1. Lead-in(导入)
T: Look at this picture. What festival is it?(展示一张春节的图片)
Ss: Chinese New Year.

2. Learn new words(学习新单词)
(1)Show pictures of “Chinese New Year”“red”“lucky money”“firecracker” one by one.
T: What's this? It's Chinese New Year. / It's red. / It's lucky money. / It's a firecracker.
Ss: Repeat the words after the teacher.
(2)Practice the words.
Read the words in groups.
Play a game “What's missing?”. Remove one picture and ask students to guess what's missing.

3. Learn new sentences(学习新句型)
(1)Show pictures of people celebrating Chinese New Year and say “Happy Chinese New Year!”

(2)Show pictures of children with lucky money and say “I have lucky money.”
T: What am I saying?
Ss: I have lucky money.
(3)Practice the sentences.
Pair work. Students work in pairs and practice saying “Happy Chinese New Year!” and “I have lucky money.” to each other.
Group work. Students work in groups and act out a scene of celebrating Chinese New Year, using the new sentences.

三、Practice(练习)
1. Listen and point(听一听,指一指)
Play the recording of the new words. Students listen and point to the corresponding pictures on the blackboard.

2. Let's play(一起玩)
Play a game “Pass the lucky money”. Students sit in a circle. One student starts by passing a “lucky money” (a red envelope or a piece of paper). When the music stops, the student holding the “lucky money” says “I have lucky money.” and then everyone says “Happy Chinese New Year!”

3. Act it out(表演)
Ask several students to come to the front and act out a dialogue about celebrating Chinese New Year.
