教学重点
1.引导学生整合本单元所学知识,包括与社区相关词汇、一般将来时以及连读技巧,进行综合性的语言输出。
2.培养学生的阅读理解能力和听力理解能力,使其能够获取关于社区活动和帮助信息的文本和听力材料,并完成相应任务。
教学难点
帮助学生在实际情境中灵活运用所学知识,用英语有条理地表达自己在社区中的参与计划和能够提供的帮助。
◇教学过程◇
Step 1 Leading in
1.Greet students and review the key words and phrases about community and neighbourhood.
2.Show some pictures of community activities and ask students to describe what they see and what they can do in these activities.
Step 2 Work on A
1.Ask students to read the notices on the noticeboard of the community centre and answer the questions:“Which club can help you if you have a problem with your phone?” “What other kind of help can a community centre offer?”
2.Check the answers together and ask students to explain their answers in English.
Step 3 Work on B
1.Listen to the requests for help from two of Simon’s neighbours at the community centre and ask students to complete the volunteer’s notes while listening.
2.Play the recording again and check the answers.
Step 4 Work on C
1.Play the recording of the conversation between Simon and Annie about the community book club meeting for students and ask them to listen carefully.
2.Ask students to answer questions about the conversation:“What will Simon and Annie do at the book club meeting?” “Why do they want to help?”
3.Listen again and check the answers.
4.Play the recording of the conversation and ask them to practise the conversation in pairs.
5.Invite several pairs of students to come to the front of the class and act out their conversations.
6.Give them praise and correct any mistakes.
Step 5 Work on D
1.Work on D1
(1)Ask students to look at Simon’s mind map of what he can do for his community and make their own mind map about what they can do for their community.
(2)After completion,ask some students to share their mind maps with the class.
2.Work on D2
(1)Play the recording of Simon’s speech script about what he can do for his community for students and ask them to listen carefully.
(2)Ask students to read the article again and underline the useful expressions and sentence structures.Then discuss these expressions and structures and explain how to use them.
3.Work on D3
(1)Ask students to write a speech script about what they can do for their community based on their mind map in D1.
(2)After the students finish writing,ask them to read their articles aloud to their partners and ask their partners to give comments and suggestions.
(3)Select a few excellent articles to share with the whole class and give praise and encouragement.
◇教学反思◇
通过本节课的整合训练,学生能够较好地运用所学知识进行听说读写活动,但在写作过程中,部分学生的演讲稿内容不够具体,语言表达不够生动。在今后的教学中,应加强写作指导。
