Called the “daughter of Dunhuang”, her story with the caves started 60 years ago. In 1963, Fan, then a 25-year-old Peking University graduate, had the chance to work at the Mogao Caves, a place which she had wanted to explore for a long time. “Seeing Dunhuang for the first time was breathtaking. But only when truly staying here did I realize that inside the caves is a world of divine (神圣) beauty while outside is a land of blowing sand and yellow earth.” Fan told Gansu Daily. Back in those days, the Mogao Caves were almost completely cut off from the world. Fan and her co-workers had to live in mud houses and drink salty water. They stayed inside the caves to do research, copy murals (壁画), and do whatever they could to protect and restore them. In 2011, after 40 years of hard work, a report on 10 Mogao Caves compiled (编写) by Fan’s team was finally published. It was known as China’s first professional report on cave archaeology, reported Gansu Daily. As time passed, Fan found a serious problem. The increasing number of tourists visiting Dunhuang might harm the caves, causing the murals inside to fade. A solution needed to be found to preserve Dunhuang’s heritage (遗产). In the late 1980s, Fan came across computer technology by chance. She realized that this might preserve the Mogao Caves forever. After over 30 years of exploration, the Dunhuang Academy built a digital database to protect cultural relics (文物) there, allowing Dunhuang’s art to live forever and to step out of the caves to meet the world. “In my whole life, I’ve only done one thing: protect and promote the world cultural heritage of the Mogao Caves,” she told People’s Daily. “My heart belongs to Dunhuang.” 41.The underlined word “preserve” in paragraph 7 means ________. A.increase B.protect C.improve D.change 42.What’s the genre (体裁) of this passage? A.A story which is made up by imagination. B.A mystery which waits to be uncovered. C.A profile which gives facts about a person. D.A science report which focuses on the discovery of Mogao Caves. 43.What can we learn about Fan from the article? A.She began her work at the Mogao Caves at the age of 23. B.She studied archaeology at Tsinghua University. C.Her health was affected by her hard work. D.She is a woman of great determination. 44.What pushed Fan to establish a digital database for the Mogao Caves? A.Her desire to promote Chinese culture. B.Her interest in computer technology. C.The need to document the restoration work. D.The increasing threat to the physical caves. 45.What would be the best title for the passage? A.The Struggle of A Guard of Dunhuang B.Returning to Mogao Caves C.The Success of An Archaeologist D.Deep Connection to Caves 【答案】41.B 42.C 43.D 44.D 45.A 【导语】本文主要介绍了考古学家樊锦诗为保护敦煌莫高窟所做的贡献。 41. 根据“She realized that this might preserve the Mogao Caves forever.” 根据“Back in those days, the Mogao Caves were almost completely cut off from the world. Fan and her co-workers had to live in mud houses and drink salty water.” 由“The increasing number of tourists visiting Dunhuang might harm the caves, causing the murals inside to fade.”以及第六段中“In the late 1980s, Fan came across computer technology by chance…allowing Dunhuang’s art to live forever and to step out of the caves to meet the world.” A“The Struggle of A Guard of Dunhuang”最能反映文章的主题。故选A。 C It might be strange to wear clothes made out of plastic bottles. But in fact, some clothing companies are making clothes like these. Fashion brand (品牌) JUMA recently showed its newest collection at a workshop in Shanghai. Eighteen clothing items (件) from the collection, including pants, jackets, shirts and dresses, were made from recycled plastic bottles. “We realized that billions of water bottles are thrown into oceans every year and these bottles take hundreds of years to break down. We thought we should use them to make our clothes and protect the environment ,” said Alia Juma, the company’s designer. “Five bottles can make a shirt, 10 for a dress, and 20 for a short coat. Many other fashion companies are looking for similar ways to save our planet these days. The process is rather simple. First, the plastic bottles are washed and cut into small pieces. Then they are melted (熔化) and shaped into small balls. The balls are melted again to form a line. People can then use the line to make different kinds of clothes. According to JUMA, it takes 67,000 bottles to originate 1 ton of lines. This cuts down carbon emissions (碳排放) by 4.2 tons and water use by 6.2 tons compared with the normal way of making lines. Some people might have doubts about wearing something made out of plastic bottles. But according to Causeartist, a website that focuses on innovation (创新), clothes made from plastics could be even better than those made from common materials. Plastic lines also can be made into different materials, such as cotton, silk, or even wool. It seems that this innovation may lead to a greener future of fashion. 46.What were these eighteen clothes made from? A.Recycled metal. B.Recycled litter. C.Recycled paper. D.Recycled plastic bottles. 47.How can we make clothes according to Paragraph 3? ①Cut them into small pieces.                ②Wash the plastic bottles. ③Melt the balls again to form a line.        ④Melt and shape them into small balls. A. ①→②→③→④ B.④→②→①→③ C.②→①→④→③ D.③→②→①→④ 48.What does the underlined word “originate” mean? A.Waste. B.Create. C.Find. D.Save. 49.What can we infer from the last paragraph? A.Plastic bottles will take the place of other materials. B.Plastic can only be used to make clothes. C.People don’t like the clothes made from plastic. D.The future of making plastic clothes is bright. 50.What is the writer’s purpose in writing this passage? A.To make everyone be more environment-friendly. B.To tell everyone new materials are common. C.To let everyone buy clothes made from plastics. D.To show different people like different kinds of clothes. 【答案】46.D 47.C 48.B 49.D 50.A 【导语】本文主要讲的是将废弃的塑料瓶重复利用,用来制作衣服,创建环保社会的事。 46.细节理解题。根据“Eighteen clothing items (件) from the collection, including pants, jackets, shirts and dresses, were made from recycled plastic bottles.”可知,18件服装是由回收塑料瓶制作的。故选D。 47.细节理解题。根据第三段“First, the plastic bottles are washed and cut into small pieces. Then they are melted (熔化) and shaped into small balls. The balls are melted again to form a line. People can then use the line to make different kinds of clothes.”可知,这个公司制作服装的过程是:先清洗塑料瓶并切成小块,然后熔化为小球状,然后再次把球熔化形成线;顺序为②→①→④→③。故选C。 48.词句猜测题。根据第四段“According to JUMA, it takes 67,000 bottles to originate 1 ton of lines.”可知,67000个瓶子可以产1吨线;“originate”表示“产生;创造”。故选B。 49.推理判断题。根据最后一段“It seems that this innovation may lead to a greener future of fashion.”可知,制造塑料衣服的前景是光明的。故选D。 50.主旨大意题。通读全文可知,文章主要讲用废弃的塑料瓶制作衣服,目的是让每个人都更环保。故选A。 第二节 阅读下面短文,从短文后所给的六个选项中选出能填入短文空白处的最佳选项,使短文通顺、连贯,意思完整。(共5小题;每小题2分,满分10分) D Many factors can affect a good night’s sleep—from work stress and family responsibilities to illnesses. 51 You might not be able to control the factors that affect your sleep. However, you can develop habits that bring you better sleep. Stick to a sleep schedule. Try to go to bed and wake up at the same time each day, even at the weekend. Of course, it’s natural to have nights when you stay up later than usual, whether you’re preparing for the next morning or having fun at a party. 52 But try to go to bed at your usual time the following evening. 53 Don’t go to bed hungry or on a full stomach. Remember to avoid heavy or large meals within a couple of hours of bedtime. Don’t smoke or drink alcohol (酒) either. Even though alcohol might make you feel sleepy at first, it can stop you from sleeping later in the night. Get up when you can’t sleep. On some nights, it can be difficult to fall asleep or stay asleep. 54 If you toss and turn for 20 minutes or more, get out of bed and do something relaxing like reading a book or listening to music. Then return to bed and try again. Include physical activity in your daily routine (常规). A daytime routine is just as important as a bedtime routine. Including physical exercise into your routine can help you feel more tired at night and promote better sleep. You can spend some time outside every day. 55 A.It’s OK if you stay up late sometimes. B.Stress management might help you. C.Pay attention to what you eat and drink. D.However, avoid being active just before bedtime. E.It’s no wonder that quality sleep is sometimes difficult to get. F.You may toss and turn (辗转反侧), count sheep and become upset. 【答案】51.E 52.A 53.C 54.F 55.D 【导语】本文主要介绍了几个改善睡眠的建议。 51.根据上文“Many factors can affect a good night’s sleep—from work stress and family responsibilities to illnesses”和下文“You might not be able to control the factors that affect your sleep.”可知,该处是此处介绍影响睡眠的因素,所以有时很难拥有好睡眠,而选项E“难怪高质量的睡眠有时很难获得”符合语境。故选E。 52.根据上文“Of course, it’s natural to have nights when you stay up later than usual, whether you’re preparing for the next morning or having fun at a party.”和下文“But try to go to bed at your usual time the following evening.”可知,该处是指偶尔熬夜是没有关系的,所以选项A“你有时熬夜也没关系”符合语境。故选A。 53.根据下文“Don’t go to bed hungry or on a full stomach. Remember to avoid heavy or large meals within a couple of hours of bedtime. ”可知,此处是跟饮食有关的小标题,所以选项C“注意你的饮食”符合语境。故选C。 54.根据上文“On some nights, it can be difficult to fall asleep or stay asleep.”和“If you toss and turn for 20 minutes or more, get out of bed and do something relaxing like reading a book or listening to music.”可知,此处跟翻来覆去睡不着有关,所以选项F“你可能辗转反侧,数羊,变得心烦意乱”符合语境。故选F。 55.根据上文“Including physical exercise into your routine can help you feel more tired at night and promote better sleep. You can spend some time outside every day.”可知,该处和运动有关系,所以选项D“然而,不要在睡前活动”符合语境。故选D。 第三节 阅读下面短文,根据短文内容回答问题。(共5小题;56 - 59每小题2.5分,第60小题3分,满分13分) E “Look at this!” I said to my friend Mandy, holding up the bright-red flyer (传单) I found in the library. “There’s a five-day art camp at White Cliff this summer.” Mandy looked at the paper and paused. “It’s the last week of July,” she said. “That’s the same time as the Hill County Fair. ” I had expected that. “Yeah, but we always go to the fair.” Mandy handed the flyer back and started checking out the new books. “Tessa, you’re the artist,” she said, smiling. “My brother thought the flowers I painted were rocket ships. ” “You could learn to draw, ” I said. I really didn’t want to go alone. Mandy laughed. “You sound like an advertisement.” Later, I called Emily and Yoshiko. Emily would be out of the city, and Yoshiko was going to the fair. I sighed (叹息) and stared at the fyer. “What’s this?” Mom asked, picking it up. “An art camp,” I said. “But none of my friends are going.” Mom gave my shoulder a gentle tap. “Maybe next year.” “Maybe,” I said, heading outside to draw the Westons’ pine tree. Sitting on the front steps, I thought about the camp, wishing I could feel a little braver. Mandy could make friends in minutes, but my stomach twisted at the thought of it. I began drawing the pine’s strong trunk and branches, letting my worries melt away. Just then, Mr. Weston walked by. “You’ve showed the tree’s strength,” he said. He told me that how roots need to spread wide to help a tree grow tall. After he left, I noticed the roots spreading far from the trunk. It made me think about my own “roots”. A.The Struggle of A Guard of Dunhuang B.Returning to Mogao Caves C.The Success of An Archaeologist D.Deep Connection to Caves C It might be strange to wear clothes made out of plastic bottles.
