Enjoy a video and think: What is a family? 2. What would you ask your parents about for advice？ (Purpose: To have students get to know the background information about family and to prepare students for reading.) Activity 2. Prediction Read the title and look at the picture on Page34 and predict what will be talked. (Purpose: To help students learn to predict the main content of the text.) Activity 3. While-reading 1. Go though the passage quickly and judge the text type and find out: What conflict does the son have with his father? (The son...,while the father.... ) A play is a story performed on a stage. It has a plot, settings, characters and actions as well as dialogue between characters. (Purpose: To develop students’ fast reading skill to understand the conflict between the son and the father,and summarize the text type.) 2.
