教学重难点
教材分析:该部分为阅读技能训练及语言学习的综合训练,所选课文描写两位中学生参加志愿服务以及各自对志愿服务的观点、看法。文章脉络清晰,首段陈述主题,后两段分写。活动3a-3c通过阅读强化对单元主题内容及语言项目的理解,为后续的语法总结归纳做好铺垫。
教学重点:正确使用动词不定式表达意愿,初步感知动词不定式在句中的多种角色;掌握文章出现的生词,达到熟练运用的目的;
阅读短文,获得相关有用信息,运用阅读策略,提高阅读能力;
教学难点:动词不定式在英语句子中的成分与作用。
教学过程
Step 1. Warming up.
Watch a video and talk about volunteering.
Step 2. Pre-reading.
Predict what the passage is mainly about by looking at the title and the pictures of the passage.
Ask some questions
(Tips:The title can be helpful for you to understand a text.)
T:What is the passage mainly about?
Ss: Students volunteer to help others.
Step 3. While-reading.
1. Skimming.
Read the article, answer the questions.
What are the names of the“students”?&Where are they from?
Read the article again and answer the questions.
Check the answers with the teacher.
(Guide Ss to find out the answers in the passage and deal with some language points, like a strong feeling of satisfaction, the look of joy)
2. Scanning.
Read the passage again and find out the names, workplaces, times, reasons and ideas or feelings of the two volunteers.
With the help of the cards, introduce the two volunteers.
Step 4. Retelling.
Have a structural analysis with the teacher.
Retell the passage based on the mind map.
Step 5. Practice.
Try to find out some infinitives from the passage.Then use them to complete the sentences below.
Step 6. Discussion.
Discuss in groups with four and think of some reasons and advantages of being a volunteer.
