Active Learning
Most people _______(认为,假定) ____the human brain is set on “________(自动的,无意识的)”—that means it learns all ____ itself. But this isn’t always true. We need to train( ) ourselves to be better learners—to ______________________(积极参与) the learning process( ) and to _________(仔细思考) _____ we _________(learn). These kinds of learning behaviours _________(call) “active learning”. I ___________(建议做) five things to ________________(积极主动) your learning.
1 Listen to the outer voice
There _____ two kinds of voices: the inner voice and the _____(外部的) voice. Your inner voice expresses your personal opinions, while( ) the outer voice tells you about opinions from _____ you hear or read. Although your inner voice can be useful, it can also ___________
______(挡路,妨碍) of learning. _____ you keep ______too much __________(关注) it, you __________(冒险错过) important information. Instead, active learners are _________(思想开明的,愿意考虑不同意见的) and focus on _____ the speaker / writer is saying, not on _____ their brain is saying in the background. _________________(通过这种方式), they are in a better position _________________(做决策).
2 Argue with your inner voice
_____ you find your inner voice difficult ___________(control), you can _________(争吵) it _____ most active learners do. _____your inner voice tells you a speaker / writer is wrong, think about _____ the speaker / writer may be right. Be _________(灵活的,可变通的) in your opinions and you might _________________(最后同意) the speaker / writer after all. _____(如果没有), at least you have “_________(listen) to” another point of view( ).
