Beachcombing involves searching the seashore for interesting objects, both natural and made by humans.

Get searching
Walk slowly so you can spy things. The strandline is a good place to look. This is the point to which waves carry debris on beaches. It's higher than the water line and you might see it is marked by a line of seaweed.
Record and learn

Ambition( 抱 负 )is the key to success. Many people have great ambitions and work tirelessly to make their dreams come true. Some, however,do not believe in themselves.Let's see how Wang Zhihuan and Emily Dickinson think of ambition.
On the Stock Tower
The sun along the mountain bows,
The Yellow River seawards flows.
You will enjoy a grander sight,
If you cimb to a greater. ▲
By Wang Zhihuan (688-742) Aspiration
We never know how highwe are
Till we are called to rise;
And then,if we are true to plan,
Our statures(身高)touch the skies.
The heroism we recite Would be a daily thing,
Did not ourselves the Cubits(腕尺)warp (弯曲),
For fear to be a king.
By Emily Dickinson (1830-1886)
Wang Zhihuan wrote the poem in the best years of the Tang Dynasty (618-907). He once held a quite good job, but then lost it. Instead of giving up, Wang chose to stay positive ( 积 极 的 ) about the future. Seeing the mountain and the Yellow River, he made up his mind to climb higher. This was his way of following his dreams-to see more and achieve more.
Emily Dickinson ’s poem takes a different attitude from Wang ’s. While Wang is positive about reaching his dreams, Dickinson ’s poem encourages everyone to do their best to find their potential ( 潜能). People often don’t know what they can truly do until they face a real challenge ( 挑战). If they didn’t let fears hold them back, they could do heroic things. She believes that all of us can achieve amazing things.

( )36. What can we learn from the article?
A. Wang Zhihuan didn’t give up after he lost his good job.

My Happiness
What’s happiness? Different people have different answers.
For me, happiness comes from my parents’ love. I will never forget one thing. Once, I had a bad mark at a
math test. I was afraid to meet my parents. But when I got back home late, my parents knew what happened, they said to me “It doesn’t matter, my child. Remember we’ll always be beside you when you need help. We believe you can be better next time. Never give up.” I was moved and made up my mind to work harder and harder.
I feel happy. Whenever I am in trouble, I can feel my parents’ love. I want to be a good child for my parents.
