专题02 阅读理解之记叙文+新闻报道 (一) (23-24高二下陕西西安铁一中学期末) I fell in love with rhinos when I worked in a zoo in the 80s, and spent much of the next 20 years as the keeper of the largest captive (圈养的) group of rare black rhinos There’s a popular misconception that rhinos are aggressive and stupid, but I found them sensitive and affectionate animals. Weighing over a ton, black rhinos are unexpectedly agile (敏捷的) and have an unpredictable nature — but, given reassurance, they tend to believe people. In the past few decades, their numbers have dropped dramatically. In recent years, I’ve helped look after rhinos being moved to the reserve so they can form new populations in countries that have few left. Last year, I helped on a project to fly five black rhinos from a private reserve in South Africa to the Serengeti National Park. Once there, the animals had to be kept captive for a few weeks to adapt to the new environment, in which time they lived in “bomas” — wooden enclosures with “bedrooms”, designed to create a calm space. A couple of weeks before their planned release, the sky was filled with smoke. Watching the flames rushing through the bush toward the bomas, I froze. Terrified that it would catch fire, my instinct was to release the rhinos, but they hadn’t yet been fitted with transmitters (发信器). If I let them out into a bushfire and they were injured, we’d have great difficulty tracking them down. So I dashed back to the bomas and called the rhinos to the bedrooms. Sensing the tear in my voices, they moved without hesitation and remained astonishingly calm. It was crucial the rhinos didn’t panic — they can easily hurt each other if they do. Meanwhile, the rangers managed to beat the closest flames away. At last, after half an hour, the wind changed direction and the fire began to recede. That we and the rhinos had escaped uninjured was a miracle. The teamwork of everybody there played a large part, and the rhinos were very much a part of that team. The relationships we’d built with them had proved crucial — had they or we panicked, all our work would have been in vain. Instead, two weeks later, they were released into the wild, ready to found part of a new population in the Serengeti. 1.What kind of animals does the author think rhinos are? A.Unfriendly. B.Cruel. C.Mild. D.Curious. 2.Why were bomas set up? A.To assist rhinos to settle in. B.To boost tourism in the reserve. C.To avoid rhinos’ aggressive behavior. D.To stop rhinos from fleeing. 3.Why didn’t the author let the rhinos out in the bushfire? A.They would panic and hurt each other. B.It could be difficult to locate and find them. C.They showed signs of anger and aggression. D.They might fail to adapt to new environments. 4.What is the last paragraph mainly about? A.Why protecting rhinos is important B.How the rhinos were released to the wild. C.What enabled the rhinos to remain calm. D.What helped the rhinos and people escape. (二) (23-24高二下陕西宝鸡渭滨区期末) One week after I started working in Beijing, I decided to visit a place of interest called the Summer Palace. Before setting off, I researched it on the Internet. The Summer Palace is composed mostly of a lake, but it’s surrounded by beautiful greenery and a walkway that circles the lake. It is recommended that you give the Summer Palace about three hours. If you try to walk around it, it could take five or six hours. With that knowledge of it, I set off. The highlight of the tour had to be the view from the Tower of Buddhist Incense. It sits on the top of a large hill overlooking the lake and is worth a climb. It was built as a place to worship the Buddha. And in the Summer Palace, unlike in most of other places, photography isn’t allowed in most of the buildings. Pictures of most of the Buddhas and the other artifacts are off⁃limits for photographers. Another highlight was seeing the stage created for the Dowager Empress where she watched operas and other theater items. There are box seats that surround the stage and it was the largest stage created in Imperial China. You could almost imagine royalty reviewing the actors from the boxes and the stage. I do recommend taking a boat ride if you go, which takes you from one side of the lake to the other side where you can see another set of buildings. And it is fun. You can also rent an electric boat or paddleboat if you want. But since it was just me, I went aboard one of the biggest boats with other people. I spent another four hours wandering around the Summer Palace. But I didn’t see all of it because it was getting dark. How I wish I could visit it again. 5.What did the author do before setting off for the Summer Palace? A.Asked others about it. B.Learned something about it. C.Spent three hours researching it. D.Rented a boat. 6.What does the underlined word “off⁃limits” in Paragraph 2 probably mean? A.Forbidden. B.Allowed. C.Charged. D.Limited. 7.What do we know about the stage mentioned in the text? A.It sits on the top of a hill. B.It is the largest stage all over China. C.It was for royalty to watch performances. D.Operas are performed there at times. 8.Which of the following correctly describes the author’s tour? A.She took a boat by herself. B.She spent four hours in the Summer Palace. C.She didn’t enjoy the trip because it was too late. D.She only toured part of the Summer Palace. (三) (23-24高二下陕西西安高新高新第一中学期末) As someone who often mans the 24-hour hotline, I’m accustomed to early morning calls reporting various marine mammal strandings (搁浅). Even still, I doubt whether I could have fully prepared for this call. August 9 at 8:01 am was the first time my jaw physically dropped when manning the hotline. The harbormaster reported 30 stranded dolphins in one of the trickiest areas of Wellfleet. I immediately sent all workers we had and sent out the call for any additional help we could gather. Our team gathered at our Rescue Operations Center, grabbing all the specialized equipment we possibly could. Our trained volunteer responders arrived on the scene shortly after the initial report to give me updated information — 45 dolphins in total, 43 of which were alive. With a stranding this large, it wasn’t feasible to pull all 43 animals from the mud, get them to our mobile veterinary clinic, and transport them for release at a more favorable open-ocean location all before the tide came in. The day was getting hotter, and the animals were already suffering from both heat and sun exposure. Upon getting on the scene, there was no time to react to the sheer chaos that lay ahead. After a quick scan of the situation — 45 animals widely distributed, only a few staff members and several volunteers — there wasn’t a second more to wait. We began the hard process of getting as many animals as we could into special slings (吊带), onto the cart, and off the marsh as quickly as possible. This was not without its own challenges. The mud trapped and enveloped our feet, adding weight with each step, most animals were highly fractious (易怒的) when approached, and the heat became unbearable in dry suits. But none of that was going to stop us from doing all we could for these animals. 9.How did the author react to the call on the morning of August 9? A.He thought it was a joke. B.He was shocked to the bone. C.He didn’t take it seriously. D.He was at a loss what to do. 10.What does the underlined word “feasible” in paragraph 2 mean? A.Efficient. B.Practical. C.Urgent. D.Remarkable. 11.What made a challenge to the author’s team? A.The tide was coming in very quickly. B.It was hard to find an open-ocean location. C.The volunteers failed to contact each other. D.There was deep mud around to walk through. 12.What’s the text mainly about? A.A rescue effort. B.A volunteer program. C.A festive activity. D.A charity organization. (四) (23-24高二下陕西榆林期末) A major meeting of computer hackers (黑客) planned for this summer is to include an event that will test the limits of artificial intelligence (AI) tools. The event, in August, will be held as part of the yearly DEF CON hacker meeting in Las Vegas, Nevada. Organizers say the meeting provides a chance for hackers to hear from leading industry officials about the latest developments in computer security. It also includes hacking competitions. This year, several major AI developers will take part in DEF CON. Among them will be OpenAI, which launched its latest AI model, ChatGPT-4, in March. Recently released AI tools are built by feeding huge amounts of information into machine learning computer systems. The data trains the AI systems to develop complex skills and produce human-like results. Experts have warned that such systems may bring major changes to many different jobs and industries. It affects everyone from managers to workers to housewives. They also fear the tools, known as “chatbots”, could greatly increase the amount of misinformation in the news media and on social media. Chowdhury, an organizer of the hacking event, says the results of the event can provide helpful information to companies looking at ways to safely use the fast-developing AI systems. She notes that the hackers’ work will not end after the gathering. They will spend months afterward creating reports on their findings and identifying specific system vulnerabilities (漏洞). Jack Clark is the co-founder of AI developer Anthropic. He says he hopes the DEF CON event will lead to deeper commitments from AI developers to measure and test the safety of their systems. For this to happen, though, AI systems will need to be examined by third parties both before and after deployment (部署). “We need to get practice at figuring out how to do this. It hasn’t really been done before,” he says. 13.Hackers can learn ______ from this meeting. A.the latest developments in computer security B.the rules of AI tool competitions C.the application of model ChatGPT-4 D.the future of hackers in the computer field 14.What’s the experts’ attitude towards the AI system? A.Uncaring. B.Favorable. C.Positive. D.Negative. 15.What can be concluded from Chowdhury’s words? A.The reports accelerate the development of AI. B.AI systems need to be inspected by the third parties. C.The activity of improving network security will not stop. D.The current network system is approaching perfection. 16.What does the author imply in the last paragraph? A.AI users must test the security of their computer systems. B.AI developers may overlook the shortcomings of their own products. C.AI systems develop complex skills and produce results similar to those of humans. D.The DEF CON event will encourage companies to develop new products. (五) (23-24高二下陕西渭南大荔期末) One Saturday in December, Annacarin Elf, the head of operations at Gothenburg City Library, just happened to walk by her workplace. Noticing that the door was open, she entered the library, and was astonished to see the heartwarming scene that people were using it like on a regular day. It was scheduled to be closed for the New Year holiday. The people in the library behaved as usual. Many were sitting reading newspapers, some families were in the children's section and others were searching for books on the computer. It seemed that Elf's colleagues had simply forgotten to lock the door, and because this popular library is usually open on Saturdays. visitors just assumed they could walk in. Elf called to check with her staff team, before announcing to the people present that the library was about to close. Then she expressed her regret for what had been done wrong and caused them a problem. It later turns out that 446 locals visited the city library borrowing a total of 246 books during the day. What's remarkable is that people checked out their books through the library's electronic self-service system, and that to date, all the books have been returned! Many Swedes have reacted positively to this uplifting demonstration of local respect for the library, a center that can be seen as a sign of the community, and what the locals did has strengthened their sense of belonging in their community. Elf says, “Nothing was destroyed. It's amazing that Gothenburgers entered an empty library and treated and so lovingly.” The city leader has even suggested that this unusual Saturday serve as an accidental experiment to analyse the possibility of operating a totally automated library without staff. 17.Why did Elf feel surprised after entering the library? C.Libraries can be automated sometimes. D.A library can bring out the best in people. (六) (23-24高二下陕西咸阳期末) Exploring China is not easy even for experienced travelers, but the history instructor Jessica Gerard from Ozarks Technical Community College (OTC) knows from experience the trip is worth it. Since 2008, she’s led five groups of students across China to study its culture and history. Gerard often reminds students that the trip is not a vacation—it’s an academic course. “Anyone interested in the trip must take an online course about the history of China before they can go,” she said. “And, most importantly , students continue to learn while in China. They’re expected to listen to guides, keep a diary and write about their experiences afterward.” OTC student Ross Weis believed his experiences in China easily transcended (超越) anything he could have learned in the classroom. In fact, it was his long-held interest in China that led him to ask about the trip after seeing a poster in the OTC library. “I’ve always been drawn to China and its rich culture and history,” Weis said. “My dad studied history in college, and I suppose that has some influence on me.” Of all the cities and historical sites Weis visited, he said nothing could top his experience at the Great Wall, “I’d read about the Great Wall and seen it on TV, but it is so different to go there and actually experience it,” he said. “It wasn’t as worn as I had expected it to be. That was pretty cool.” Every OTC group Gerard has taken to China has been led by her trusty tourist agent, Jim Lieu. Gerard plans her trips directly through Lieu, who keeps travel costs down for students. “Lieu and I have an excellent relationship with one another. He always knows what I want for my students, and I know what he can do,” said Gerard: “He sincerely believes that in order to build stronger communities and a better world, people around the world should get to know each other through travel.” 21.What should the students do before their trip to China? D.Gerard’s led students to travel to China for about 16 years. 24.What does Gerard think of Jim Lieu? A.Brave. B.Patient. C.Helpful. D.Humorous. (七) (23-24高二下陕西延安志丹期末) Raymond had the fifth vertebrae (椎骨) in his neck broken as a result of a diving accident and could no longer walk or fully use his hands. “I quickly learned that my life was going to be really different,” he says. “To call it a huge adjustment is an understatement.” But that’s just the beginning of Raymond’s story. A year later, frustrated with the lack of wellness resources available for people like him in New Orleans, the former broadcast engineer decided that his hometown needed an adaptive gym to cater to those with similar injuries and other disabilities. The properly named Split Second Fitness opened in 2021, with specially designed workout equipment and therapy programs that allow clients to grow physically and mentally stronger. Seated elliptical (椭圆的) bikes move paralyzed (瘫痪的) users’ legs; a yoga instructor helps stroke survivors increase flexibility and range of motion and mental health experts facilitate the hard transition to a new way of living. “Anybody’s life can change in a split second like mine did,” Raymond explains. “What our organization is really centered around is ‘How do I give you hope? And how can I help you transform that hope into action steps for you to create a better tomorrow?’” The idea came to Raymond as he spent three months at a state-of-the-art rehab (康复) facility in Sacramento that challenged the idea of what recovery could look like. “I knew I had to get back home and figure out how to do that,” says the natural-born networker, who spent three years raising funds and learning how to run a nonprofit. “The goal is to increase the quality of life of those with a disability,” he says. “Because if I can give you something to look forward to, it will help that grieving process and help you get back on track to a happy, healthy life.” 25.What led to Raymond’s physical disabilities? C.To challenge traditional ideas of recovery. D.To provide financial assistance to the disabled. (八) (23-24高二下陕西汉中期末) A dad from Texas didn’t miss a beat when it came to supporting his daughter recently. Cecelia Simmons shared a video of her husband, Andre Simmons, dancing in the stands while their daughter Jazlyn and her Temple High School cheer team performed. In the video, as the cheer team members raise the small balls and go through their routine, Andre Simmons follows right along, nailing the moves right alongside them. The post shared on social media has obtained over 312,000 views. With tens of thousands of overwhelmingly positive comments on his post, people online quickly shared their reactions. They recommended Andre Simmons as “Cheer Dad of the Year” or applauded his energy and spot-on moves. Simmons himself was quick to say he’s not the best dancer and it took him a few days to learn the routine. “Once I got it down pat, I just jumped up there when I heard the band finally bring the song up and I got up there and did it with her,” he said. But the father of five said he persisted because he wanted to create a lifelong memory with his girl Jazlyn, mostly because he was constantly away for work, thereby affording limited opportunities to be in the company of her. “Since she made the cheer team, that was my way of supporting her and kind of relieving the guilt of the lost time. She thought I was doing things that she loved and surprising her with joining her in the cheer during the football game,” Simmons said. Simmons said Jazlyn and her cheer team friends were surprised and “absolutely loved” that he could join in on the fun. The proud dad said it meant “the world” to him to be able to be there for his daughter too. “I love to try to be a super dad when I’m here and create those lifelong memories and it’s something for us to look back on and enjoy together,” he said and planned on cheering some more and making more memories with Jazlyn. 29.What did Andre Simmons do at his daughter’s cheer performance? C.To be the focus of attention on the Internet. D.To make up for being absent from Jazlyn’s life. 32.Which words can best describe Andre Simmons? A.Bearable and cautious. B.Selfless and cooperative. C.Supportive and caring. D.Ambitious and sensitive. (九) (23-24高二下陕西渭南华州期末) Sarah Toumi, a young girl growing up in France, had a dream of becoming a leader who could make a positive impact on the world. Her desire to help others was awakened when she accompanied her Tunisian father to his hometown in the eastern part of Tunisia during vacations. During her time there, she organized homework clubs and activities for children. Toumi personally witnessed the negative effects of desertification (沙漠化). She realized that within 10 years, wealthy farmers had become worse off. Toumi was determined to stop the progression of the Sahara Desert. Due to a decrease in average rainfall and an increase in severe droughts (干旱), nearly 75% of Tunisia’s agricultural lands are currently at risk of desertification. Toumi understood the need for a change in farming practices. She firmly believed that even small plots of land could bring significant returns if farmers were willing to adapt. This adaptation involved planting sustainable crops, using advanced water treatment technologies, and using natural products and fertilizers (肥料) instead of chemical alternatives. In 2012, Toumi took a decisive step towards realizing her dream of fighting desertification. She moved to Tunisia and set up a program called Acacias for All, with the aim of putting her sustainable farming ideas into action. “I want to show young people in the countryside that they can create opportunities where they are. Nobody is better able to understand the impact of desertification and climate change than somebody who is living without water.” By September 2016, over 130,000 acacia trees had been planted on 20 pilot farms, with a survival rate of 60% reported by farmers. Toumi estimates that around 3 million acacia trees are required to protect Tunisia’s farmland. She plans to plant 1 million trees by 2018. In the coming years, Toumi aims to promote the program to Algeria and Morocco. 33.How did Toumi’s holiday trips to Tunisia influence her? A.They made her decide to leave the country. B.They helped her better understand her father. C.They destroyed her dream of being a teacher. D.They inspired her to take action to help others. 34.What is the main cause of the desertification of Tunisia’s farmland? A.Cold weather. B.Soil pollution. C.Low rainfall. D.Forest damage. 35.Why did Toumi start Acacias for All in Tunisia? A.To ensure access to primary education for children. B.To promote the protection of agricultural land. C.To create job opportunities for young people. D.To persuade the farmers not to use fertilizers. 36.Which of the following can best describe Toumi? A.Determined and helpful. B.Considerate and calm. C.Wealthy and academic. D.Thankful and flexible. (十) (23-24高二下陕西西安鄠邑第二中学期末) When I was a 19-year-old college student, a call from the hospital about my father’s blood transfusion and throat surgery came the night before an exam. My father had been in a deep unconscious state for a week, and I was the closest son to him, responsible for his medical decisions. The blood transfusion was an easy decision. It was a relatively safe procedure. The throat surgery was another thing. I didn’t know how my father would feel if he recovered consciousness and had a hole in his throat for the rest of his life. Ultimately, I declined. This experience made me even less willing to be vulnerable (脆弱的) and honest about my struggles of making big decisions. Years later, I became a professor. I learned to value my students’ growth and others’ perceptions. My students needed compassion and support. So, I shared something about my father’s illness and death to acknowledge that life went on outside of my classroom and grades were not the most important thing in the world. I told my students my past lessons. I knew they might be suffering in adversity, and I wanted them to know that if they needed help, I would understand. The response was immediate and powerful. My connections with students deepened and I could instruct them on a new level. I changed nothing about the way I delivered course material, but student exam scores improved, as did my teaching evaluations. A fellow professor asked me, “If this works so well, why didn’t you do it sooner?” I said, “Vulnerability is really hard. It involves sharing of yourself as fully as you are able to, including admitting wrongdoing and acknowledging that you can’t always be your best self. Far from being a sign of weakness, it requires a ton of strength.” Exposing your imperfections, connecting with students on a deeper level and creating space for them to grow will always be challenging, but it is worth it. I cannot know everything that is going on in every student’s life, but I can always choose compassion. 37.Why did the author reject his father’s throat surgery? A.He was worried about the risks during the surgery. B.He was unsure about his father’s post-surgical feeling. C.He was unsure if his father would regain consciousness. D.He was worried about the pre-surgical preparation procedure. 38.What change did the students have after the author shared his past lessons? A.They were less focused on their grades. B.They became more distant from the author. C.They became more engaged and responsive. D.They were less willing to ask the author for help. 39.What does the author convey in paragraph 3? A.It is easy to admit our imperfections. B.It is hard to acknowledge we are the best. C.Vulnerability is challenging but shows courage. D.Vulnerability is more a sign of weakness than strength. 40.What is the text? A.A science fiction novel. B.A news report. C.A book review. D.A life story. (十一) (23-24高二下陕西西安鄠邑第二中学期末) In 2021, a wildfire bloomed in the Sonoran Desert in southwestern Arizona. By June 7, winds had blown the wildfire east-northeast into the Pinal Mountains, in the Tonto’s southern reaches. The fire rose quickly, climbing over cliffs (悬崖) and sweeping across vast jungles. When the fire hit the tops of mountains with pine forests, it consumed them as well. The Telegraph Fire, as it’s now called, grew very intense, creating its own wind as its heat rose, pulling air in from the edges. On the fifth day, the fire neared the city of Globe. By then, it had already destroyed a large area of Globe, making it one of the most powerful wildfires in Arizona’s history, spanning approximately 700 square kilometers of land. But the fire would not swallow Globe. Instead, on a ridge, the Telegraph Fire encountered a protective bulwark, remains of a previous great fire. According to ecologist Kit O’Connor, the Telegraph Fire shifted from a powerful fire, which was killing roughly 60% to 70% of the trees it encountered, to a slow-moving ground fire that only killed about 1% of the trees it came across. “Ultimately, the fire stopped approximately a kilometer away from a residential area on the outskirts of Globe,” said Lata, a wildfire management expert. She notes that without the Pinal Fire, the Telegraph Fire would have likely spread into the town and that they would have no means to prevent it. The decision to allow the Pinal Fire to burn was guided by a new approach to wildfire management called potential operational delineations (PODs). PODs categorize the landscape into zones where fires can potentially be contained. These zones are determined before the fire season begins, using a combination of AI and local expertise. A PODs network can assist land managers in identifying opportunities to exploit wildfires that light under manageable conditions. The goal is that, if subsequent fires break out under extreme conditions, there will be fewer bushes available to feed their great power. 41.What does paragraph 1 mainly describe about the wildfire? A.Its extension. B.Its origin. C.Its duration. D.Its management. 42.What does the underlined word “bulwark” in paragraph 2 refer to? A.A water source. B.A defensive wall. C.A type of vegetation. D.A fire-fighting technique. 43.What is Lata’s attitude to the Pinal Fire? A.Critical. B.Indifferent. C.Cautious. D.Supportive. 44.What is the main purpose of PODs in wildfire management? A.To predict wildfire occurrences. B.To reduce fuel for future wildfires. C.To help land managers put out wildfires. D.To create landscapes against potential wildfires. 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $$ 专题02 阅读理解之记叙文+新闻报道 (一) (23-24高二下陕西西安铁一中学期末) I fell in love with rhinos when I worked in a zoo in the 80s, and spent much of the next 20 years as the keeper of the largest captive (圈养的) group of rare black rhinos There’s a popular misconception that rhinos are aggressive and stupid, but I found them sensitive and affectionate animals. D.What helped the rhinos and people escape. 由文章第二段的“There’s a popular misconception that rhinos are aggressive and stupid, but I found them sensitive and affectionate animals. (有一种普遍的误解认为犀牛是好斗和愚蠢的,但我发现它们是敏感和深情的动物。)”可推知,作者认为犀牛是温和的动物。故选C。 2.推理判断题。根据第二段“Once there, the animals had to be kept captive for a few weeks to adapt to the new environment, in which time they lived in “bomas”—wooden enclosures with “bedrooms”, designed to create a calm space. (一旦到了那里,这些动物必须被圈养几个星期以适应新的环境,在此期间,它们住在“bomas”——带“卧室”的木制围栏里,旨在创造一个平静的空间。)”可知,设立bomas是为了帮助犀牛安定下来。故选A。 3. 由文章第三段的“Terrified that it would catch fire, my instinct was to release the rhinos, but they hadn’t yet been fitted with transmitters (发信器). If I let them out into a bushfire and they were injured, we’d have great difficulty tracking them down. (由于害怕它会着火,我本能地想把犀牛放生,但它们还没有装上发射机。如果我把他们放出去,让他们在丛林大火中受伤,我们就很难找到他们了。)”可知,作者不让犀牛在丛林大火中出来是因为可能很难找到它们。故选B。 4.主旨大意题。根据最后一段“Meanwhile, the rangers managed to beat the closest flames away. At last, after half an hour, the wind changed direction and the fire began to recede. That we and the rhinos had escaped uninjured was a miracle. The teamwork of everybody there played a large part, and the rhinos were very much a part of that team. The relationships we’d built with them had proved crucial—had they or we panicked, all our work would have been in vain. (与此同时,护林员设法扑灭了最近的大火。最后,半小时后,风向改变了,火势开始减弱。我们和犀牛能毫发无损地逃脱真是个奇迹。每个人的团队合作发挥了很大的作用,犀牛是这个团队的重要组成部分。事实证明,我们与他们建立的关系至关重要——如果他们或我们惊慌失措,我们所有的努力都将付诸东流。)”可知,最后一段主要讲的是什么让犀牛和人类从火灾中逃脱。故选D。 (二) (23-24高二下陕西宝鸡渭滨区期末) One week after I started working in Beijing, I decided to visit a place of interest called the Summer Palace. 根据第一段中“Before setting off, I researched it on the Internet.”(出发前,我在网上查了一下。) 根据第二段中“And in the Summer Palace, unlike in most of other places, photography isn’t allowed in most of the buildings. Pictures of most of the Buddhas and the other artifacts are off⁃limits for photographers.”(不像其他地方,在颐和园大多数建筑都不允许拍照。 故选A。 7. 根据第三段中“Another highlight was seeing the stage created for the Dowager Empress where she watched operas and other theater items.”(另一个亮点是看到了为慈禧太后创造的戏台,她在那里观看戏曲和其他剧场节目。) 根据最后一段中“But I didn’t see all of it because it was getting dark. How I wish I could visit it again.”(但我没有全部看完,因为天黑了。 (三) (23-24高二下陕西西安高新高新第一中学期末) As someone who often mans the 24-hour hotline, I’m accustomed to early morning calls reporting various marine mammal strandings (搁浅). 根据第一段“I doubt whether I could have fully prepared for this call. August 9 at 8:01 am was the first time my jaw physically dropped when manning the hotline. (我怀疑我是否能够完全准备好接听这个电话。8月9日上午8:01,是我在值班时第一次惊呆了。)”可知,作者对这个电话的反应是非常震惊的,故选B项。 10.词句猜测题。结合语境,再根据第二段“It wasn’t feasible to pull all 43 animals from the mud, get them to our mobile veterinary clinic, and transport them for release at a more favorable open-ocean location all before the tide came in. (在潮水涨上来之前,把43只动物从泥潭中拉出来,送到我们的移动兽医诊所,并运送到更有利的开放海域位置,这在现实中是不feasible的。)”可知,在潮水涨上来之前,很难(几乎不可能)把43只动物从泥潭中拉出来,送到我们的移动兽医诊所,并运送到更有利的开放海域位置,因此“feasible”在这里的意思是“实际可行的”,故选B项。 11.细节理解题。根据第三段“The mud trapped and enveloped our feet, adding weight with each step, most animals were highly fractious when approached and the heat became unbearable in dry suits. (泥潭困住了我们的脚,每一步都增加了重量,大多数动物在接近时都非常易怒,而且我们穿着干式潜水服,热度变得难以忍受。)”可知,救援团队面临的主要挑战是周围有深泥,难以行走,故选D项。 12.主旨大意题。根据第二段“Our team gathered at our Rescue Operations Center, grabbing all the specialized equipment we possibly could. (我们的团队聚集在我们的救援行动中心,尽可能多地拿起所有专门的设备。)”及全文可知,文章主要讲述了作者和他的团队在接到海豚搁浅的报告后,如何迅速组织救援行动,以及在救援过程中遇到的困难和挑战。因此,文章的主要内容是一次救援行动,故选A项。 (四) (23-24高二下陕西榆林期末) A major meeting of computer hackers (黑客) planned for this summer is to include an event that will test the limits of artificial intelligence (AI) tools. 文章第一段讲到“Her desire to help others was awakened when she accompanied her Tunisian father to his hometown in the eastern part of Tunisia during vacations. (当她在度假期间陪突尼斯父亲去突尼斯东部的家乡时,她帮助他人的愿望被唤醒了)”可知,去突尼斯的旅行激励着她去帮助别人。故选D。 34.推理判断题。文章第一段讲到“Due to a decrease in average rainfall and an increase in severe droughts (干旱), nearly 75% of Tunisia’s agricultural lands are currently at risk of desertification. (由于平均降雨量的减少和严重干旱的增加,突尼斯近75%的农田目前面临荒漠化的风险)”可知,平均降雨量的减少和干旱的增加是突尼斯农田沙漠化的主要原因。故选C。 35.推理判断题。文章第三段讲到“In 2012, Toumi took a decisive step towards realizing her dream of fighting desertification. She moved to Tunisia and set up a program called Acacias for All, with the aim of putting her sustainable farming ideas into action (2012年,Toumi朝着实现自己的沙漠化梦想迈出了决定性的一步。她搬到突尼斯,建立了一个名为“全民Acacias”的项目,目的是将她的可持续农业理念付诸实践)”可知,建立该项目是为了将她的可持续农业理论付诸行动。故选B。 36.推理判断题。文章第一段“Toumi was determined to stop the progression of the Sahara Desert.(图米决心阻止撒哈拉沙漠的扩张。)”和第三段讲到“In 2012, Toumi took a decisive step towards realizing her dream of fighting desertification. She moved to Tunisia and set up a program called Acacias for All, with the aim of putting her sustainable farming ideas into action. (2012年,Toumi朝着实现自己的沙漠化梦想迈出了决定性的一步。她搬到了突尼斯,建立了一个名为“全民Acacias”的项目,目的是将她的可持续农业理念付诸实践)”中的“decisive step”以及Toumi推动项目帮助当地人与沙漠化作斗争可知,Toumi意志坚定并乐于助人。故选A。 (十) (23-24高二下陕西西安鄠邑第二中学期末) When I was a 19-year-old college student, a call from the hospital about my father’s blood transfusion and throat surgery came the night before an exam. 根据第一段中“I didn’t know how my father would feel if he recovered consciousness and had a hole in his throat for the rest of his life. Ultimately, I declined. This experience made me even less willing to be vulnerable (脆弱的) and honest about my struggles of making big decisions.(我不知道如果我父亲恢复了意识,喉咙上有个洞,度过余生,他会作何感想。最终,我拒绝了)”可知,作者拒绝父亲的咽喉手术是因为他不确定父亲手术后的感受。故选B项。 38.细节理解题。根据第二段中“The response was immediate and powerful. My connections with students deepened and I could instruct them on a new level. I changed nothing about the way I delivered course material, but student exam scores improved, as did my teaching evaluations.(学生的反应是迅速而有力的。我与学生的联系加深了,我可以在一个新的层次上指导他们。虽然我授课的方式没有变化,但学生的考试成绩提高了,我的教学评价也提高了)”可知,在作者分享了的过去经历之后,他与学生之间的联系加深了,他能够在新的层次上指导学生,学生的考试成绩也有所提高。这表明学生在听了作者的分享后,对学习变得更加投入和进行了更积极的反应。故选C项。 39.推理判断题。根据第三段中作者的话“Vulnerability is really hard. It involves sharing of yourself as fully as you are able to, including admitting wrongdoing and acknowledging that you can’t always be your best self. Far from being a sign of weakness, it requires a ton of strength.(展现脆弱真的很难。它需要你尽自己所能充分地分享自己,包括承认错误和认识到自己并不总是处于最佳状态。这绝不是软弱的表现,而是需要巨大的勇气)”可推知,作者想表达的是展现脆弱是一件困难的事情,但它不是软弱的表现,而是勇气的展示。故选C项。 40.推理判断题。通读全文,尤其是结合第一段中“This experience made me even less willing to be vulnerable (脆弱的) and honest about my struggles of making big decisions.(这段经历让我更不愿意脆弱和诚实地面对自己在做重大决定时的挣扎)”和最后一段中“Exposing your imperfections, connecting with students on a deeper level and creating space for them to grow will always be challenging, but it is worth it. I cannot know everything that is going on in every student’s life, but I can always choose compassion.(暴露你的不完美,与学生建立更深层次的联系,为他们的成长创造空间,这总是具有挑战性的,但这是值得的。我不可能知道每一个学生生活中的每一件事,但我总是可以选择同情)”可知,文章讨论了作者的个人经历和思考,内容侧重于个人经历、情感脆弱性和个人成长,这些都是生活故事或回忆录中的常见元素,所以本文是一则人生故事。故选D项。 (十一) (23-24高二下陕西西安鄠邑第二中学期末) In 2021, a wildfire bloomed in the Sonoran Desert in southwestern Arizona. 根据第一段“In 2021, a wildfire bloomed in the Sonoran Desert in southwestern Arizona. (2021年,亚利桑那州西南部的索诺兰沙漠爆发了一场野火。到6月7日,大风将野火吹向东北偏东的皮纳尔山脉,位于通托的南部地区。火势迅速蔓延,越过悬崖,横扫大片丛林。当大火蔓延到松树林的山顶时,松树林也被烧毁)”可知,本段主要描述了这场野火蔓延的范围非常大。故选A项。 42. 根据划线词上文“But the fire would not swallow Globe. Instead, on a ridge, the Telegraph Fire encountered (但大火不会吞噬格洛布。相反,在山脊上,“电报”火遇到了)”和下文“remains of a previous great fire (前一场大火的遗迹)”可知,由于“电报”火遇到了前一场大火的遗迹,它的火势变小了,没有吞噬格洛布城市地区,由此推知,这一遗迹起到了“防御”的作用,划线词意思应该与A defensive wall“防御墙”相近。故选B项。 43.推理判断题。根据第三段中““Ultimately, the fire stopped approximately a kilometer away from a residential area on the outskirts of Globe,” said Lata, a wildfire management expert. She notes that without the Pinal Fire, the Telegraph Fire would have likely spread into the town and that they would have no means to prevent it. (野火管理专家Lata说:“最终,大火在距离格洛布郊区一个居民区大约一公里的地方停止了。”她指出,如果没有皮纳尔大火,“电报”火很可能会蔓延到镇上,而他们没有办法阻止它)”可知,Lata认为皮纳尔大火帮助人们抑制了“电报”火的蔓延。由此推知,她的态度是支持肯定的。故选D项。 44.细节理解题。根据最后一段中“The goal is that, if subsequent fires break out under extreme conditions, there will be fewer bushes available to feed their great power. (这样做的目的是,如果在极端条件下发生后续火灾,可以提供巨大能量的灌木丛就会减少)”可知,野火管理中的这种方法的主要目的在于减少未来供野火燃烧的燃料。故选B项。 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $$
