Robots used to be found only in science fiction. In the 1960s, the animated (动画) space-age family the Jetsons had a robot who could do chores. In the 2014 movie Big Hero 6, the robot Baymax could help sick people feel better. In real life, robots are used in different places. They help make cars, clean floors and even help doctors and nurses practice taking care of patients.
Now robots are helping out in restaurants because there aren’t enough workers. Customers face longer wait times, fewer menu choices and higher food prices. So, some restaurant owners are lending a hand—a robotic hand in the form of server robots.
There are different kinds of server robots. Some look like rolling carts (手推车). One model named Bella even has a cute cat-like face. Many are short and shaped like R2-D2 of Star Wars. They are created to bring food to customers in a restaurant. They are just the right hor customers to easily reach their food. Restaurant owners like them because they are good at doing repetitive (重复乏味的) work. They can bring delicious food to hungry customers and collect dirty dishes at the end of the meal.
A server robot costs from a few thousand to several thousand dollars. In 2021, some restaurants even rented (租用) them for as low as $15 each day. So, using these robots is a good idea. Don’t be surprised if you see one coming to your table soon.
57. What’s the main idea of Paragraph 1?
A. Robots are useful in hospitals.
B. Robots have appeared in modern fiction.
C. Robots have gone from fiction to real life.
58. Why do restaurant owners use server robots?
A They can’t find enough workers.
B. Customers like server robots better.
C. They have little money to pay for their workers.
59. What are server robots good at?
A. Acting like pet cats.
B. Doing repetitive work.
C. Introducing different dishes.
60. What does the writer think of the future of server robots?
A. Bright. B. Uncertain. C. Worrying.

Our parents and teachers always tell us to “sit up straight” and “stand tall”. But why do they say that? ____61____ Or is there something more to it?
The truth is that how we hold our bodies can be important for our health. Meghan, a doctor, says slouching (低头垂肩地站或坐、走) can lead to sore necks, back problems, and even trouble with breathing. So maybe our parents and teachers are onto something.
____62____ They say that our spines (脊椎) are stronger than we think and that differences in how we stand or sit are just part of life.

If we’re always sitting up straight to work on a computer or slouching to use a phone, that might cause us some trouble.
____64____ That way, we can avoid getting stuck (动不了) in a slouch. We should also make sure we take breaks and stretch muscles (伸展肌肉) from time to time. That will help us feel light in our steps.
Anyway, don’t worry too much if you catch yourself slouching sometimes. ____65____ Just remember to sit up straight and stand tall now and then. Your body will thank you for it.
A. Can we slouch for hours?
B. So maybe our parents and teachers are right.
C. Is it just because they want us to look pretty?
D. The key is to keep our bodies active and change positions often.

In the 2014 movie Big Hero 6, the robot Baymax could help sick people feel better. In real life, robots are used in different places. They help make cars, clean floors and even help doctors and nurses practice taking care of patients.

Dear Tina,
I’m writing to share with you some exciting developments in China’s transport over the past few years.
First, bicycles have become very popular again. Many people now choose to ride bikes for short distances because it’s eco-friendly and keeps them healthy. The government has built many bike lanes to make cycling safer and more convenient.
Next, high-speed trains, or HSRs, have revolutionized travel in China. They can take you across the country at incredible speeds, making long distances feel much shorter. It’s amazing how quickly you can get from one city to another!
Lastly, electric cars are increasingly common on our roads. They produce no harmful emissions, which is great for the environment. More and more people are switching to electric cars to reduce their carbon footprint.
I’m really proud of these changes in China. They make our lives easier and help protect the planet. I hope you can visit and experience them soon!
Best wishes,
