幸运的流浪猫
The
cat
went
back
into
the
rubbish
box.
With
the
rain,
the
poor
cat
was
too
scared
to
come
out
of
his
new
hiding
place.
Luckily,
I
had
an
idea.
I
went
to
the
kitchen
where
Grandma
was
preparing
the
meals
for
the
days
opening.
“May
I
take
that?”
I
asked,
pointing
to
a
bamboo
steamer(蒸 笼)
ful
of
fresh
char
siu
bao.
“Help
yourself,”
Grandma
said,
and
I
headed
back
outside
with
it.
Like
al
of
Grandmas
customers(顾客),
the
cat
got
excited
at
the
smel
of
the
warm
barbecue(烧烤)
meat.
I
slowly
made
my
way
to
the
garage,
where
I
had
put
a
piece
of
cloth
on
the
floor.
Sure
enough,
the
cat
folowed
me,
happy
to
be
out
of
the
rubbish
box.
“These
are
for
me,”
I
said
as
the
cat
excitedly
pawed
at
my
leg.
“But
I
have
something
youre
going
to
like
even
better.”
I
took
out
the
can
of
cat
food
and
▲ .
It
wasnt
long
before
Grandma
appeared
in
the
doorway.
“Ashley,
what
are
you—wait,
is
that
a
cat?”
she
asked,
looking
at
the
two
of
us:
me
with
the
basket
of
char
siu
bao,
and
the
cat
eating
his
flavoured
canned
food.
“Grandma,
meet
my
new
friend.
He
loves
the
smel
of
your
cooking,”
I
said.
Grandma
chuckled,
“Wel,
it
seems
that
Il
need
to
change
our
menu.
It
may
include
something
delicious
for
the
cat.”
“If
you
do,
I
think
we
know
who
wil
be
first
in
line
every
morning!”
I
said.
The
cat
happily
rubbed(摩 擦)
himself
against
my
leg,
agreeing
with
the
idea.
