One morning I spotted a lost lamb when I was in the top field, near where a motorway cuts through my land. The lamb had become separated from its mother,so I jumped out of the tractor to tend to it while Don stayed in his seat. Lamb and mother reunited,I turned back to the tractor only to see it move suddenly away from me.This was so unexpected because I had put the handbrake on when I jumped out.Obviously Don had somehow made the vehicle move. My heart froze in my chest as I saw the tractor heading towards the motorway.I ran desperately but failed to catch up.It crashed through a wooden fence and disappeared. The last thing I saw was Don's face, looking calmly back at me. Heart in mouth.I reached the fence and looked over. The tracton was resting against the crash barrier in the central reservation, having miraculously(奇迹般地)crossed the busy road with fast-flowing traffic.I couldn't see Don,but as I approached the tractor he jumped out onto the road, apparently unhurt, and dashed back to me. The police arrived and the motorway ran normally again.I couldn't quite believe my luck-it turned out no one got badly hurt, but the outcome could have been awful.Don was given a special meal that night-I didn't want him thinking I was angry with him. 1.get about 四处走动 2.cut through 穿过，挤进 3.tend to 照看 4.reunite v. 使重聚 5.unexpected adj. 出乎意料的 6.freeze(熟词生义)u. 停住不动 词 7.catch up 追赶上 8.crash n. 碰撞 汇 9.rest against 靠着 l0.fast-flowing adj.快速流动的 累 11.dash v. 飞奔；猛冲，急奔 308 二诵读精美语段·增分读后续写 主题：社会温情 [1]Looking at that special gift from a stranger,Anderson decided to make a change. After returning home,Anderson searched for some gift wrap,in which she placed a large bouquet of roses, with a wish card attached. She then put such a gift at every neighbor's door. Also,Anderson stood a board with, reading"Welcome to pick
