Before I turned ten, I had lost both my parents. I lived alone in a room that a relative had allowed me to use rent-free. And to support myself and my education, I had taken to delivering newspapers.

I would get up every morning by 5am and walk five kilometres from Kachiguda, where I lived, to the newspaper office in Troop’s Bazaar. By 6am, I would collect 50 copies of Manzil ( Urdu Daily) -the bundle must have weighed over five kilograms. My beat spanned three kilometres, from Moazzam Jahi Market to Basheer Bagh. After distributing the copies, I would rush home- another three kilometres away, cook my measly breakfast, and be off to the Kachiguda High School. I was in Class Seven and even though I had weekly holidays, there was no break from this work.

One wintry Friday morning in 1945,I got home after my deliveries, only to find a boy of my age at my doorstep. He introduced himself as Afzal and said his father wanted to see me. When I asked him why, Afzal said,“He will tell you.”

I assumed his father wished to subscribe to the newspaper, so I followed him to his home nearby.

Afzal’s mother, Naseem Bano, opened the door. She asked me to sit, patted my back and went inside. She reappeared carrying a large tray full of tea and snacks.

Then came Mr Kader,Afzal’s father, telling me Afzal was their only son and a student in my school.

Naseem pulled up her chair next to mine and gently asked, “Tell me about your routine, right from the time youwake up in the morning. ” I wasn't quite sure why she wanted to know that, but I told her about my morning job in a few words.

Later, as I was about to leave after thanking them, Mr Kader asked me to wait and stepped inside the house. Meanwhile,Naseem asked me, “How many miles do you walk every day?” I replied, “ A little more than 11 km. ”

My reply shocked her.

Para 1: At the same time, I saw Mr Kader emerge again, wheeling a new bicycle.

Para 2: Mr Kader began to explain why he gave me the bicycle.

官方范文,

At the same time, I saw Mr Kader emerge again, wheeling a new bicycle. It was a quite expensive new bike. I was fixing my eyes on it when I heard Mr Kader's words. “This is for you! he said. “But I have no money to pay for it,"I murmured. Afzal's mother put her arm around my shoulders, gave a gentle squeeze and said, “ Who is asking you to pay for it, my son?"lt took a few seconds for the endearment to sink in. lt felt warm, like home , as if my mother were there for me.

Mr Kader began to explain why he gave me the bicycle. He said, “ Your newspaper editor is a friend of mine. He gave me your address, so I knew you lived close by. Then Afzal told us more about you. "I bowed gratefully. I didn’even realize that my eyes had welled up, and tears were rolling down my face. Afzal's mother wiped my tears and held me closer. The bicycle changed my life for many years there after. I realized that timely and needs-based help is incomparably precious.

参考范文一,

At the same time, I saw Mr Kader emerge again, wheeling a new bicycle. With a warm smile, he said gently, “I want to give you this bicycle and I would appreciate it if you could accept it.” Shocked, I couldn’t help examining the new bicycle, which was shiny with 2 big wheels. With it, I could quicken my delivery speed, deliver more newspapers and take some rest. However, my instinct reply was “No, sir. I really appreciate your kindness, but I can’t.” Deep down, I had accustomed to depending on my own, weathering all difficulties by myself, and the unexpected kindness was beyond my “comfort zone”.

Mr Kader began to explain why he gave me the bicycle. “Young man, I have heard a lot about you. You’re living a life that is really hard, but you’ve accomplished what most people would yield to. Actually, you have inspired my family a lot with your persistence and never giving up. Please accept it as my sign of respect.” These warm words broke down my psychological barrier which I had built, exposing my pains and hard work. Holding back tears, I thanked him from the bottom of my heart. The way in front of me was tough and full of difficulties, but  I was convinced that I would go through it. The bicycle was just like a light, offering me hope and support when I was exhausted.
