This was Zhang Qian. He was a pioneer in setting up the Silk Road. His travels to the west of China helped open up Central Asia to China. And the Silk Road got its name from the Chinese silk trade.

Zheng He was a famous Chinese explorer. He was born in Yunnan in 1371. He went on seven trips to the Western Seas.
His great voyages not only allowed China to trade with western countries but also encouraged the exchange of cultures and technologies and helped the development of the countries and regions he travelled to.

He traveled to China and wrote a book about his adventures called "The Travels of Marco Polo," which introduced Europeans to the rich culture and trade opportunities in Asia. Christopher Columbus, an Italian explorer, lived during the 15th century. He believed he could reach Asia by sailing westward. In 1492, he set sail with three ships and accidentally discovered the Americas, changing the course of history.
