Do you take your own shopping bag with you when you go shopping? Most people don’t. It’s easier to just ask for a plastic bag when you’re checking out. But the truth is that most of these bags will end up in the ocean, killing wildlife and even ending up in the seafood that we eat.
Plastic pollution has become a major problem around the world. China creates about 59 million tons of plastic waste each year, while the US creates about 37 million tons, according to a 2018 scientific report.
But two sisters from Bali are doing their part to stop this from happening. They started a global campaign called Bye Bye Plastic Bags (BBPB) . Its members encourage people to use fewer plastic bags. They also advise local leaders in their area to ban the bags.
Melati Wijsen, 17, and her sister Isabel, 15, started BBPB in 2013 after learning about great leaders like Nelson Mandela and Lady Diana in school. They asked themselves, “What can we do as children living in Bali, now, to make a difference?”
The Wijsen sisters have spoken to 20,000 young people about the dangers of plastic. They also created two educational booklets for primary schools in Indonesia.
They are crazy about their work, especially when it comes to protecting Bali. Their hard work pushed officials in Bali to make the island refuse plastic bags by 2018.
The sisters have no plans to stop any time soon. Though they know there will be difficulties along the way, they think their hard work will pay off. “Were not telling you it’s going to be easy. We’re telling you it’ going to be worth it,” Isabel said.
24. What does the first paragraph talk about?
A. How to go shopping. B. The bad condition of the ocean.

In the past, most Chinese people ate three meals at home. They had breakfast in the morning, a big lunch at noon, and a happy supper in the evening.
But these days, both men and women in big cities have to work on weekdays. They often eat breakfast in a hurry — sometimes at home; sometimes in their offices. They usually have bread, eggs, milk or porridge. Most people don’t have enough time to enjoy their lunch at home, so take-away food is very popular. Working people often get a quick lunch near their working places.
After a day of hard work, many people want a big supper. So everybody tries to get home to stay with his or her family. Wives often cook meat, fish, chicken, vegetables and rice. You can also find dumplings and noodles on the table in most families in the north of China.
28. What does “take-away food” mean in the passage?
A. 带来的食品 B. 外卖的食品 C. 分开的食品 D. 好吃的食品
29. Chinese people usually have _______ for breakfast.
A. fish B. rice C. dumplings D. eggs
30. Why do people in big cities have a quick lunch now?
A. Because they want to have a big dinner after work.
B. Because they have to work. They don’t have enough time for a big lunch.
C. Because they want to lose weight by eating little.
D. Because they like take-away food better than home cooking.
31. Which of the following is TRUE according to the passage?

Artificial intelligence (AI) plays an important role in the Asian Games Hangzhou 2022 and Asian Para Games. These terms might sound familiar, but how smart are they when applied to the 56 Asian Games venues (场地)?
Their smartness can be found in running the venues with less human labor forces. At the Huanglong Sports Center, a system called Smart Stadium Brain is built. A 25 square meter high definition screen lays in the venue’s information center, which guarantees a friendly environment for the athletes and audiences. A small screen on each seat is designed to be at the audience’s service. By finger touching, the audience can control it conveniently to watch and keep contact with the event. What’s more, supported by the 5G technology.
AI also means further protection on environment. At the Fuyang sports Center, although it has been raining for days, the roof of the venue still remains dry. And the secret lies in its attractive sky garden. The garden, is not only eye-catching but also useful. It allows the greening rate of the entire stadium to reach as high as 45%, being energy-saving. Bus driver Charlie was out at 3 am to drive his bus around Torresdale Avenue near Cottman in the Tacony neighborhood when he saw a tiny girl waiting at the bus stop. It was Jill, a 4-year-old little girl.
It was the early hours of a rainy morning and Charlie was out to drive his SEPTA’s 56 bus on his regular route. As usual, he picked up his passengers one by one. Of course, he had no idea that he would pick up a special passenger at this time in the morning. Just as he was about to pass a stop near the Tacony neighborhood, a woman passenger told him about a little girl she had seen, all alone waiting at the bus stop. He stopped his bus and was amazed at what he had seen. Wearing her purple raincoat, sleeping clothes, and her boots, little Jill waspatiently waiting for the bus to stop so she could ride on it.
The bus driver could not believe his eyes. His passengers at the time were also surprised to see a tiny kid all alone in the rain at that moment. Seeing a child about the age of a preschooler at 3 am without any adult with her was surely a shock. Charlie was worried about her and then he had an idea. He had to do something to take the little girl safely back home.
He and the passengers on the bus tried to find out how this had happened. As it turned out, Jill even walked 5 blocks in the rain before she reached the bus stop where she was found. Without hesitation, Charlie called the local police and told them of the little girl.
As Jill sat on the bus, the passengers comforted her and made sure she was okay. As the little girl sat with the other passengers, she shared her mission (使命) that early morning. “All I want is a box of chocolates,” she said.

Do you take your own shopping bag with you when you go shopping? Most people don’t. It’s easier to just ask for a plastic bag when you’re checking out. But the truth is that most of these bags will end up in the ocean killing wildlife and even ending up in the seafood that we eat.

They usually have bread, eggs, milk or porridge. Most people don’t have enough time to enjoy their lunch at home, so take-away food is very popular. Working people often get a quick lunch near their working places.

Under the cobblestones (鹅卵石), a recovery system is filtering (过滤) and collecting rainwater for the venue’s water system, and irrigation water.
32. Which of the following can replace the underlined word “guarantee” in Para2?
A. Adapt to. B. Take advantage of. C. Get used to. D. Make sure of.
33. What can we learn from Para 2?
A. Small screen must be supported by the 5 G technology.
B. The audience can control small screens on their seats easily.

A By saving energy. B. By recycling the rainwater.
C. By collecting rainwater system of the sky garden. D. By improving the greening rate.
