Mostpeopleassumethatthehumanbrainisset
on“automatic”—thatmeansitlearnsal byitself.
Butthisisntalwaystrue.Weneedtotrainourselves
tobebetterlearners—toactivelytakepartinthe
learningprocessandtoreflecton whatwehave
learnt.Thesekindsoflearningbehavioursarecaled
“activelearning”.Isuggestdoingfivethingstotake
anactiveroleinyourlearning.

Therearetwokindsofvoices:theinnervoice
andtheoutervoice.Yourinnervoiceexpressesyour
personalopinions,whiletheoutervoicetelsyouaG
boutopinionsfromwhatyouhearorread.Although
yourinnervoicecanbeuseful,itcanalsogetinthe
wayoflearning.IfyoukeeppayingtoomuchattenG
tiontoit,youriskmissingimportantinformation.
Instead,activelearnersareopenGmindedandfocus
onwhatthespeaker/writerissaying,notonwhat
theirbrainissayinginthebackground .Inthis
way,theyareinabetterpositiontomakedecisions.

youcanarguewithitasmostactivelearnersdo.
Whenyourinnervoicetelsyouaspeaker/writeris

脑能自动学习.但并非总是如此.我
们需 要 训 练 自 己 成 为 更 好 的 学 习 者
———积极参与学习过程并反思学到的
东西.这些学习行为叫作“主动学习”.
为 了 积 极 主 动 地 学 习,我 建 议 做 五
件事.

这里有两种声音:内心的声音和外
部的声音.内心声音表达你的个人意
见,而外部的声音告诉你关于听到或者
读到的观点.虽然你内心的声音或许
有用,但它也可能妨碍学习.如果你一
直过于关注它,就可能错过重要信息.
相反,主动学习者是开放的、专注于说
话人或者作者所说的话,而不是自己的
大脑在背景中说的话.通过这种方式,
他们可以更好地做出决策.

如果你发现内心的声音难以控制,
你可以像大多数主动学习者那样与之
辩论.当你的内心声音告诉你一个说
话人或作者是错误的时候,想想为什么

today,thinkaboutwhytheybelievethis.Where

sourceofanidea,nomatterhowcrazyitseems,you
wilincreaseyourchanceoflearningsomething.

Manypeoplemissoutonlearningopportunities
becausetheylettheirfeelingsgetintheway.They
refusetolearnorignorewhatissaidbecauseofwho
thespeaker/writeris.Itistruethatwecannothelp
dislikingsomepeople—thisishumannature,after
al.Butdonotforgetyoucanstillearnfromthem.
Activelearnersdonotjudgepeoplebasedonfirst
impressionsorpersonalfeelings.Instead,theysepaG
ratethemessagefromthemessenger.Thisgoesthe
otherwayaswel -donotjustassumethatsome
peoplearealwaysrightbecauseofwhotheyareor
justbecausetheyareyourfriends.

主动学习者不会全盘接受学到的
东西.他们努力(attemptto)从每个观
