布鲁斯音乐的起源
One style of music that expresses a lot of
emotions is a music style called the blues. Blues
music began as a way for people to show their
emotions when they were down and needed hope.
The first recorded blues song did not happen
until the early 1900s. Howeverꎬ people have been
singing the blues for a much longer time. The
words and the rhythm (节奏) express or show
how people sometimes feel. When people first
came to Americaꎬ they began to set colonies (殖
民地). Slave (奴隶) traders took people from
their homes in Africa. They brought them by ship
to the colonies. They sold these people as slaves.
Most of the people who became slaves were from
West Africa. They did not want to come to
America. They did not want to be slaves. They
wanted to be free and go home. They showed their
feelings in their music.
As the colonies grewꎬ more slaves were
brought to America. Slaves were forced to work in
the fields to help grow crops (庄稼). As the
slaves workedꎬ they would sing songs. The songs
would include many voices. Many of the slaves
also sang spiritual (宗教的) songs. They would
sing these songs in worship (做礼拜). The music
that is called the blues was born from these
different types of songs.
Since people began singing the bluesꎬ there
have been many famous blues singers and musicians.
