①Do you want to try something different for lunch today? How about a battery? Believe it or not, there are now electronic products (电子产品) you can eat! It might sound strange, but it’s real. A scientist in Europe started a project called Robofood, and it’s making edible (可食用的) electronic products. These products aren’t just machines or robots. They can be food at the same time.
②One of Robofood’s coolest inventions is an edible drone (无人机). The drone helps to find missing people or animals. You can even eat the wings of the drone if you are hungry during an emergency because they are made from things like rice cakes and chocolate!
③Besides, Robofood has made an edible sensor (感应器). When you feel sick, you can eat one. The sensor would go into your stomach and help the doctor understand what’s going on inside you. It’s easier for your body to digest (消化) and you won’t feel uncomfortable.
④Another Robofood product—edible batteries are a great invention. They are made from something natural like apples. So, instead of throwing used batteries away, you can eat them. It’s a smart way to deal with used batteries without harming nature.
⑤ ▲ And the biggest one is finding something stronger for the drone’s wings to prepare for bad weather and high temperatures–of course, the chocolate is not hard enough. Robofood is also thinking how to make smaller sensors so that they will be much safer to eat and work well at the same time.
⑥People have different ideas about Robofood. Some people are very excited about these products, thinking they could help a lot of people in the future. Others aren’t so sure and want to wait patiently to see if these products can really work well. Anyway, we should be careful and see how things go.
36. Robofood is a project to ________.
A. make delicious food B. help homeless people
C. make edible electronic products D. make house-keeping robots
37. The edible drone will probably be helpful for ________.
A. Sam, a boy whose favorite pet died recently
B. Jerry, a student who didn’t get on well with others
C. Tony, a boy who broke his legs unfortunately
D. Susan, a girl who lost her way in the forest
38. Which sentence is the best to put in ▲ ?
A. In a word, Robofood’s products will be more and more popular.
B. Besides, Robofood is trying hard to make more delicious robots.
C. However, there are some difficult problems for Robofood to deal with.
D. But people are worried that edible robots will bring some danger.

Bao Xiaobo brought his daughter back to “life”
2024-02-29
(Bao and his daughter)
Bao Xiaobo, a musician and also a tech boss, has recently surprised the world by saying he used AI to bring his late (已故的) daughter back.
Bao’s daughter died of a blood disease a few years ago. Since then, Bao has stayed in the darkness and pain of losing her. He even avoided meeting his friends and relatives. To change this, starting from 2022, Bao Xiaobo began to work into AI technology, hoping to recreate his late daughter’s voice.
In January, Bao uploaded a video of his late daughter who sang Happy Birthday to her mother and said how much she missed her. Bao told people that after thousands of trying and training, he successfully created a “digital (数字的) daughter” using AI, who has the same memories and mind as his daughter. “I want her to continue living in the beautiful digital world,” he explained why he used technology to bring back his daughter.
With his digital daughter around, Bao felt less lonely and found hope again. He said he couldn’t succeed without the help of AI. And his deep love for his daughter also made it happen.
The story has touched many people online. Many worry that Bao might get lost in sad memories for even longer because he couldn’t let it go. But some worry about using this tech in the wrong way. They think it could cause problems with how we think about what it means to be human. Still, Bao’s work is a big step forward in tech, making us think more about how we use it and what’s right and wrong.

The Importance of the Ten-Minute Break
Recently, a topic about “A quiet 10-minute break” has been discussed widely. However, is it really good for us to sit in our seats all day?
The answer is surely No. In my opinion, we should relax and have a rest after class. It’s an opportunity for us to refresh our minds and bodies. Besides, we should get ready for the next class. The ten-minute break makes us stay active.
To make good use of the break between classes, I think we should get off our seats to do more sports. We can also chat with our friends or play games. If we don’t know what to do, just walk out of the classroom and enjoy the green plants or the fresh air.
In a word, everyone should realize the importance of making good use of a ten-minute break.
