1) 用法: 用来修饰实义动词,作状语;
(形容词用来修饰名词作定语或跟在连系动词后作表语)

2) 形容词变副词的规律:
①一般在adj.后面加-ly
eg. careful +-ly → carefully light + -ly → lightly slow + -ly→ slowly
② -le结尾的形容词,去e加-y
eg. possible → possibly 可能地 terrible → terribly 糟糕地
③ 辅音字母+-e,直接加-ly; 元音字母+-e,去e加-ly;
eg. polite → politely 有礼貌地 nice → nicely 好地
true → truly 真正地

1. piece n.意为 “一张(片、块、段、件……)”,是可数名词
a / 数词 + piece(s) of ... 作主语时,由piece 来确定谓语动词形式.

5. Would you mind + v.-ing...? 用来客气地提出请求,
否定形式为:Would you mind + not + v.-ing...?

② Would you mind + sb./one's + v.-ing...? = 用来提出询问,征求对方的意见
= Would you mind if + 从句 “如果我....你介意吗?”
eg. Would you mind my (me) smoking here?
= Would you mind if I smoke here?
不介意: Of course not./Certainly not./Not at all./No, go ahead./No, please(do)./No, do as you like.
介意:Sorry, you'd better not./I'm afraid you can't/I'm sorry but .../ I'd rather you don't.
6. learn to do sth. “学会做某事” ; learn sth. from sb.“向某学习做某事”。

learn sth. by oneself = teach oneself sth.自学做某事
eg. Kangkang learns to play chess from his father.
7. impolite 不礼貌的。其反义词为:polite 形容词,“有礼貌的,客气的”。
类似结构的词还有: possible (可能的)/ impossible (不可能的)
patient (有耐心的)/ impatient (没有耐心的)
be polite to sb. 对某人有礼貌
It’s impolite/polite (of sb.) to do sth. (某人)做某事没有/有礼貌。
eg. He is always polite to others.
It would be impolite to leave the party so early.
8. Help yourself / yourselves (to sth.) 请自便(吃...)/自用(....)
eg. Kids, help yourselves to some cakes.

13. if 和whether 都可以引导一般疑问句的宾语从句,后面跟陈述句形式,意为“是否”,两者通常能互换,且不可省略。从句表不确定的意义。
eg. 1. I don’t know if/whether I need to obey all the rules while I’m having dinner with my friends.
2. Could you tell me if/whether it’s polite to speak loudly at the table?
3. I don't know if/whether you are right.
但 whether 可与 or not 连用,而 if 不与 or not 直接连用。
eg. I’ll see whether she’s at home or not.

语法:副词的比较等级
1. 原级:没有比较对象,直接进行描述,修饰动词,作状语.
eg. Tom runs very fast.
同级比较结构:as...as 和 not as (so)....as。
eg. Linda dances as well as Lucy.
2. 比级级:两者比较,结构:比较级+ than + 比较对象.
eg. They go to school earlier than I.
3. 最高级:三者或三者以上比较,
结构:最高级+句末的in/of/among...介词短语.
注意:副词的最高级前可省略“the”。
eg. Li Jun jumps highest in our class. 在我们班李军跳得最高。
4.形容词和副词比较等级构成的规律
一. 规则变化:
1.一般在词尾直接加-er,-est
eg. fast—faster—fastest high—higher—highest
2.以字母e结尾的,加-r,-st
eg. late—later—latest
3.以“辅音字母+y”结尾的,把y变成i,再加-er,est
eg. early—earlier—earliest
5.多音节或部分双音节副词,以及由 “形容词+ly”构成的副词, 变比较等级加more或most。
eg. quickly—more quickly—most quickly
happily—more happily—most happily
carefully—more carefully—most carefully
二. 不规则变化:
