He did his routine with such a quiet determination that he made it all look very easy. When I wanted to quit, I watched him push himself to his own limits, and I found myself motivated to work hard. Several weeks ago, I was watching him do chin-ups (引体向上) effortlessly. I asked him if I could try a chin-up. I had never tried before. He eagerly stepped aside and encouraged me to step up to the bar. I pulled myself up without thinking ... once ... then twice. I had no strength left. I told him that was all I had, so he stepped up behind me and pushed me up for a third and a fourth pull. It felt so good and I smiled from ear to ear. The next day when I was done with my workout, I asked him to spot me again. Again, I did two. Again on day three and so on. I thought it was pitiful that I could only do two, but he said he was impressed with my chin-ups, explaining that most people couldn't do them at all. He further told me that if I practiced every day, I would be doing five or six in no time. I just jumped in and gave it a try. A few months had passed since that memorable day at the gym. I continued to work on my chinups, slowly but steadily. With each passing week, I could feel my strength increasing and my determination growing. One day, as I approached the chin-up bar, my trainer noticed the determination in my eyes. He smiled and said, “You know, you've come a long way in such a short time. I believe it's time to set a new goal for yourself.” I asked, “What do you have in mind?” He replied, “How about aiming for ten consecutive (连续不断的) chin-ups? I have no doubt that you can achieve it with your insistence.” I was both excited and nervous about this new challenge. Finally, one morning, it happened. 关键信息 when several weeks ago what I joined in a gym, did chin-ups, and was suggested by the trainer to set a new goal: ten consecutive chin-ups. who I(开始做引体向上锻炼,一开始做几个,后面慢但稳定) ①I was watching the trainer do chin-ups effortlessly and asked him if I could try. ②I pulled myself up without thinking ... once ... then twice. ③I had no strength left. ④I continued to work on my chin-ups, slowly but steadily. ⑤I could feel my strength increasing and my determination growing. The trainer(鼓励作者,给作者设定新目标) ①He eagerly stepped aside and encouraged me to step up to the bar. ②He stepped__up__behind__me and pushed me up for a third and a fourth pull. ③He was__impressed__with my chin-ups, explaining that most people couldn't do them at all. ④He further told me that if I practiced__every__day,__I would be doing five or six in no time. ⑤He said, “How about aiming for ten__consecutive chin-ups?” 例如:“Ten chin-ups seemed like a significant leap from where I had started, but the belief my trainer had in me fueled my determination.”。 2. 例如:“It was challenging, but I remembered the lesson that I had learned.”“I pulled myself up to the bar and completed ten consecutive chip-ups.”。 3. I was both excited and nervous about this new challenge. Ten chin-ups seemed like a significant leap from where I had started, but the belief my trainer had in me fueled my determination. I accepted the challenge and got to work. Every morning, I pushed myself harder than before. The numbers slowly climbed: three, four, five and then seven chin-ups. It was challenging, but I remembered the lesson that I had learned. The most difficult tasks can be achieved through consistent effort and belief in oneself. Finally, one morning, it happened. I pulled myself up to the bar and completed ten consecutive chin-ups. I couldn't contain my excitement and joy. I felt a profound sense of accomplishment. I achieved my goal through persistence. I had made it a reality. As I continue my fitness journey, I carry this lesson with me: No matter how daunting the obstacle may seem, the belief and persistence can help me overcome it. It's not just about physical strength but also about mental fortitude and the power of setting and achieving goals. (2024 ·新疆乌鲁木齐市第十一中学高一期末)I had just a very wonderful day. Although all my days were always wonderful to me, that day was completely different. There was a bulletin (公告) board saying that they would need to find volleyball players for the girls and I was so happy! I have been loving playing volleyball since my mother taught me how to play. I was so excited that I couldn't wait to play! Then I read more what was on that bulletin board, which said that here would be an audition after three weeks! “Three weeks?” I thought about it. I did know how to play volleyball but I was not much of an expert in doing it but I still wanted to try. After that I was determined to practice volleyball every day. I practiced hard again and again each day and never got tired of doing the same practice through all the days, and finally, the day came. I was so prepared for this and hurried to the gym to the audition. When I had reached the gym, I was surprised to see that 12 or 14 girls were lining up and I guessed I was the last one to arrive. Then our audition began. Some of the girls failed to pass the audition and some passed. There was only one position left to complete the 6 girls to join the volleyball team and suddenly I felt nervous because the person in front of me was going to take the serve (发球). Then the girl hit the ball and then the ball didn't pass over the net! The girl hit her forehead and left, leaving me standing in the middle of the court. Then the coach spoke, “Okay, you serve.” She handed me the ball and I caught it with my hands. As the ball was in my hands, my hands were suddenly sweating and so was I! I then suddenly became nervous about this. I came to a stop, taking a deep breath and began. [精彩范文] I then suddenly became nervous about this. “Maybe I should back off,” I told myself. And my legs began to shake. My mind went blank. For a moment I wanted to give up, but then it occurred to me that all of these practices that I'd done were all for the audition and I don't want to be disappointed. Suddenly confidence returned to me. I practiced this for today; I was determined to do this, so I had to do this with all my fighting spirit! I had the ability to pass the audition. Then I stared at the volleyball in my hands and was ready to throw it out. I came to a stop, taking a deep breath and began. I only glanced at the net, swung my hand and hit the ball and it ... and it ... and it ... Yes! And it passed over the net! My coach stood up clapping her hands. All the people in the gym cheered. I felt very proud and jumped with joy. At that moment I knew my practice for three weeks did pay off. And from it I know if you have devoted yourself to something and persist in it, you will get the reward. 1.I was so excited that I couldn't wait to play! 亮点:①so ... that ... 以至于……”,that引导结果状语从句;②can't/couldn't wait to do sth意为“迫不及待做某事”。 2.When I had reached the gym, I was surprised to see that 12 or 14 girls were lining up and I guessed I was the last one to arrive. 的时候”;②be surprised to do sth意为“惊讶/惊喜地做某事”;③that引导宾语从句;④I was ... to arrive为省略了that的宾语从句;⑤to arrive为动词不定式作后置定语,常用于有最高级/序数词修饰的名词后。
