Dear Kate,
I have some problems with my mom that I hope you can help me with.
The main problem is that my mom keeps pressing me to study all the time. I do as she says, but she is never satisfied with my grades. Why can’t she leave me alone? I want to take a break once in a while. I want to go out with my friends.
I understand that everything she does is for me. But I wish she could be more flexible so that I can make my own decision.
Could you please give me some advice?
Yours,
Haley

For example, you can explain why you want to go out with your friends and how it helps you. Why not make a deal that you are both satisfied with?

Third, it might be a good idea for you to put yourself in your mother’s shoes and try to understand what she does. I know it isn’t easy, but you must be patient. When your mother keeps pressing you to study all the time, think about the reason why she does so. When I was your age, I tho
