重点词汇及短语

1. by working with friends   通过与朋友一起学习

(1)   此句中by是介词，意为“通过，靠”，表示方式、手段，其后可接名词、代词、动名词。

       He learns English by listening to English songs.

       Alice gets better grades by studying harder.

(2)   work with sb.    与某人一起学习

       I like to work with my classmates.

       Jim can’t stand working with Molly.

2. make word cards  制作单词卡  

       Nick made some word cards to study Chinese.

       Kate is making word cards for her daughter. 

3. listen to tapes    听磁带

短语的结构是listen to sb./sth. 意为：“听......” 

       Helen didn’t listen to her parents.

       We can’t listen to music in the classroom.

4. ask the teacher for help  向老师请求帮助

短语的结构是ask sb. for help, 意为：“向某人请求帮助”

       You can ask your parents for help.

(1)   ask sb.for sth.“向某人要某物，要求某人某事”

       Lisa asked her brother for 10 dollars.

       I often ask my best friend for advice.

(2)   ask for sb./sth.“求见某人/索要某物”

       A man asked for Mr. Black one hour ago.

       I didn’t ask for this job.

5. study for a test    备考

       Linda didn’t go out with us last night because she was studying for a test.

       Xing Hua learned French by watching videos.

7. have conversations with friends in English 与朋友用英语对话

(1)   have conversations/ a conversation with sb.    与某人对话

       The math teacher had a conversation with Andy.

       Jason’s father wants to have conversations with him.

(2)   “in+语言”表示用哪种语言

       Mike’s mom told him a story in Chinese.

8. What about...？表示“......怎么样？”相当于“How about...?”。常用于询问他人的意见。about后可接名词、代词、动名词。

       What/How about going to the beach on the weekend?

       What/How about this sweater?

9. read aloud 大声朗读

〖辨析〗aloud, loudly, loud

	词性及意义	用法
aloud	adv. 出声地，大声地	主要与read, think, cry等词连用
loudly	adv. 喧闹地，大声地，响亮地	常带有贬义，含有令人讨厌的或打扰人的意味
loud	adv. 喧闹地，大声地，响亮地	作为非正式用语常为副词，几乎总是用于loud enough, as loud as等短语中，或与too, very, so连用
	adj. 喧闹的，大声的，响亮的	常用在名词前作定语，比较级是louder

       I think it’s useful to read aloud.

       He always talks loudly in public.

(1)   practice (doing) sth.  练习（做）某事

       They practice the dance until it was perfect.

       Lucy usually practices playing the piano on Sunday.
