哲理故事 ★★★★☆ 约 290 10min / 10
One dayꎬ a strong woodcutter(伐木工) found a new job at a timber(木材) company. Because
he was 1 the pay and the workꎬ the man decided to work as hard as he could.
His boss gave him an axe(斧子) and told him 2 he should work by showing him around.
On his first dayꎬ the woodcutter cut down 18 trees. “Amazing! Good for you!” his boss said. “Keep
going!” After hearing his bosss wordsꎬ the woodcutter decided to work even harder the next dayꎬ but
to his surpriseꎬ he could only cut down 15 trees. On the third dayꎬ 3 he did his bestꎬ he finally
brought 4 trees back. Day after dayꎬ the man could do nothing but cut down fewer and fewer trees.
“ I must be losing my 5 ꎬ” the woodcutter thought. He went to his boss and said that he
could not understand what was going on.
“When was the 6 time you sharpened(磨) your axe?” his boss asked.
“Sharpen? I 7 sharpen my axe. I am always busy trying to cut down trees.”
Our lives are like that. We sometimes get so busy that we dont take time to sharpen our “axe” .
In todays worldꎬ it seems that everyone is busier than everꎬ but also 8 .
Why is this? There is 9 wrong with activity and hard work. Maybe it is because we forget
how to stay “sharp(锋利)” . We spend little time 10 so we lose our efficiency(效率) . Then we
ourselves become more upset and worried.
What about you? Have you sharpened your axe today?
