Have you ever thought about running a marathon (马拉松)? A friend of mine, Stephen, has started training for one, but the idea of completing 26 miles surprises me a lot because it puts a lot of stress on the body.
First, Stephen went to his doctor to make sure he didn’t have heart disease. When he was told he was fit enough to do it, my friend started running every afternoon. He keeps training and makes progress every day. All this training is helping him a lot.
Experts advised him to warm up just before the race because he might get hurt during the race. The biggest problem during the marathon seems to be the water. Experts say that on a hot and humid (湿热的) day we can lose too much water. Those who don’t drink enough may suffer a lot. According to experts, a month before the race, a marathon runner should be able to go for 15 miles without feeling too much pressure. Well, Stephen is close to achieving this.
I’m proud of my friend’s effort, but I miss our afternoons drinking beer, eating food and watching football. Stephen said running a marathon is all his dream. He said if he doesn’t make it this time, he will keep trying.

根据“You must take part in the relay race with others, such as friends, sports clubs and families. Each team should have four adults.” 故选A。
根据“Rules to follow ● It’s a short-distance race, but runners have to carry a bag of potatoes while running—20 kilos for men and 10 kilos for women.”
根据“Rules to follow”中的“● Men have to finish the hurdling. Be careful when you’re jumping over the one-metre-high fences (障碍物) while running. Safety first.”
根据“What you get ● Free entry ● Finisher’s medal ● A bag of potatoes”可知,参赛者可以得到免费入场券、完赛奖牌和一袋土豆,没有提到钱。故选D。

Lucy was excited and a little nervous. Today was the day of her first soccer game. She put on her blue and white uniform, laced up her new cleats (防滑鞋), and tied her brown hair back into a ponytail (马尾辫). Her heart was racing as she stepped onto the grassy field.
The referee blew the whistle, and the game began. Lucy tried to remember all the things she learned at practice. She ran fast, kept her eye on the ball, and passed it to her teammates. In the middle of the game, Lucy saw her chance. She kicked the ball with all her might and watched as it sailed into the goal. Lucy had scored her first goal! Her team cheered loudly.
But the game wasn’t over yet. There was a mix-up in their defense, and the other team scored a goal. The score was now tied at 1-1. Lucy felt a knot in her stomach. She didn’t want to let her team down.
With just a few minutes left, Lucy got the ball again. She dribbled down the field, dodged a player from the other team, and took a shot. The ball went right into the net. Lucy had scored the winning goal!
As her teammates hugged her and her coach gave her a high five, Lucy couldn’t stop smiling.
1.How did Lucy feel before the game?
A.Excited and happy. B.Worried and nervous.

根据上文“Last year, he lost it.”
故填who。
根据上文“The road was bumpy (起伏不平) with lots of sudden turns, ...”
空白处应填入动作作谓语,且根据“... that his friend Riley was the only rider in front of him.”
故填was heard。
根据上文“Moments later, Eddie heard a cry. He looked around to see Riley lying on the road.” 故填to help。
根据“Eddie heard the loud cheer ... the winner.”
根据上文“Slowly, Eddie pushed his bike to the finish line.” 故填his。
根据“Then, to his surprise, Eddie heard a sound, and looked over at the crowd to see them cheering for him.”和“And there was his dad, ...” 故填the proudest。
