He is so strong that he can lift the heavy box. ②若enough前出现否定词,则仅否定了enough,还否定了其后的不定式。 e.g. He was not strong enough to do the work. 他不够强壮,不能做这项工作。 2. ①“too+adjective+to do sth.”意为“太……而不能……”表示否定意义不定式之前可以带for sb., 表示不定式动作的执行者。如果在too之前加上not或never,该结构就不再有否定意义。 如: The house is too expensive for him to buy. 对他来说这房子太贵了,买不起。 He is never too old to learn.活到老,学到老。 ②“too…to...”结构可以与“so... that... ”结构及“not... enough to do sth”互换。 My brother is too young to join the army. =My brother is so young that he can’t join the army. =My brother is not old enough to join the army. 我弟弟太年轻了不能参军。 ③too…to…结构中,当to do后面的宾语是句中的主语的时,不定式后面的宾语应该省略;如 果不定式的动词为不及物动词的时,则应在动词后面加上适当的介词。 e.g. The house is too small to live in. (live in the house) The question is easy enough for everyone to answer.
