一、特殊疑问词引导的宾语从句

（一）概念

当宾语从句是特殊疑问句时，疑问词就是宾语从句的引导词。连接代词who，whom，whose，which，what和连接副词where，how，why，when可引导宾语从句，并在从句中做一定成分。

 

（二）连接词的含义及功能

词类	词汇	中文含义	在句中的功能	例句
连接 代词	who	谁（主格）	除在句中起连 接作用外，还在宾语从句中做主语、宾语、定语或表语。	Do you know who will come this afternoon？ （who在宾语从句中做主语）

	what	什么		I wonder what I should do next . (what在句中作宾语)
	which	哪个		I’m not sure which direction is correct . (which在句中作定语)
连接 副词	when	什么时候	除在句中起连 接作用外，还在 宾语从句中做 状语，不能 省略。	I want to know when the plane will take off. (when在宾语从句中做状语)
	where	什么地方； 哪里		She wonders where the speaker comes from . (where在句中做状语)
	how	怎样；如何		I wonder how she learned to play the piano so well in such a short period of time . (how 在句中做状语)
	why	为什么； ……的原因		Please explain why you were late for class again. (why在宾语从句中做状语)

【注意】（1）how 与某些形容词或副词构成的词组也可以引导宾语从句,主要有how old ,how many, how much, how long , how often , how far 等。

He didn’t tell me how long he would stay there .

（2）宾语从句后的标点要根据主句的句子类型来确定。当主句是陈述句时，句末通常用句点；当主句是疑问句时，句末通常用问号。

（3）当who，which对宾语从句的主语提问时，宾语从句的语序不变。

Do you know who will give a speech?

 

（三）语序的变化。

在含有宾语从句的复合句中，无论主句是陈述句还是疑问句，宾语从句都必须使用陈述语序，即“主句＋引导词＋宾语从句（主语＋谓语＋其他）”。因此，当特殊疑问句做宾语从句时，一定要注意语序。

“When will we start?”I wonder.

→I wonder when we will start.

【注意】当疑问代词what/who在特殊疑问句中做主语时，该特殊疑问句本身即是陈述语序，所以转变成宾语从句后无需要调整语序。

“Who watered the flower?" the teacher wonders.

→The teacher wonders who watered the flower.

（四）常跟连接代词或连接副词引导的宾语从句的动词

可跟连接代词或连接副词引导宾语从句的动词（短语）有：say，tell，ask，answer, know, decide, show, remember, choose，find out等。

We haven't decided where we should go for the holiday.我们还没决定去什么地方度假。

 

（五）含有宾语从句的复合句与简单句的转换

含有宾语从句的复合句在一定的条件下可以转化为简单句。

①若主句的主语与从句的主语一致，或主句的宾语与从句的主语一致，则由疑问词引导的宾语从句可以变成“疑问词＋动词不定式”这一结构。

I don’t know how I should do it next .

=I don’t know how to do it .

I’ll tell you how you can get there .

=I’ll tell you how to get there .

②当主句谓语动词是see，hear，watch等时，其后的that从句常简化为“宾语＋动词原形／动词-ing形式（＋其他）”。

I saw some boys were playing basketball on the playground just now.

=I saw some boys playing basketball on the playground just now.

刚才我看到一些男孩正在操场上打篮球。 

③当主句的谓语动词是hope，agree，wish等，且主句的主语与从句的主语一致时，其后that引导的宾语从句可简化为动词不定式结构。

He agreed that he could help me with my English.

=He agreed to help me with my English.

他同意帮我学习英语。
