为本课程旨在通过Anna参加英语角的校园活动案例,引导学生在语境中观察、认识一般过去时的表达结构,理解其使用意图;通过分类游戏,增加课堂互动性,引导学生分析、归纳出动词变过去式的基本规则;通过识别标志词,让学生判断出需要使用一般过去时的情况。

Purpose
Step 1 Lead in
1. Teacher has a conversation with Anna about her experience at the English corner yesterday.
Create the context for the simple past.
Step 2Find the structure
1. Teacher displays Anna’s words in the conversation.
2. Ss read the sentences and try identifying the verbs in the simple past.
3. Ss conclude what the simple past is used for and its structure.
Guide ss to observe and generalize the expressions of the simple past in contexts.
Step 3 Summarize the rules
1. Game time: put the stars into the correct baskets.
Ss play a game to categorize verbs according to the rules for changing the past form.
2. Teacher presents a chart of the regular changes for forming the simple past.
Ss fill in the blanks in the chart and summarize the rules at the same time.
3. Teacher presents a chart of the irregular changes for forming the simple past.
Ss read the chart after the teacher.
Attract ss' attention by engaging ss in a game that guides them to carefully observe and generalize the rules for changing verbs into the simple past form.
Step 4 Recognize the markers
1. Teacher shows the markers of the simple past.
2. Ss read Anna’s diary and underline the makers.
Ss learn to determine when to use the simple past by looking for markers.
Step 5 Practice
1. Ss use the simple past form of the verbs to fill in the blanks.
2. Teacher check the answers and lead ss to find the marker in the sentences.
Test the ss in practice to see if they can use the simple past as indicated by the markers and fill in the correct simple past form of the verbs
