual, savoring not just the food but the warmth of this small kindness. From then on, though beef buns remained limited, we never felt deprived – knowing someone cared enough to create this moment made every bite sweeter. 3. 词汇激活 行为类 ①出现:emerge/appear ②解释:explain/elucidate ③加入:join in/take part in 情绪类 ①热情地:warmly/enthusiastically ②满足:satisfaction/fulfillment 【点睛】[高分句型1]“We noticed how much you love these,” he explained, “so today we made extra.”(运用了how引导的宾语从句) [高分句型2]As we bit into the juicy buns simultaneously, laughter bubbled up between us.(运用了as引导的时间状语从句) 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $$ 自贡市高2025届第三次诊断性考试 英语试题 本试卷共150分,考试时间为120分钟。 How much is the shirt? C Not long ago, Uganda used to be home to both the black and northern white rhinos (犀牛). A. Human activities. B. Food shortages. C. Disease outbreaks. D. Climate changes. 9. How many rhinos are there at Ziwa cattle ranch now? A. 700. B. 6. C. 48. D. 43. 10. What contributes to Ziwa Ranch’s success in rhino conservation? A. Constant protection. B. Wendy Roy’s leadership. C. Behavior data collection. D. Laws against illegal trade. 11. What can be a suitable title for the text? A. History of Ziwa Cattle Ranch B. Restoring Rhinos in Uganda C. Rise of Uganda’s Wildlife Tourism D. Challenges of Moving Rhinos D CRISPR, a groundbreaking gene-editing technology, has transformed biology. A They are eco-friendly. 第二节(共5小题;每小题2.5分,满分12.5分) 根据短文内容,从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。 Is there a pessimist in your life-a person who thinks about the negative aspects of a situation more than the positive? Don’t be too quick to dismiss people due to their pessimism E That would be considered passive-aggressive communication F. Accepting the pessimistic ideas can make you more adaptable G. If you are optimistic, it may be hard to deal with a pessimist’s opinions 第三部分 语言运用(共两节,满分30分) 第一节(共15小题;每小题1分,满分15分) 阅读下面短文,从每题所给的A、B、C、D四个选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。 Jack threw the papers on my desk. “Next time you want to change anything, ask me first!” He shouted before storming off. 注意: 1. 续写词数应为150个左右; 2. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $$
