She is Bai Hua, a skilled rural veterinarian(兽医)in Guyuan, Ningxia Hui autonomous region. The 28-year-old is both a vet and an internet celebrity who has 3 million followers on multiple video sharing and streaming platforms. In her short videos, Bai can be seen in dirty cowsheds(牛舍), but she remains elegant and fashionable while calmly taking care of sick cattle and giving injections(注射)."I want to help more young people to know that veterinarians can also dress in a clean and stylish manner every day, and that the work can be interesting. This will encourage more young people to join me,"she said. Despite having been splashed(溅)in the face with cow manure, and being kicked by cows multiple times, Bai has never thought of changing careers. Like many others in her hometown, Bai's family made a living by raising cows. However, due to the lack of professional breeding(养殖)techniques and veterinarians, in 2012, seven cows owned by Bai's family died of illness, causing a huge financial loss. My father looked so sad. If there was someone able to help us, our cattle could have been saved. At that moment, I decided to be a veterinarian," she said. Bai applied for a veterinary program at a vocational school(职业学校). Among the 13 female classmates, she was the only one who pursued a career as a veterinarian after graduation. Initially, Bai was frequently questioned about her veterinary skills due to her age and non-traditional outfit. But years of dedication and diligence(勤奋)helped her acquire valuable experience and build a good reputation. Now, all three of her WeChat accounts are filled with farmers from all over the country. Her veterinary clinic is often crowded with livestock(家禽) farmers who drive a long way to seek treatment for their cattle and sheep. Riding on the wave of short videos, Bai has become famous, which she enjoys. But what makes her happiest is that more and more young people are asking her online about how to become a good veterinarian. Bai still strives for(追求)perfection and often spends tens of thousands of yuan on further study." I must continue to learn. I can't let my reputation exceed my ability,"she said. 词数 444 建议阅读时间6分钟 原创阅读理解题目 1. What is Bai Hua's primary profession? A. Farmer B. Internet celebrity C. Veterinarian D. Teacher 2.
