录音原文
Text 1
W: Good morning. Would you like to hear today’s
special? It’s a pancake plate.
M: No, thanks. I’d like the fruit plate without strawberry.
Text 2
M: I’m going to the beach this Sunday. Would you like
to come?
W: Oh, Sunday’s a bit of a problem. Some of my friends
are coming for dinner at my place. What about
Saturday?
Text 3
M: The lecture starts at 8:00.
W: Don’t rush. We still have fifteen minutes to go.
3. What time is it now?
A. 7:45. B. 8:00. C. 8:15.
【答案】A
【分析】推理判断题。男士说这个演讲在8点开始,女士说别着急,
我们还有 15 分钟的时间。由此可知现在的时间是 7:45,故选
A 项。

Text 4
M: I won’t take it. Your price is higher than I’ve seen for
any other similar product.
W: But I think you should take the quality into
consideration. If you order a large enough quantity,
we can offer a slight discount.
Text 5
W: Excuse me, I’m looking for Mr. Tang.
M: Oh, he is not on this floor. He is on the fourth floor.
Go down the stairs and turn left.
Text 6
W: Charlie, how’s your business going?
M: fEverything seems to be getting worse. I really don’t
know what to do with it.
W: Nothing is plain sailing. You should never give up.
M: But what should I do?
W: gI think you should make a thorough market investi-
gation now.
M: gIt’s a thoughtful suggestion. I’ll try my best to do it.
W: Life is not all roses, and I believe you’ll pull this
through.
Text 7
M: This is Officer Belford. You reported a break-in
just now?
W: Yes, I did.
M: I’ll need a little more information about it. What time
did it happen?
W: It must have been sometime between 12:00 and
1:30 p.m. hbecause I was at home until almost 12:00
and I just got back at 1:30.
M: What did they get?
W: Well, what I know is some jewelry and the television.
that cover a lot of materials and often have several
hundred students; these classes require the
experience of a professor. rBut for courses that are
more for fun, like photography and classes about
pop culture, as well as smaller classes that are more
specialized, the university doesn’t want to waste
the valuable time of a professor. Because graduate
school is much more expensive than regular college,
graduate students often pay their way through school
by teaching these types of classes. In other words,
they do earn some money for their work, sbut it’s
not really the main reason to do it. It gives them
experience leading a classroom. Some parents look
down on universities that use graduate students to
teach the most important courses across many fields.
Considering how much school fees continue to rise
each year, these feelings are understandable. But the
reality is that all large schools do this; it’s part of a
public university education. And some studies have
suggested that students actually learn better when
they’re taught by graduate students.

M: By the way, where is your husband?
W: He’s on a trip to Canada. And I haven’t told him
about the robbery.
M: I see. Where did you put your jewelry?
W: I put it in the refrigerator. iBut all my good jewelry
is in the safe box in the bank.
Text 8
M: jWelcome to North Park pool center! The kid’s pool
is to the right of reception here.
W: Thanks. We’re good swimmers. We’ll go to the
regular pool.
M: The regular pool is only open to people 12 years old
and over.
W: lI’m 13 and my brother here is 14. My sister will be
12 in just two months. Can you let us in?
M: There are no exceptions. You and your brother may
swim in the regular pool, but your sister will have to
go to the kid’s pool.
W: Oh, no!
M: There is an excellent swimming teacher there for
safety and there are many other kids she can swim
with. kBut keep in mind that with our new July
hours, the kid’s pool closes at 6:00 p.m.
W: Last month, we all played in that pool until 7:30.
M: That was probably on June 21. We have a special
activity day with different hours to celebrate the first
day of summer.
W: lWell, the whole point of coming here was to have
fun all together. If the kid’s pool is closing soon,
we’ll just come back tomorrow.
Text 9
M: Hi, Lisa! I’m trying to get organized for my move
into the dorm next week. mDo you have some time to
spare? I’d love to hear your words of wisdom about
dorm living, and what I need to bring to feel at home
in the residence.
W: Sure thing, John! nDorm living is very important!
And it’s even better if you’re surrounded with all the
right stuff. So, what do you want to know?
M: Let’s start with clothing. What do most of the
students wear? Is the campus pretty casual, or are
there opportunities to dress up on occasion?
W: Well, this is what worked for me last year. I brought
mostly casual. You know, jeans, T-shirts and shorts.
And one or two nice things in case there was a fancy
event on campus.
M: OK, sounds good. Mostly casual... jeans, T-shirts and
shorts and one or two nicer things.
W: Remember to bring an iron. There is usually one in
each laundry room, but they don’t usually work well.
M: Hmmm. oI’ve never ironed anything in my life. My
mom always did that. I guess it’s time I learned,
though.
W: It sure is! pThe next thing I would look at is bedding.
The residence provides bedding, but it is not very
nice.
Text 10 (第 20 题为主旨要义题)
W: We had a heavenly day yesterday. rCousin John is
home from Oxford for a short holiday, so he took
Margaret and Andrew and me in Uncle Charles’ car
to Stratford-on-Avon, the place where Shakespeare
was born and died. It was a very suitable day, for
qyesterday was April 23rd. That’s St. George’s Day
— the Saint of England — and that is the day on
which Shakespeare was born, and also the day on
which he died.
Stratford is a very interesting town, right in the
center of England. You can’t get very far from the
sea anywhere in England, but Stratford is about
the farthest point you can get from it. It’s nice to
think that Shakespeare was born right in the heart
of England and in the midst of the country that is so
typically English. There are no mountains or deep
valleys near Stratford. There’s nothing of the great
scenery that we have round the Cairngorms, but
there are beautiful woods, green fields and a quiet
gentle river — the winding Avon — and lovely
houses, black and white with roofs of dried straw.
Stratford is quite a busy town, sespecially on market
day. When the farmers from the countryside round
Stratford come to buy or sell cows or pigs or sheep.
At least so John told me, and he knows Stratford
well.
