He has made a point of coming back to visit it to greet and observe the Chinese crested terns (中华凤头燕鸥) over the past ten years. The medium-sized bird is 30-40 centimeters long, with gray wings and a white body. It was first discovered in Indonesia by Heinrich Bernstein in 1861. It has since been sighted only in small numbers around the world. The birds were spotted in 1937 on islands around Qingdao, Shandong Province, and it was not until 2000 that a bird photographer spotted them on the Matsu Islands off the coast of Fujian Province, which immediately caused a storm in international ornithology (鸟类学) circles for researchers assumed that the birds had already died out. Born in Lanzhou, Gansu Province, Ding grew up seeing barren (贫瘠的) mountains and sandstorms, and had an awareness of environmental protection at an early age. That was why, after graduating from university in 2012, he readily took a job offer from the Jiushan Islands National Nature Reserve in Zhejiang. “I love the sea and my major could be of some use in protecting it,” he says. Looking back at his life on the islands, Ding admits that it was very tough. There was no electricity to charge mobile phones and no air conditioner during the hot summer, and drinking water was sent in by supply ships. The worst was the loneliness, though things took a turn for the better in 2017, when more volunteers came to join the bird protection team. Ding’s contributions were recognized by the local authorities of Ningbo this year, who named him one of the city’s “most beautiful people”. “Everything was worth it, now that more people are aware of the importance of protecting the birds, and now that the number of the birds is on the rise,” Ding says. 24.Why did the researchers feel surprised when the Chinese crested terns were found in 2000? A.They were spotted by a photographer instead of them. B.The event made them ashamed. C.They were unable to catch them. D.They thought the birds were extinct. 25.What was the main reason why Ding decided to take the job offer? A.His life experience in his hometown. B.His major. C.A good salary. D.The beautiful scenery. 26.How was Ding’s life on the islands? A.Adventurous. B.Enjoyable. C.Difficult. D.Inspiring. 27.What does Ding think of his team’s work? A.It’s fruitful. B.It’s perfect. C.It’s regrettable. D.It’s pointless. C As is known to everyone, the options we make have an effect on our future. Suppose I am an intelligent student with good marks. But on the other hand, being lazy, I do badly in my examinations. I am refused admission to university and cannot find a good job. The golden future I had imagined will never be. All these are all from a bad choice! However, your choices affect your future in a way that is a lot more complicated. This is because nearly all the choices you make affect your character. Your character is displayed through your choices, but it is also formed by them. No matter when you make a choice, your character changes or grows, or diminishes depending on whether the decision you made is wise or foolish. Your character is being made by you, bit by bit, choice by choice. And so, you become the sort of person who will make a certain kind of choice in a certain situation. Some will argue this is not true. After all, the field of human choice is a narrow one. Most of the things that form us in our lives are not subject to choice. We cannot choose when and where to be born, whether our families will be rich or poor, kind or cruel. We cannot even entirely control who we will meet in our lives. With so much that we cannot choose, how can we be said to be responsible for anything? There is some truth in this. We are thrown into life without any say over the matter, and have little control over most of it. However, we do have some power of choice, and we do control the most important thing of all: how we respond to circumstances. We can choose to keep struggling in hard times, or to give up. This ability to choose how we behave and respond is a great gift. It is our key to having confidence in the future. It is human nature to fear the future, as the future is unknown. You can’t entirely control what will happen to you tomorrow. But if you have confidence in your character, formed by years of making good choices, then you do know one thing for certain about the future: no matter what happens, you will make a choice that you will be proud of. At every moment, then, practise forming your character when you make your choices, no matter how small they are. Remember: your choices form your character. And your character determines your future. 28.What example does the author use to illustrate the impact of bad choices on the future? A.A student who fails to get into university due to laziness despite good academic potential. B.A person who can’t choose their birthplace and family background. C.Someone who gives up easily during hard times. D.An individual who is afraid of the unknown future. 29.What can we infer from the passage? A.We have no control over any aspect of our lives except making choices. B.Good character formed by making wise choices gives us confidence in the future. C.External factors like birthplace and family background have no impact on our life. D.Small choices in daily life don’t matter in shaping our character. 30.In the author’s opinion, what is the most important thing we can control in life? A.When and where to be born. B.Whether our families will be rich or poor. C.How we respond to different circumstances. D.Who we will meet in our lives. 31.What is the main idea of the passage? A.The ways to make good choices in different situations. B.The uncontrollable factors existing in our life. C.The significant relationship between our choices, character and future. D.The importance of having confidence in the future. D One of the keys to tackling climate change is switching to sustainable energy. That means more solar power, wind turbines, electric cars, etc. However, there is a major obstacle when it comes to their design and manufacture (批量生产); they require rare earth metals, like nickel and cobalt, to build. Traditionally, rare earth metals are extracted through a long process that involves using dangerous, carcinoma (cancer-causing) chemicals. The chemicals used to extract and process the ions (离子) must be used in massive quantities due to their limited effectiveness, and their use and disposal are both extremely expensive and environmentally unfriendly. Not only that, but most of the metal is wasted. That is where the biosorption comes in. It is the process by which certain bacteria naturally change waste products like metal ions and compounds into nanoparticles (纳米颗粒) of solid metals. Bacteria undergo this process naturally, but scientists are searching for ways to genetically engineer them to work more efficiently and target specific metals rather than multiple types at once. To study this process, scientists mainly targeted bacteria that can process metals in batteries, especially lithium. They found that the bacteria were able to efficiently turn the metal ions into solid lithium, and other strains could process cobalt, manganese, and/ or nickel, demonstrating the incredible potential of biosorption in manufacturing. Biosorption will be a part of building a circular economy where metals are efficiently mined, processed, and recycled with as little waste as possible. More work needs to be done to scale this technology. As a next step, scientists are hoping to demonstrate that the extracted metals can indeed be used in new batteries and devices. As countries around the world work to push forward a cleaner, more sustainable economy, bacteria may have a larger role to play in the future of manufacturing. 32.Which of the following is a disadvantage of the traditional extraction? A.It is environmentally harmful. B.It produces low-quality metals. C.It requires a large amount of manpower. D.It can only extract particular types of metals. 33.What does the underlined word “them” in paragraph 3 refer to? A.Metals. B.Bacteria. C.Ions. D.Scientists. 34.What is the potential role of biosorption in building a circular economy? A.It can replace traditional mining methods. B.It can help recycle metals with minimal waste. C.It can be applied to the extraction of many metals. D.It can promote the large-scale production of batteries. 35.Which of the following is a suitable title for the text? A.The Future of Circular Economy. B.Bacteria Help Extract Rare Earth Metals. C.The Ways to Switch to Sustainable Energy. D.Biosorption Plays a Key Role in Manufacturing. 第二节(共5小题;每小题2.5分,满分12.5分) 阅读下面短文,从短文后的选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。 Tang Poetry: Bridges Across Time Tang poetry, reaching its golden age during the Tang Dynasty (618-907 AD), reflects society, nature, and human emotions with striking clarity. 36 Now let’s uncover how these verses still speak to modern hearts. 37 The “lüshi ”(律诗), an eight-line poem with demanding tonal rules, often describes landscapes or philosophical reflections. For instance, Li Bai’s Drinking Alone Under the Moon uses rhythmic patterns to combine loneliness with universal wonder, proving that structure fuels creativity rather than limiting it. These poems explore permanent themes. They convey joys and sorrows mirroring today’s struggles.Wang Wei’s Deer Enclosure presents solitude through an empty mountain forest, while Du Fu’s Spring Prospect expresses his sadness about war’s destruction using wilted flowers. 38 39 Translations of Wang Wei’s nature poems inspired 19th-century French Impressionists, while Ezra Pound’s adaptations of Li Bai reshaped Western modernist poetry. Today, AI programs analyze Tang metrics(诗韵) to compose new “ancient-style” verses, integrating tradition with technology.   In Chinese education, Tang poetry is irreplaceable. Students memorize verses not just for exams but to connect with their heritage. 40 A 2023 study found students analyzing A Night Mooring at Maple Bridge improved metaphor interpretation skills by 40% compared to peers studying only modern texts. Teachers call it “emotional time travel” that bridges past and present. More than relics, Tang poems are alive — quoted in speeches, sung in pop songs, and even inspiring AI-generated art. Their endurance lies in speaking the unspoken, whether in 800 AD or the digital age. A.Tang poetry’s influence still evolves creatively. B.Remarkably, Tang poetry bridges East and West. C.Strict formats are seen as tools for artistic expression. D.Scholars use these poems to study Tang Dynasty fashion trends. E.Additionally, it contributes to cultivating the ability of thinking. F.Meanwhile, it reveals the inclusive, optimistic and brave spirit of the times. G.Such imagery connects modern readers to Tang-era hardships and hopes. 第三部分 语言运用(共两节,满分30分) 第一节(共15小题;每小题1分,满分15分) I once worked in the remote but beautiful countryside. The idea took root during a 2023 trip to Stockholm, where Zhou Yan, a 32-year-old native from Gansu, 56 (notice) something: Japanese ramen (拉面) and Vietnamese pho (米粉) were easy to find, but authentic Chinese noodles were 57 (obvious) absent. Zhou saw an opportunity to introduce Swedes to Lanzhou beef noodles. Zhou quickly began preparations — studying local business regulations, hiring an experienced noodle-pulling chef, securing a location, 58 eventually opening Sweden’s first Lanzhou beef noodle restaurant. Since opening, Ox Lan 59 (see) a steady stream of customers —70 percent of them Swedish. “Customers are fascinated by the artistry of hand-pulled noodles,” Zhou explained. “They’re used to ramen and pho, 60 are often pre-made. Watching dough (面团) transform into noodles in front of them is 61 whole new experience.” Another unique feature is the option to choose 62 seven noodle widths, 63 (range) from 0.5 mm to 50 mm. In Lanzhou, the most popular 64 (choose) is erxi, the fourth thinnest, but in Sweden, people are open to trying all seven options. The car engine wasn’t off before Grandma hugged me. I slowly dragged myself out of the car. “Jude, you look unhappy. Why?” Grandma asked. She acted like nothing bad had happened last time. Could I ask how much money her neighbor Mr. Jackson had lost because of my mistake? Was he still upset with me? “I’m fine,” I answered. “I’m just missing my computer camp. Computers are something I’m good at.” “That sounds disappointing,” Grandma nodded. I liked visiting the farm during breaks before I messed things up last summer. Grandma lived alone, and Mr. Jackson was like family to her. Then one day I forgot to lock the gate and let the goats into his flower beds. He lost almost all his roses for the farmers’ market. Now, back at the farm, I felt nervous. I was trying to hide in the room when I saw Mr. Jackson! He was opening the door and calling Grandma. “I need help!” he yelled. “Just a second for the freshly harvested roses!” That was when he saw me. I felt my heart tighten and was ready for his criticism. I deserved it. He had probably been waiting for this moment since last summer. However, Mr. Jackson greeted me happily, “Great, Jude is here! Your grandma always tells us you are a wonderfully competent computer programmer.” I shook my head. “I am not competent. I am sorry I messed things up.” He was surprised and comforted me, “It was an accident. Being competent doesn’t mean you never make mistakes.” I looked out of the window. There were piles of roses waiting to be sold. “Jude, can you help us? We want to sell roses online. We have a computer and all the parts for our internet connection, but we just can’t set it up,” Grandma asked. No internet. They seemed to live in the 20th century. 注意: 1.续写词数应为150左右; 2.请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。 Maybe I could be someone who was really competent. _____________________________________________________________________ Within a few hours, orders for roses flooded in. _____________________________________________________________________ 试卷第1页,共3页 试卷第1页,共3页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $
