Background information
Claude Monet (1840-1926)
Claude Monet was a French painter, a founder of French Impressionist painting. Monet's method involved painting the same scene many times in order to capture the changing of light and the passing of the seasons.
Zhang Daqian (1899-1983)
Zhang Daqian was a Chinese painter and is regarded as one of the most gifted masters of the 20th century. Originally a guohua painter, he also became renowned as a modern impressionist and expressionist painter by the 1960s.
William Wordsworth (1770-1850)
William Wordsworth was an English Romantic poet who, along with Samuel Taylor Coleridge, helped launch the Romantic Age in English literature with their joint publication Lyrical Ballads (1798).
