“for+一段时间”表示某一动作或状态持续了一段时间，故与其连用的谓语动词也要是延续性的。对“for+一段时间”提问时用 how long“多长时间”。如:

We need to sleep for eight hours every day. 我们每天需要8个小时的睡眠。

—How long do you study English? 你学英语多长时间了?

—I study English for ten years. 我学英语10年了。

“介词in+一段时间”表示“(从现在算起的)一段时间之后”，多用于一般将来时态。如:

He will be back in two hours. 他将在两个小时后回来。

一、             行为动词一般现在时的用法

用法	例句
1. 经常性、习惯性的动作	We often have lunch at12:00. 我们经常在十二点吃午饭。
2. 能力、特征等	Nick plays basketball very well. 尼克篮球打得非常好。
3. 不受时限的客观事实	The sun rises in the east. 太阳从东方升起。

一般现在时的用法：

学习一般现在时，基本用法要熟悉。

表示动作常发生，特征性格和能力。

存在状态和习惯，客观事实与真理。

如果主语是三单，谓语就要变一变。

二、行为动词的分类及第三人称单数的变化规则

1. 行为动词的分类

分类	例句
当主语是第一、二人称和第三人称复数时，谓语动词使用其原形	I like pears. 我喜欢梨。 My parents like fishing. 我的父母喜欢钓鱼。
当主语是第三人称单数时，谓语动词使用其第三人称单数形式	Bruce likes football. 布鲁斯喜欢足球。 Tom does his homework at home. 汤姆在家里做他的家庭作业。

2. 行为动词第三人称单数的变化规则

规则	举例	注意
大多数动词后加-s	sell→sells like→likes	在 清 辅 音 后的-s 读/s/; 浊辅音或元音后的-s读/z/
以s、x、ch、sh结尾的动词后加-es	guess→guesses fix→fixes watch→watches wash→washes	es读/ɪz/
以辅音字母 + y 结尾的动词，变 y 为 i, 再加-es	carry→carries	-es读/z/, 动词以元音字母+y结尾，不适用此规则, 如: pay→pays
以辅音字母 +o 结尾的动词后加-es	do→does go→goes	-es读/z/
特殊变化	have→has

三、行为动词一般现在时的否定句和一般疑问句

注意	在否定句和疑问句中行为动词一律用其原形
