What tense are these sentences in? Present continuous tense What is the structure of the present continuous tense? am/is/are + V-ing something that is happening now a new pattern (方式) or habit something that happens again and again temporary events (暂时行为) T: Are you ready? Question 1: What is Judy doing with Dr Ray, Lucas? Lucas: She is interviewing Doctor Ray about trees.【句子1】 T: Good. Question 2: Do scientists know a lot of about trees, Joyce? Joyce: No. They are now beginning to understand them.【句子2】 T: You’re right. Question 3: Why can trees pass food and water to each other and warn their neighbours about insects attacking them? They are in the present continuous tense，现在进行时.【问题1退出】【问题2】 T: What is the structure of the present continuous tense? 现在进行时的基本结构是什么？ T: 从课文中的这四句句子来看，现在进行时的结构是be动词am、is或are加上动词的ING形式。am/is/are的使用由主语的人称和数量决定。 T: The present continuous tense can be used in different cases. Let’s read the first sentence. Judy is interviewing Doctor Ray. This sentence tells what something is happening now. 这句句子描述的是正在发生的事件或正在进行的动作。【提示1】 T: Scientists are now beginning to understand them. This sentence describes a new pattern. 这句句子描述的是一种新的行为方式的生成，【提示2】也可以用来表示习惯的改变。 T: Trees are communicating with one another. Do they communicate with each other now? Did they do that? Will they do that too? It seems communicating with one another is a repeated action. 相互联系是一个在树木之间反复发生的行为，【提示3】在描述重复性的动作时，我们也可以使用现在进行时。 T: Now, the last sentence. We are destroying trees. Do it mean you are destroying trees at the moment? No. It shows people are destroying trees nowadays. 它描述是人们在近些时期一直在做破坏树木的事情，而不是指每个人此时此刻正在搞破坏。【提示4】所以现在进行时还可以用来表示暂时的行为动作。 T: Can you use the present continuous tense for other cases? I think you learned that in Grade 6. 3 Read and find out 4 In this picture, my son is kissing me. describe a picture/photo T: Now, read what the woman on the right says. ‘In this picture, my son is kissing me.’ Is her son kissing her at the moment? Of course not.
