Help students perform a play well. 教学过程 Step 1 Creating the situation The teacher shows a picture where five playwrights and one actor are wanted in the drama club of our school. Moreover, the requirements are emphasized: the playwrights should be good at writing the play and the actor should be skillful at acting. 【设计意图】教师创设情景，我们学校的话剧社招聘编剧和演员，并提出这两个职位的具体要求：编剧：擅长写剧本；演员：演技好。通过创设情景，使学生将枯燥教学内容与生活实际联系起来，激发学生学习本课的兴趣。 Step 2 Preparing for the post 1.T:Explain the elements of a play: setting, characters, plot and theme. Setting: when and where the play is set Character: a person or sometimes even an animal appearing in the play Plot: the things that happen in the play and the ways in which those incidents are connected Theme: the controlling idea or central insight that the author of the play is trying to get across 2.Let students watch the short video of Ling Lear and find the four elements of it. Four elements of King Lear Setting In the court of King Lear Characters King Lear, Goneril, Regan, Cordelia, Kent Plot King Lear decided to divide his kingdom according to his daughters’love. Goneril and Regan lied to King Lear and told him they loved him the most. Cordelia told her true feelings about King Lear. Kent tried to persuade King Lear to forgive Cordelia. Theme Cordelia had a deep love for King Lear, and Kent was loyal to King Lear.
