抓双线主要通过找关键词,如本文通过梳理时间关键词“begins around 9 a.m., During the hour-long lunchtime, After school”,及情感关键词“enjoyable, challenging, helpful, encouragement, missed, attracted me most, great fun, glad”等可明确,本文的文脉是作者在国外作交换生时的日常生活、学习情况。
1.I stayed with a lovely host family and went to school with their son, Daniel.

2.①In the beginning, however, it was still tough for me to remember everyone's name!
②I enjoyed most of the classes, but some of them were quite challenging.
3.There were lots of options including bread and butter, chicken pie and puddings, but I still missed my mum's cooking!
此外,常用来表示举例说明的词还有such as, for example, namely, that is ...
②crucial“重要的;重大的”→______________________
③plentiful“丰富的;充裕的”→__________________
④pursue“追求;寻找”→________________
⑤view“观点”→_____________________
happy, glad, delighted, joyful, pleased, cheerful等
universal

opinion, standpoint
1.After school, there were many clubs to join. The one that attracted me most was the Rugby Club.
2.Joining clubs was a great way to meet British students and make friends with them.
①I have many books and __________________ (我最喜欢的一本) is about animals.
②_________________________________ (沿古老的丝绸之路旅行) is an interesting and rewarding (有益的) experience.

However, learning in English was a great challenge for me. There were a lot of difficult English words, especially in Geography and Biology. Class discussion is very important in the UK, but I could not make a great contribution because sometimes I wasn't able to express myself clearly in English.

A
Haley Curfman, 25, of Blackwell, Oklahoma, is a teacher at Blackwell Public School and last year she bought a plain (朴素的) white dress, which she set up a station in her classroom for her students to decorate, encouraging them to go and draw on the dress whenever they had free time.
After the kids had finished the design, she then surprised them all by wearing the dress to class, sharing pictures of herself in it online in a post that has been shared over 200, 000 times.
For teachers planning to do something similar for their own students, Haley said that she bought the dress online for less than $20 about six months ago and pre-washed the dress before she started the project. She said, “It takes from two weeks to a month to complete as we just work on it here and there when time allows. You'd better give the students enough time so they don't have to hurry.”
“Teachers have been sharing their dresses, T-shirts and so on with me that they've been creating with the same idea. It is amazing, and I love the fact that you are sharing them with me! Thank you all so much for your kindness and support,” she wrote online.

Starting a new term always feels a little bit like a beginning of a new year. Last year, as a fresher, I felt a little worried at the beginning of each term. That's why, this year, I want to start the term with a positive (积极的) mind. I have collected some ways that can really help improve my confidence.
It has been found that if we want to succeed, we should break our new plan into smaller tasks. It sounds easy, but how do we start? It is a good idea to write down things you will do every evening. Start with the most important task and then focus on smaller tasks that you are sure you will be able to complete. If you are not a fan of a paper to-do list, there are so many fun apps. Sticking to the plan will stop you from doing everything at the last minute.
It is also very important to stay active. Set a goal of 10, 000 steps a day or go for a run with a friend. Honestly, you don't even need to go to a gym, because there are different kinds of exercises online. You can even stretch (伸展) for 15 minutes every day. Just choose whatever works for you. Exercise can improve our ability to sleep, reduce stress (压力) and make us healthy.
Before starting the term, think of your goals — not only those towards which you are working, but also those that you've already managed to achieve. Don't feel too anxious, notice your progress and always remember to take a rest. Keep in mind that everything takes time. Take a 10-minute rest between lessons, which can be a conversation with a friend, checking the news, or taking a walk. In short, do something for yourself.

As the years go by in my retirement from classroom teaching, I am still reminded of important issues surrounding young children. One of these issues is the concern that many parents have about teaching their children good study habits during those delicate years when homework becomes part of the daily routine.
At my school, homework increased with the developmental age of the children. In kindergarten, homework was usually reading aloud a book which the parent was to read with the child. In the first grade, the homework increased to perhaps 10 minutes of work that was connected to the classroom curriculum. By the second grade, I gave the children four nights of homework in reading, math and language arts, all of which should have taken about 15 minutes to complete.
Since one of the biggest lessons to be learned by young children is self-reliance and independence, I made sure to give clear instructions before the children took the work home.I expected them to go home, have a snack and then get their work done before dinnertime. After dinner, the children were too tired, and therefore the quality of the homework suffered.
Homework to be done on the computer should be done in a public place if the children were allowed to use the web, because that needs to be monitored for safety reasons.
If parents are constantly including themselves in the homework process, they are basically saying to the child that he or she is not able to do it by himself or herself. It is teachers' responsibility to track and correct the child's work, not the parents'.That is how children learn — by seeing their mistakes and correcting them! As parents, we need to support and guide our children, but we have already done the work! Now it is their turn!
