One day, Timmy Willie went to town by mistake in a big basket with vegetables. There he met Johnny Town-mouse. Johnny Town-Mouse offered Timmy Willie a most comfortable sofa pillow to sleep. The sofa pillow had a hole in it. Johnny Town-Mouse quite honestly called it the best bed. Excellent meals were also provided. The food here disagreed with him and the noise prevented him from sleeping. So he said goodbye to them and hid in a big basket with a small piece of cake and a vegetable leaf. After a long journey, he was set down safely in his own garden. Sometimes on Saturdays he went to look at the big basket lying by the gate, but he knew he had better not get in again. And nobody got out, though Johnny Town-Mouse had promised him a visit. The winter passed and the sun came out again. Timmy Willie, warming his little fur coat and smelling the flowers and spring grass, had nearly forgotten his visit to town. Suddenly, Johnny Town-Mouse came up the sandy path with a brown leather bag! Timmy Willie received him with open arms. “You have come at the best time of the year. We will have sweet pudding and sit in the sun.” “Hmm, it is a little wet,” sighed Johnny Town-Mouse who loved cleanness. He was carrying his tail under his arm, out of the mud. “What is that fearful noise?” he shouted loudly. “That?” said Timmy Willie. “That is only a cow. I will beg a little milk. The cows are quite harmless unless they happen to lie down upon you. How is everything going?” _________. The family had gone to the seaside to celebrate Easter. The cook was doing spring cleaning in order to clear out the mice. There were four baby cats, and the cat had killed the pet bird.
