Grammarly is a writing assistant that job seekers, writers, and other professionals can use to proofread and edit their documents. It checks for spelling, grammar, and punctuation (标点符号) errors, and enhances vocabulary usage. How does Grammarly work? Grammarly gives your document an overall score based on the number of issues and errors it’s found. It then walks you through a series of possible grammatical problems, one at a time. Both a short and a long explanation are provided by the system for each issue that’s identified. Specific wording alternatives are suggested by the system in some cases. But it’s left to the user to make any specific changes — Grammarly won’t force your hand. You have the option of ignoring possible problems if you don’t agree with the recommended changes. A handy originality checker can help writers identify any unintentionally borrowed content. The system points out similar text that exists elsewhere, and it suggests citations that can be added to legitimize the text in question. A word choice checker is available that enables users to choose optional wording and to avoid repetition. Advantages of Grammarly Using Grammarly is always a great decision because it saves you valuable time. It can quickly discover and resolve various kinds of errors, allowing users to concentrate on generating quality content rather than technical details. Grammarly encourages you to maintain simplicity and clarity in your work. This easily ensures that your writing is easy to follow. Disadvantages of Grammarly Grammarly is not perfect. It can occasionally miss mistakes or make inaccurate corrections to your work. One of Grammarly’s biggest weaknesses is that it might lead to over-reliance on its sweet-alluring technology. Some Grammarly users may become so reliant on it that they fail to develop their writing skills. 1.How does Grammarly serve the users? A.Lt rewrites the documents for free. B.It gives suggestions on creative ideas. C.It automatically removes the errors in the text. D.It identifies spelling, grammar, and vocabulary issues. 2.Which function of Grammarly helps users recognize accidentally copied material? A.A handy originality checker. B.An overall score calculator. C.A word choice checker. D.A grammar explainer. 3.Using Grammarly, one will ________. A.focus on technical issues B.discover any possible errors C.work on their writing efficiently D.develop their writing skills quickly 【答案】1.D 2.A 3.C 【导语】这是一篇应用文。 根据第一段第二句“It checks for spelling, grammar, and punctuation errors, and enhances vocabulary usage. (它检查拼写、语法和标点错误,并提升词汇用法。)”可知,Grammarly通过识别拼写、语法和词汇问题来为用户服务。故选D项。 2.细节理解题。根据第四段第一句“A handy originality checker can help writers identify any unintentionally borrowed content. (一个便捷的原创性检查器可以帮助作者识别任何无意借用的内容。)”可知,是便捷的原创性检查器帮助用户识别意外抄袭的材料。故选A项。 3. 根据第六段第一、二句“Using Grammarly is always a great decision because it saves you valuable time. It can quickly discover and resolve various kinds of errors, allowing users to concentrate on generating quality content rather than technical details. Passage(1) (24-25高三上·北京昌平·期末)Founded in 2014, Remerge has established itself as a leading app targeting players globally, with offices spanning Berlin, New York, Singapore and so on. Read on as we look at some of our favourite social games. Slots Millions of people developed a passion for slots during their young age, which often stays with them into adulthood. Operators offer hundreds of different titles to suit every budget level, making them a great way to spend your social time. Bingo Bingo was a main social activity for the working class in the UK after World War II and remains popular today. Land-based venues still host games regularly, although most players favor modern bingo sites where they can interact with others via attached chatrooms. It can also be played ‘live’ with friends and family at home, and even incorporate a winter theme. Poker While the Internet makes it easy to access poker games, we prefer organising a ‘poker night’ at home with friends and family. You can set up a game that costs just a few pounds. A single game with five or six players can take two or three hours, making it the perfect platform to build a social get-together. Upwords Players are required to build words using letter tiles on a gameboard. Letters can be piled on top of others already on the board to create new words. The higher the pile of letters, the more points are scored, which typically makes words built later in the game more valuable. 1.Which activity might recall memories of the childhood? A.Slots. B.Bingo. C.Poker. D.Upwords. 2.What do Bingo and Poker have in common? A.They both suit every budget level. B.They can be both played online and offline. C.They can both be combined with a winter theme. D.They both originated in the UK during World War II. 3.What is the main purpose of this passage? A.To persuade people to stay occupied in winter. 和Poker中的“While the Internet makes it easy to access poker games, we prefer organising a ‘poker night’ at home with friends and family. 根据第一段“Playing social games is an excellent way to stay occupied during winter. We’ll always have the Met in New York and the Louvre in Paris, but nowadays you’ll find a museum for absolutely everything and everyone. Here are some interesting museums. Museum of Bad Art(Boston, Massachusetts) The mission of MOBA is to collect, exhibit and celebrate art that will be shown in no other venue. Highlights include Lucy in the Field with Flowers, a painting found in 1993 leaning against a trash barrel, waiting for garbage collection. This painting was the first of the MOBA collection. A low point and a must-see — is the painting Our Lady or Perpetual Housework. The Mob Museum (Las Vegas, Nevada) This 1933 former U. S. post office and federal courtroom was bought by the city of Las Vegas in 2002 for $1, with the condition it be used for something cultural, like a museum. Officially the National Museum of Organized Crime and Law Enforcement, this museum tells a visual story of the war between the mob and the police. The museum ends its tour by inviting you into a fully operational — and legal — speakeasy. International Tennis Hall of Fame (Newport, Rhode island) This museum was built on the site of the first United States National Lawn Tennis Championships in1881(which grew into the U. S. Open in New York). A highlight is a Kings Court for “court tennis,” first played by monks and kings dating back to 1538. In this ancient game, the ball can bounce off the walls and windows and still be in play. There are only 10 such courts in North America, as they cost approximately $3 million to make. 1.What do we know about the Museum of Bad Art? A.Its collections are all masterpieces. B.It is the most popular museum in Boston. C.It aims to show art not displayed elsewhere. D.It only exhibits paintings found near trash barrels. 2.Why was the former U. S. post office and federal courtroom sold for just $1? A.Because the building was in bad condition. B.Because the building was linked with illegal activities. C.Because the owner wanted to give it away for charity. D.Because the city agreed to use it for cultural purposes. 3.Where might this passage be taken from? A.A travel magazine. B.A sports brochure.C.A history textbook. D.A research paper. 根据第二段第一句“The mission of MOBA is to collect, exhibit and celebrate art that will be shown in no other venue.(MOBA 的使命是收集、展览和赞美那些不会在其他任何地方展出的艺术品。)” 根据第三段第一句“This 1933 former U.S. post office and federal courtroom was bought by the city of Las Vegas in 2002 for $1, with the condition it be used for something cultural, like a museum.(这座 1933 年建成的前美国邮局和联邦法庭在 2002 年被拉斯维加斯市以 1 美元买下,条件是将其用于文化用途,比如建博物馆。)” We’ll always have the Met in New York and the Louvre in Paris, but nowadays you’ll find a museum for absolutely everything and everyone. Here are some interesting museums.(博物馆已经发生了变化。我们总是有纽约的大都会博物馆和巴黎的卢浮宫,但现在你会发现一个绝对适合所有人的博物馆。这里有一些有趣的博物馆。)”可知,文章主要介绍了三个不同地方有趣的博物馆,介绍了它们的特色等内容。结合选项可知,A选项“旅游杂志”符合这种介绍各地特色景点的风格。故选A项。 Passage(6) (2025·北京海淀·一模)Hong Kong was once seen as a cultural desert. But since around 1997, when it returned to China, the idea of an arts enclave (艺术飞地) emerged. After nearly 30 years, the West Kowloon Cultural District has formed, with world-class venues. Here’s a guide to what’s new. Free Space As the name suggests, this performing-arts center is designed to be flexible and imaginative. The bunker-like complex houses a black box theater and studios for experimental performances and dance, as well as the Lau Bak Livehouse, a coffeehouse and bar with live music on weekends. Hong Kong Palace Museum Resembling a Chinese gold ingot (金元宝), this museum showcases artifacts from China’s imperial palaces, including Ming dynasty ceramics, scroll paintings, and double-headed dragons from the National Palace Museum in Beijing’s Forbidden City. Art Park Hugging the waterfront promenade, this expansive lawn is an ideal place for joggers, picnickers, museum-goers, and dog walkers. There are more than a dozen places to eat and drink throughout — around sunset, grab a seat at one of the harbor side cafés below the Palace Museum. The facilities are spotless, too. Xiqu Center This performance hall, which hosts Cantonese opera, has an exterior with aluminum shingles that resemble fish scales. A large opening fills the atrium (中庭) with breezes and natural light. Even if xiqu (Chinese opera) isn’t your cup of tea, the public atrium is an inviting place to rest before exploring the shops along Canton Road. 1.What do Free Space and Art Park have in common? A.People can walk dogs there. B.People can enjoy coffee there. C.People can listen to music there. A.focus on technical issues B.discover any possible errors C.work on their writing efficiently D.develop their writing skills quickly Passage(1) (24-25高三上·北京昌平·期末)Founded in 2014, Remerge has established itself as a leading app targeting players globally, with offices spanning Berlin, New York, Singapore and so on. Start a play street — a community event where neighbors close their road to traffic, creating a safe space for children to play. This event allows kids and adults to explore, create and socialize, which, undoubtedly, will bring the bonds between neighbors to a new height. Compared to structured plays with strict rules and fixed procedures, a play street allows children to lead, establish rules and get involved in an open-ended activity without specific instructions, methods or goals. Getting Started: 1. Host a meeting to discuss benefits and encourage involvement. Choose an event date and assign tasks to the neighbors. 2. Reach out to city councils (市委会) for necessary permits to close the road. Ignoring this will lead to the cancellation of the whole plan. 3. Use posters, flyers, and social media to spread the word. Using these promotion means to inform residents of the date, time and activities planned for the play street. 4. Set up barriers for safety, provide equipment and encourage neighbors’ participation. What to Expect: ·Game Areas: A variety of play equipment tailored for kids, such as jump ropes, balls, chalk for drawing, hula hoops and other outdoor games. ·Swapping Corner: A place where moms can bring unwanted items such as kitchenware, gardening tools or other household goods to exchange with each other. ·Arts and Crafts Seating: Arts and crafts seating with materials like paper, markers, crayons, paints and brushes. Children are encouraged to get creative and express themselves through art. ·Snack and Refreshment Station: Light refreshments like water, juice, fruit and healthy snacks to keep mixed-age participants energized. A potluck to share homemade treats and recipes. 1.What is the purpose of “a play street”? A.To prevent city traffic jams. B.To strengthen community bonds. C.To explore kids’ artistic potential. D.To involve children in structured plays. 2.What is a must to hold the event? A.Raising funds from the public. B.Posting the safety regulations. C.Asking for authorities’ approval. Passage(4) (2025·北京·一模)Playing social games is an excellent way to stay occupied during winter. B.To introduce different creative types of winter sports. C.To recommend some popular social games for winter. D.To compare the differences between various social games. Passage(5) (2025·北京·二模)Museums have changed. Passage(6) (2025·北京海淀·一模)Hong Kong was once seen as a cultural desert.
