教学目标
在本节课学习结束时,学生能够:
1. 理解文本内容,厘清人物关系,掌握戏剧冲突类型,根据不同类型的戏剧冲突预测故事的走向及后续发展。
2. 运用阅读语篇所学到的内容、戏剧冲突及故事发展线索进行适当口头续写及读后续写。
3.初步了解当今社会机器人技术的发展现状,能对机器人的未来发展前景进行自己的批判性思考。
教学内容
教学重点:
1. 分析理解戏剧冲突,运用戏剧冲突类型分析预测文本走向并进行续写。
2. 分析理解故事发展的明线和暗线,将其运用到实际写作当中。
教学难点:
1. 对戏剧冲突类型、故事发展线索的实操运用。
2. 引导学生基于文本对机器人技术的发展进行独立思考,建立正确的技术发展观。
教学过程
Warming-up
1.T introduces the aims of the lesson.
2.T guides Ss to appreciate the opening page.
3.T shows Ss some pictures and a video clip.
Step1: Read and Find (Paragraphs1-4)
1.T guides Ss to interpret the title “ Satisfaction Guaranteed”:1)Whose satisfaction? 2)Is it guaranteed? 3)What does “adapted” mean?
2.T asks Ss to read paragraphs1-4 and find out who the characters are: Larry Belmont, Claire, Tony, Gladys Claffern.
3.T invites Ss to answer the questions.
Step2 Read and Predict/Speak
1.T asks Ss to think about what would happen next. Then T shows Ss what is “Conflict” and types of conflicts.
2.Ss read paragraphs1-4 again and find out the specific conflicts based on the types of conflicts.
3..Ss have a discussion, thinking of a continuation to deal with one of the conflicts(Claire vs Tony), then share it with the rest of the class.
Step3: Read and Compare (Paragraphs 5-9)
1.Ss read paragraphs5-9, filling in the table and comparing the continuation of the text with theirs, and try to find some similarities: conflicts and conflicts to be solved.
2.Ss think of the questions to be solved: 1) Why did Claire feel being envied? 2)Why did Claire cry all night?
Step4: Read and Discover
T guides Ss to find out the two threads running through a narrative:1) Claire’s feelings towards Tony changed as the story developed. 2) A robot experiment
Step5: Read and Write
1.T asks students to predict what would happen next according to the two threads and types of conflicts.
2. Ss discuss in groups and draw a mind map of the continuation.
Homework: Ss finish the continuation on paper.
Step6: Review Review what we learned in this class.
