(1) What Chinese festivals are similar to each of the three festivals in the video?
Yi Peng Lantern Festival is similar to the Lantern Festival in China. On both festivals people make lanterns. Midsummer's Day is similar to the Dragon Boat Festival. Both celebrate the start of summer, though the latter takes on other meanings as it develops. The Day of the Dead is similar to the Qingming Festival. Both festivals are celebrated for people to remember their loved ones who are no longer with them.
(2) What other festivals around the world do you know about?
I once read about Winter Scareaway Festival in Hungary. People dress up as scary monsters to scare off winter and mark the start of spring.
