Ask and answer: ① In your opinion, what kind of books are great? ② What great books have you read? Step 2 Reading 1. Read and predict: What may be written in the book review? 2. Read and match the main idea with each paragraph. 3. Read Paragraph 1 and complete the table. 4. Read Paragraph 2: ① Find the main characters and the relationships between them. ② Answer: What do you think of Tom?. 5. Read Paragraph 3: ① Answer: What’s the writer’s favourite part? ② Circle the words that describe people’s feelings. ③ Answer: If you were Tom, what would you say to your family after you see them in the funeral? 6. Read Paragraph 4 and answer: ① How popular is the book? ② Why is it popular? 7. Read the whole passage and answer: After reading the book review, are you interested in The Adventures of Tom Sawyer? Why or why not? Step 3 Sharing Choose one of your favourite books and share it with us. It must include the writer, main characters, your favourite part, reasons why you like it. Step 4 Homework 1.
