Have students read the PPT slides in part A on page 50 and answer the following questions. (1) What are the similarities and differences between novels and short stories? Novels and short stories are both literature types that have characters and events. Novels are long and detailed, while short stories are short in length and usually have a twist in the end. (2) What are the similarities and differences between autobiographies and biographies? Autobiographies and biographies both tell the life story of a person. Autobiographies are written by the author about his or her own life, whereas biographies are written by the author who tells the story of someone else’s life. 2. Have students talk about what types of books they like best and why. 3. Have students introduce one book they have read recently and talk about what kind of book it is and why they like it. 4. Have students answer the following questions before watching the video. (1) Where do you usually read books?
