Clothing Colours in Different Cultures and Countries
In Western Culture
• Preferred colours: Black is considered elegant and is commonly(常常) worn for formal occasions.
• Taboo colours: Wearing white to a wedding as a guest is often considered inappropriate(不恰当) as it is usually reserved for the bride(新娘). If a guest wears a white dress to a wedding, it might overshadow the bride and be seen as a breach of etiquette(失礼行为). In some cases, wearing all black to a wedding might also be seen as too somber(沮丧、忧郁).
