教学实施过程:
1. Have students work in pairs and talk about how they get news every day.
I mainly watch the news on TV during dinner every day. I do not have much time for
reading news online or in newspapers. I read newspapers in the school newspaper gallery
during the breaks between classes. I read news stories on my mobile phone. There are
always a lot of news stories, so I often read just the headlines, except the ones that I’m
particularly interested in.
2. Have students read the article again and answer the two questions on page 8.
1) How has online news media developed over time?
With access to the Internet, in the mid-1990s, newspapers first published their own
digital editions on the Internet, followed by setting up their own online news platforms.
Around the end of 1999, news websites without print editions sprang up. Nowadays in the
smartphone era, online news reports are much easier to update, and with news apps, they
are accessible any time at any place. Official news outlets have their own social media
accounts too.
2) What information can you get from the chart?
Over the past 15 years, online media has become increasingly popular, while the number

Two advantages are mentioned in the interview. First, online news media provides
instantly updated news. Second, it makes it possible for people to share ideas or news
information right away.
(2) What are the advantages of print news media?
Print news media is often thought to be more trustworthy with more in-depth analysis.
Besides, holding a physical newspaper may give some people a feeling of enjoyment.
