India’s past is full of rich cultural legacies (遗产). But for many rural people, especially children, a world of art and culture remains distant because of limited resources and inaccessible opportunities. As a result, even the doors to museums — where artifacts, artworks, and historical objects are displayed for public viewing and learning — feel out of their reach. To handle this, the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya (CSMVS) (a museum in Mumbai) started the “Museum on Wheels (MOW). This creative effort aims to break the barrier of the geographical location and economic factors, and bring the wonders of history, art and culture to the remote areas of India.
“People don’t connect with the museum as a place where they can come, spend time, and enjoy the pieces,” says Krutika Mhatre, who leads the MOW project. “The concept of museums, with a bricked room and a gallery of displayed objects, is old and outdated. It has evolved so much. Most people are not much aware of this. We do not have museums in remote areas, like the countryside. So reaching museums is also a task. With the intention of solving the above issues, the idea of the MOW was generated.
Beginning in 2015, the MOW has two buses that have travelled across the country so far. The first-ever exhibition on wheels happened in Mumbai and the theme of the exhibition changes every six months. “Whenever we decide to change the theme, we speak with different school teachers and educators to understand what would stimulate the children more. If they are learning something in the curriculum, we will display the related knowledge on the bus,” says Krutika.
In the past years, the MOW has hosted exhibitions on Indian traditional games, the history, fossils, and various civilizations, which sources its pieces from the CSMVS and some local artists. “When questioned about the MOW, children are always up on their toes to share their experiences. There is light in their eyes. They are able to recollect what they have seen when the topics are taught in the class, which is in itself an evidence of good work,” Krutika says.
56. What problem are rural Indians probably facing now?
A. More lands are used to build museums and the like.
B. Their awareness of protecting cultural relics is weak.
C. The geographical locations limit their tourism income.
D. Some educational resources are hardly available to them.
57. What do Krutika’s words in Paragraph 2 mainly show?
A. The background to the MOW idea.
B. The additional functions of museums.
C. The insufficiency of museums in India.
D. The challenges from the MOW project.
58. What’s special about the MOW?
A. It is usually held in schools.
B. It displays the cultural relics instead of models.
C. It changes its themes based on students’ needs.
D It invites educators to explain the items to kids.
59. What does Krutika think of the MOW?
A. It has achieved its desired goal.
B. It’s a double-edged sword.
C. Its development hits a bottleneck.
D. Its exhibitions are beyond kids’ comprehension.
60. What is probably the author’s purpose in writing the text?
A. To publicize an amazing museum project.
B. To call on people to care for rural kids.
C. To market Indian cultural legacies
D. To make people museum-goers.
56. D 57. A 58. C 59. A 60. A

根据文章第二段““People don’t connect with the museum as a place where they can come, spend time, and enjoy the pieces,” says Krutika Mhatre, who leads the MOW project. 故选A。

Unlike humans, most insects don’t have brain systems to help them keep a sense of direction. “But they do have a system that allows them to tell what’s bright and what’s dark, and lets them know about the sky so that they can fly smoothly,” Yash Sondhi, a scientist says. If they mess that up, they start falling.
Some theories have suggested that insects fly to light because they are blinded by artificial (人工的)light. Sondhi’s team put this question to the test. First, they hung a downward-facing light bulb(电灯泡)and in another test, they turned the light upward. In the first case, insects flew in an endless circle around the bulb. But when the light was pointed up, the insects often stopped flying and fell to the ground.
What if the light is spread over a wide area? The researchers spread a large white sheet(床单)across the treetops and shone light on it. Surprisingly, the insects flew straight through the sheet, flying in the way they would during the day. The team then placed the sheet on the ground and shone light on it, and found all the insects flying over it turned upside down and fell to the ground.
One of the most important things in flying is identifying the upward direction. Flying insects seem to depend on light to do this, keeping the brighter areas overhead and darker settings below them.
“It’s not that insects are just attracted to light. It’s that they are balancing light and dark. But then you get an artificial environment that turns it over,” says Simon Sponberg, a physicist. The use of artificial light has risen quickly over the years, which may keep insects in a tiring circle or send them falling to their death. Along with influencing flying, too much light of this type can affect insects’ ability to find partners, search for food, and protect themselves against other animals.
Losing dark sky areas is a serious problem. Unluckily, the situation is worsened by climate change and land loss. What’s comforting is that humans are changing the game through both personal and collective practices. Rebuilding dark sky areas including parks and communities will be beneficial to animals, plants and humans alike.
61. What mainly allows insects to fly safely?
A. The ability to judge brightness.
B. The cooperation within a group.
C. The good control over their wings.
D. The skill of seeing well in the dark
62. What can we infer from the light tests on insects?
A. Insects can easily lose direction near the ground.
B. The direction of light matters to insects’ flying.
C. Insects fly much better in wide and bright areas
D. The color of light helps insects tell the direction.
63. Which of the following can replace the underlined word “identifying” in Paragraph 4?
A. Forgetting. B. Changing.
C. Recognizing. D. Sharing.
64. What does the author try to stress by mentioning Simon’s words?
A. Light benefits insects’ sense of balance.
B. Insects are getting used to artificial light.
C. Light pollution puts insects’ living at risk.
D. Insects are poor at balancing flying and rest
65. What will the following paragraph probably talk about?
A. The need to save wildlife.
B. Ways to cut energy waste.
C. The dangers of climate change.
D. Efforts to protect the night sky.
A 62. B 63. C 64. C 65. D

根据文章第二段中的“First, they hung a downward-facing light bulb(电灯泡)and in another test, they turned the light upward. In the first case, insects flew in an endless circle around the bulb. But when the light was pointed up, the insects often stopped flying and fell to the ground.(首先,他们挂了一个朝下的灯泡,在另一个测试中,他们把灯转向上方。在第一种情况下,昆虫在灯泡周围无休止地盘旋。但当灯光亮起时,昆虫经常停止飞行,掉到地上。)”描述可知,昆虫在向下照射的光线中飞行时会绕圈,而在向上照射的光线中或光线照射在地面上时,昆虫会停止飞行或倒挂着摔到地上。这些实验结果表明,光的方向对昆虫的飞行很重要。故选B。
【63题详解】
词句猜测题。根据文章第四段中的“One of the most important things in flying is identifying the upward direction.(飞行中最重要的事情之一是____向上的方向。)”以及后文“Flying insects seem to depend on light to do this, keeping the brighter areas overhead and darker settings below them.(飞行的昆虫似乎依赖光线来做这件事,保持头顶是亮区,下面是暗区。)”
根据文章第五段中Simon Sponberg的话“‘It’s not that insects are just attracted to light. It’s that they are balancing light and dark. But then you get an artificial environment that turns it over,’(“昆虫并不是仅仅被光线吸引。它们是在平衡光线和黑暗。但然后你得到了一个会颠倒这一切的人工环境。”)”以及后文“The use of artificial light has risen quickly over the years, which may keep insects in a tiring circle or send them falling to their death.Along with influencing flying, too much light of this type can affect insects’ ability to find partners, search for food, and protect themselves against other animals.(这些年来,人工光的使用迅速增加,这可能使昆虫陷入疲惫的循环,或使它们坠落致死。除了影响飞行,这种类型的光线过多也会影响昆虫寻找伴侣、寻找食物和保护自己免受其他动物伤害的能力。)”可知,作者提到Simon的话是为了强调光污染对昆虫的生存构成了威胁。故选C。
【65题详解】
推理判断题。根据文章最后一段“Rebuilding dark sky areas including parks and communities will be beneficial to animals, plants and humans alike.(重建包括公园和社区在内的黑暗天空区域将对动物、植物和人类都有益。)”

A friend of mine, in response to a conversation we were having about the injustices of life, asked me the question, “Who said life was going to be fair, or that it was even meant to be fair?” Her question was a good one. It reminded me of something I was taught as a youngster: life isn’t fair. It’s a disappointment, but it’s absolutely true. One of the mistakes many of us make is that we feel sorry for ourselves, or for others, thinking that life should be fair, or that someday it will be. It’s not and it won’t be.
One of the nice things about surrendering to the fact that life isn’t fair is that it keeps us from feeling sorry for ourselves by encouraging us to do the very best we can with what we have. We know it’s not “life’s job” to make everything perfect, it’s our own challenge. Surrendering to this fact also keeps us from feeling sorry for others because we are reminded that everyone is dealt differently; everyone has unique strengths and problems in the process of growing up, facing the reality and making decisions; and everyone has those times that they feel unfairly treated.
The fact that life isn’t fair doesn’t mean we shouldn’t do everything in our power to improve our own lives or the world as a whole. To the contrary, it suggests that we should. When we don’t recognize or admit that life isn’t fair, we tend to feel pity for others and for ourselves. Pity, of course, is a self-defeating emotion that does nothing for anyone, except to make everyone feel worse than they already do. When we do recognize that life isn’t fair, however, we feel enthusiastic for others and for ourselves. And enthusiasm is a heartfelt emotion that conveys loving-kindness to everyone it touches.
The next time you find yourself thinking about the injustices of the world, try reminding yourself of this very basic fact. You may be surprised that it can make you out of self-pity and into helpful action.

As the pace of life continues to increase, we are getting more and more stressed and we are fast losing the art of relaxation. Once you are in the habit of rushing through life, being on the go from morning till night, it is hard to slow down. But learning to live with a certain amount of stress is of great significance while relaxation is completely necessary for a healthy mind and body.
Stress is a natural part of everyday life and there is no way to avoid it. In fact, it is not the bad thing as it is often supposed to be. A certain amount of stress is vital to provide motivation and give purpose to life. It is only when the stress gets out of control that it can lead to poor performance and ill health.
The amount of stress a person can withstand depends very much on the individual. Some people are not afraid of stress, and such characters are obviously prime material for managerial responsibilities. Others lose heart at the first sight of unusual difficulties.
When exposed to stress, in whatever form, we react both chemically and physically. In fact, we make choice between “flight” and “fight” and in more primitive days, the choices made the difference between life or death. The crises(危机) we meet today are unlikely to be so extreme. But however little the stress, it involves the same response. It is when such a reaction lasts long, through continued exposure to stress, that health becomes endangered. Since serious condition as high blood pressure and heart disease have formed links with stress.
Since we can’t remove stress from our lives (it would be unwise to do so even if we could), we need to find ways to deal with it to keep our mind and body healthy.

Others lose heart at the first sight of unusual difficulties.(有些人不怕压力,这样的性格显然是管理职责岗位的主要条件。
根据第三段中“Some people are not afraid of stress, and such characters are obviously prime material for managerial responsibilities. (有些人不怕压力,这样的性格显然是管理职责岗位的主要条件。)”可知,一个好的管理者最重要的品质是不惧怕压力。故答案为Not fear stress。
根据第四段中“It is when such a reaction lasts long, through continued exposure to stress, that health becomes endangered. (只有当这种反应持续时间长,持续暴露在压力之下时,健康才会受到威胁。)”可知,当持续暴露在压力之下时,健康会受到威胁。故答案为Health becomes endangered。
【85题详解】
考查推理判断。根据最后一段中“Since we can’t remove stress from our lives (it would be unwise to do so even if we could), we need to find ways to deal with it to keep our mind and body healthy.(既然我们无法将压力从我们的生活中消除(即使我们可以这样做,这也是不明智的),我们需要找到方法来处理它,以保持我们的身心健康。)” The right attitude is to deal with stress and because it can cause serious physical diseases. Dealing with it wisely can help us keep our mind and body healthy。

Thank you for listening!
Dear friends,
I’m Li Jin, a student from Chen Guang High School. Today, it is my great privilege to be here to deliver my speech. My topic is Feeling Changes Around, Telling Stories of China Aloud.
What I want to mention first is that more and more people, are becoming increasingly aware of the importance of environmental protection, and they go all out to participate in the campaign of garbage sorting, making the best of the recyclables, avoiding much waste as well as reducing garbage pollution to some extent. What’s more, it is obvious that traditional Chinese culture has gained its popularity home and abroad. We can witness many people are learning Chinese poems, Chinese painting and Chinese history and so on, which will definitely promote the development of traditional Chinese culture in the long run.
As far as I can see, our society as well as our life will surely change for the better. Our culture will definitely attract more foreigners to come to China.
I sincerely hope everyone present can feel the changes around and tell the stories of China a lot by yourself just as I’m doing here.
Thank you for your listening.

In the past years the MOW has hosted exhibitions on Indian traditional games, the history, fossils, and various civilizations, which sources its pieces from the CSMVS and some local artists.
D. It invites educators to explain the items to kids.

C Insects fly much better in wide and bright areas

66. The author thought of his friend’s question as a good one because ________.
A. it made him recall something during his childhood
B. he also wanted to know who held such an opinion
C. he learned something from the question as a youngster
D. like his friend, he also thought life was unfair
67. Surrendering to the fact that life isn’t fair will ________.
A. keep us from making everything perfect B. make us face unfair treatment bravely
C. keep us from doing everything in our power D. make us know it’s our duty to perfect things
68. The second paragraph of the passage mainly tells us that ________.
A. we should not feel sorry for everything B. we should not surrender to the life
C. it’s nice to accept the injustice of life D. it’s nice to surrender to the life
69. In the last paragraph, “this very basic fact” refers to the fact that ________.
A. compassion is heartfelt emotion B. pity is a self-defeating emotion
C. you should not pity for others D. life isn’t and won’t be fair
70. According to the author, when recognizing life injustice, you may ________.
A. feel pity to other people B. do nothing to improve our life
C. take measures to solve life problem D. receive enthusiasm from others
