必修一 Unit 5 Assessing Your Progress & Project 课 题 UNIT 5 LANGUAGES AROUND THE WORLD Period 6 Assessing Your Progress 学 科 英语 班 级 授课教师 教 学目 标 By the end of this section, students will be able to: 1. check and consolidate what they have learnt in this unit when it comes to vocabulary, such as attitude, refer to, and relate; 2. check and consolidate grammar (restrictive relative clauses) that they have learnt in this unit; 3. improve their skills of self-evaluation and reflection. 教 学 主 题 该板块与前面单元在设计上略有不同，活动1和活动2是基于一个语篇而设计的两个各有针对性的活动，分别考查学生对单元重点词汇和语法结构的掌握情况。该语篇不仅介绍了拉丁语和德语，还提供了语言学习的一些方法，供学生借鉴。单元内容评价和自我反思部分旨在督促学生反思本单元所学内容，及时总结从单元文本中获得的新知，思考对单元引言及多门语言（包括英语）学习的体会。 教 学 重 点 引导学生检测本单元词汇和语法的学习情况。 教 学难 点 引导学生结合单元内容回顾，体会英式英语和美式英语的差异。 引导学生结合单元内容进行自我反思，思考如何解决自己在英语学习上存在的问题。 教 学 内 容 与 过 程 Step 1 语言知识检测 （1）学生完成活动1和活动2，然后师生核对答案。 （2）教师将活动1和活动2中的两个段落合成一个语篇进行讲解，因为这两个段落是有联系的，是关于一名学生自述学习多门语言（法语、拉丁语、德语）的经历。教师可以让学生找出描述作者在语言学习过程中发生变化（changes）的语句，将语言（vocabulary; grammar）与内容（experiences of learning French and Latin）结合起来。例如： · When I entered senior high school, my attitude towards language learning changed. · For this reason, learning Latin wasn’t a struggle for me like learning French. · Reading those books opened a window for me to another world and gave me a new point of view on my own world. · ... and that was the way in which I decided to take on a new language. · The building in which/where we met for classes were quite small, but there was a whole world of language to explore. · I’ll never forget the first day when she introduced herself to us. （3）学生阅读Workbook中Reading中的语篇，然后回答以下问题。 · What do you suppose polyglot means? · According to Tim Doner, what is the purpose of learning foreign languages? · What do you understand from the sentences Nelson Mandela once said at the end of the passage? Step 2 反思与评价 （1）学生在阅读Workbook上的语篇的基础上，结合Tim Doner的经历和自己学习本单元的感受，形成对外语学习的正确认知，并在此基础上说一说自己对开篇页引言的理解。 （2）学生反思自己学习外语的动机，教师观察学生在阐述动机时的语言表现，并通过学生的阐述判断学生的思维能力。 （3）学生回忆本单元主篇阅读的主要内容，教师可以作适当提示。
