Ernst Mach was a weak child, born in Moravia(now Czechia)in 1838. He didn’t even go to school until the age of 14. Instead, his parents educated him at home. Like many genius children, his teachers criticized him, calling him “unteachable, absolutely talentless.” Yet young Mach excelled at university in Vienna. He studied mathematics, physics and philosophy. He was also boundlessly curious. He conducted all kinds of experiments, believing that theories must be tried, tested, and proven in facts, but first formulated in the mind. He brought this rigorous(严密的)approach to his studies, believing that true science is based on what actually happens and can be observed.
In addition to his work in the sciences, Mach was also a well-rounded student, with interests in philosophy and even sports. He was an excellent boxer and fencer, which reflected the wide range of his abilities and interests.
As a teacher, Mach was serious and demanding. That was the model of pedagogy (教学)of his time, and Mach followed this standard: tight collar, buttoned-down tie, waistcoat and jacket, and serious eyes behind wire-framed glasses. He expected exactness from his students. Among those he influenced was the young Albert Einstein. Mach’s insistence on clarity and rigorous testing of ideas helped shape Einstein’s thinking. Though Mach was doubtful about some of Einstein’s later conclusions, such as E=mc2, his doubt drove Einstein to prove his ideas further. He pushed the young Einstein to achieve excellence.
While Mach is credited with many theories of his own, including the aircraft velocity(速度)measurement that bears his name, “Mach 1. Mach 2, etc.”, his mentorship of Einstein is perhaps his greatest achievement. The best teachers in our lives also challenge us and see us as not yet complete but full of potential. They shine a light on the path that gets us to a successful reality. And through us, they live on.
4.What can we know about Ernst Mach from paragraph 1?
A.He attended university at the age of 14.
B.He was considered a genius by his teachers.

C.He introduced new theories to Einstein.
D.He inspired Einstein to focus on physics.
6.Which can best describe Ernst Mach?
A.Cautious and ambitious. B.Professional and influential.
C.Diligent and dependent. D.Incredible and accessible.
7.In which column of a magazine can we probably read this text?
A.Sports. B.Travel. C.Fashion. D.Education.

In the movie “The Wrong Trousers”, a pair of futuristic trousers lets people walk on walls and ceilings. Inspired by the movie, researchers in England developed “The Right Trousers”, a set of trousers embedded (嵌入) with electrical pumps to force air into tiny tubes that expand and can help elderly or disabled people with issues like getting up or improving blood flow. Now, material scientists, computer programmers and fabric designers are working to advance robotic clothing.
In June, researchers in Australia created robotic fibers, which can make fabric move automatically. Last year, scientists at MIT built fiber batteries that could be embedded into clothes and power robotic clothing. In recent years, Google partnered with brands like Levi’s and Adıdas to put sensors in jackets, backpacks and shoes, letting users access their phones instantly. Researchers said they could soon unlock a stage where clothing will act more like a computer, sensing how your body feels and telling your clothes how to help.
At the University of New South Wales in Australia, researchers are creating fabrics that can shape-shift. Thanh Nho Do, a senior lecturer at the school, said his team has created tiny tubes that can weave (编织) into sheets of fabric. These tubes can make fabric take various preprogrammed shapes. But challenges still remain for Do’s team, especially around making these robotic tubes smaller so they can weave easily with other fabrics.
Rebecca Kramer Bottiglio from Yale University agreed that many challenges remain before smart clothing “reaches their full potential.” It will be challenging to make these clothes, equipped with fibers and technology, strong enough to go through multiple cycles in the laundry (洗衣房), she said. Despite that, she says researchers will figure out a way forward. “Recent breakthroughs point toward a not-so-distant future where smart clothing will be a part of our everyday life.” she said.
8.What led to the creation of “The Right Trousers”?
A.An electrical pump. B.A health issue.
C.A tiny tube. D.A creative film.
9.What did scientists at MIT do last year?
A.They put sensors in clothes.
B.They created movable robotic fibers.
C.They made batteries for robotic clothing.
D.They released smart clothing connected to cellphones.
10.What does Do’s team find challenging?
A.Reducing the size of robotic tubes.
B.Keeping robotic tubes’ shape unchanged.
C.Programming the shape of robotic tubes.
D.Weaving robotic tubes into various fabrics.
11.What is Rebecca’s attitude toward the future of smart clothing?
A.Doubtful. B.Indifferent. C.Worried. D.Hopeful.

Museums are echoes of history that go beyond time and space. Recently, they have been attracting more and more visitors excited to experience culture directly. To meet the different and personalized needs of visitors, new methods, models and content have appeared, driving an increase in “museum tourism”.
The widespread use of digital technology has not only reduced the upkeep costs of cultural objects but also greatly cut down the geographical and physical boundaries of cultural resources, improving the visitor experience.
Technologies like XR glasses and 3D displays able to be enjoyed without special equipment are becoming key tools for interaction, enhancing the museum visitor experience. In July, the Shandong Art Museum hosted the “Endless Sea” AI digital art exhibition, China’s first marine- themed (海洋主题的) art show to use a new Al-generated content and user-generated content model, offering a deep, multi-layered experience.
Most museums rely on human or electronic guides. While human guides are interactive, they can be expensive. Electronic guides, on the other hand, often lack excitement and the “human touch”. In response, some museums have started trying out “digital-human” guides who can show maps, introduce exhibition, explain historical backgrounds, serve as brand ambassadors and mix historical atmosphere with modern elements. The digital-human guide is a new method designed to shift visitors from passive listening to active interaction, adding a high-tech element to cultural exchanges.
By using advanced technology and increasing global teamwork, museums are quickly becoming lively platforms offering deeper, more engaging cultural experiences. By combining tradition with modernization, museums are not only preserving history but also shaping the future of cultural engagement (参与).
12.What does the underlined word “upkeep” most likely mean in paragraph 2?
A.visiting B.maintaining C.selling D.transporting
13.Why does the author mention “Endless Sea” AI digital art exhibition?
A.To highlight a specific artwork in the exhibition.
B.To reveal the marine-themed art trend in China.
C.To show that technologies are adopted in museums.
D.To prove that AI technology is more interactive.
14.What is special about the digital-human guide?
A.It is too expensive. B.It lacks human touch.
C.It is widely used in museums. D.It brings about active interaction.
15.What is the main idea of this text?
A.Museum tourism is increasing rapidly.
B.Technologies are reducing museum quality.
C.New museum innovations offer deeper engagement.
D.Museums are facing greater challenges from technology.

Max arrived at an office, for his first interview. He used to live with his parents. He was frustrated with his parents blaming him for every little thing he did at home.
While waiting for the interview, he was thinking, “Only if I succeed in today’s interview will I say goodbye to my parents’ house and settle down in the big city, which will let me avoid having to listen to my parents’ complaints about little things all the time.”
He started thinking about little things his parents used to blame him for— How his mother asked him to make his bed after he woke up. If he left the bathroom door open, his mother would ask him to close the door and before that check if the tap was turned off properly. How his father asked him to switch off the fan or light switch before he left. How his mother always blamed him for not keeping things at the right places.
While thinking about all these, he thought, “Why should I listen to their words? Why should I do all these? If I get a job, I will definitely leave their home.”
When looking around, Max saw that there were many candidates (应试者) sitting in that office. He saw that the light in the office was still on and it was ten o’clock in the morning. Remembering his father’s words, he got up and switched off the light. When he saw that water was falling from the water cooler kept at the office, he went to turn off the tap properly.
It was time to go up to the second floor for the interview, everyone went upstairs in turn. On the way up the stairs, a chair stood in the way, and the other candidates bypassed it, but Max removed it, set it aside, and walked to the second floor.
Now, as Max waited outside, he saw the candidates in front of him keep going in and coming out immediately. After talking to these people, he learned that the interviewers didn’t ask them anything.
注意:1. 续写词数应为150个左右;
2. 请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。
It was Max’s turn to be interviewed. ___________________________________________

Film or book, which do you prefer?
Some of us think that it is better to see the film than to read the book in the original. The reason is that it takes less time to understand the whole story. Besides, the film is usually more interesting, and it is easier to follow.
However, others have just the opposite opinion. They think that they can get more detailed information from the original. Meanwhile, the language in the book is possibly more lively and beautiful.
Personally, I agree with the second view. Actually I have more reasons for it. I think I can stay at home, reading quietly in a situation of my own. What’s more, I am able to better understand the author’s ideas. In a word, to read the original work is better than to see the film based on it.
第二节(满分25分)
It was Max’s turn to be interviewed. He went inside and passed his file to the interviewers. After looking at his file, an interviewer asked, “When are you joining?” A wave of surprise flooded into Max’s mind. Looking at his face, the interviewer said, “Today, in interviews, no one was asked anything. We noticed everyone came but no one switched off the tap or light except you. You have good values and habits. This is what we evaluate most.”
After the interview, Max reached home and hugged his parents. He told them about the interview and the result. He apologized to them and thanked them. He said, “In my life, my degree has less value in comparison to the lessons I have learned from you because of your strict demand on small matters. Today, I come to know that not only education but good habits and values have their own importance if I want to succeed in life. A person who doesn’t have self-disciplines, no matter how smart he is, can’t succeed in his life.”
